I had sufficient funds in both savings and checking, so called Customer Service. Because of the fact I do not have a mortgage, credit card, or other loan through Truist, they will now charge me a monthly maintenance fee. $180 per year to use my money to give those loans to earn the interest that keeps their profits rolling. I may earn a few dollars in interest over that same year. The point of personal banking is that your financial institution PAYS YOU for allowing them to use your money on all sorts of profitable investments. To charge you $20 a month because you are not in debt to them is absolutely insane. If your grandma or anyone who may not have these debts to Truist hasn't carefully checked their statements, do them a kindness and protect them. I'm closing my account with them today, and transferring all my funds to a local institution who does not charge me to use my money to make their profits. This is a trend that can not gain any steam.

I deposited a money order into my account at Bank of America. A week later they deducted it from my account telling me it wasn't any good. I took it to Western Union who verified it was good and cashed by the Bank of America. They keep passing the buck and refused to credit my count. This is not our first bad encounter with them. Was going to purchase a new 2026 Silverardo that cost $38,000 with $4000 rebates and $10,000 cash down from my hip pocket. The MSRP on the truck was around $44,000. So, this truck was one of the least expensive that you can buy. Have been on a federal government job for 25 plus years, make three figures, lived in the same house with a mortgage for 16 years, no bankruptcy, no tax liens, no charge offs etc. They come back with a rate of 5% which is too high but the rub was that they wanted proof of income. Have financed four vehicle loans in my life and NEVER provided proof of income. I told to stick their loan up their arse. I am not some bog.

It's Friday, they close in 40 minutes. So if it isn't fixed, then what? This is really sad. No text, no social media post, nothing to let individuals know if there is an issue.
