My wife and I can't say enough good things about Marke Hooker and his team…read more We appreciated his level-headed, common sense approach to our project. Another contractor we'd contacted for a quote struggled to understand the project (remove two adjacent closets to create a hallway to provide dedicated access to the 3rd floor, and build a new closet in the modified bedroom). Upon coming out to provide a free estimate, Marke immediately saw exactly what we wanted to accomplish, and even made several suggestions we hadn't considered that worked out wonderfully. Throughout the project Marke was incredibly responsive via email, phone, and text - answering questions, providing updates, and scheduling activity. He made our renovation project painless: from pulling the permit, scheduling out each step of the project, coordinating inspections, and working around our schedule - it was a seamless process. In addition to working efficiently, he and his team took extra care to minimize their presence in our home. Prior to leaving each day, he vacuumed the entryway, stairs, and hallway leading to the room they were working in on the second floor so there wasn't a trace of dust or debris. The quality of his work is outstanding; everything appears original to the house and is well constructed (the inspector was even in and out in less than four minutes - and uttered, verbatim, "beautimous"). A couple of weeks prior to starting our project with Marke, we had a toilet overflow and cause water damage. Our plumber recommended another renovation group to take care of the issue. Although the water damage remediation project was smaller in scope & had a couple week head start ahead of the project Marke was working on, Marke completed his project first. Working with two renovation teams in parallel made us truly appreciate Marke and his team. There was a night and day difference in his level of quality, professionalism, cleanliness, and communication. After our experience working with Marke, my wife both agreed, "Always go with Marke!" August 2018 Update: Just always choose Marke for your project. The tremendous amount of rain during July led to a small leak in our roof that caused the painted over wallpaper in our kitchen nook to bubble. This issue cropped up while our house was listed for sale and understandably turned off several potential buyers. We reached out to Marke and he was able to fix the issue so that the nook looks fantastic. Marke also isolated the leak's origin and fixed that as well. We're thrilled with Marke's work and thoroughly recommend contacting him for your next project!

Their quote for the work was competitive too. I was impressed by their work and how much care they put into the work (especially carpentry done by Wade) - and that was only reinforced when the city inspector was impressed too! I'd highly recommend Southbound, and have already done so to my neighbors.

I called after your visit, but you didn't answer, so I left a vm and text. Later in April, I called you and you answered that time. I asked about the estimate. I reminded you that you said, "2 to 3 days (April 14) but it wasn't until April 24 that I got a concrete answer that you will not be doing the job. My contention isn't that you can't do the job, but that I wasn't given the courtesy to tell me that you weren't interested in providing the estimate nor would be able to do the job. If I hadn't called or inquired, I would never have gotten an answer at all. How could I give you a higher rating? You only came to look at the project. I can't grade you on quality, service or promptness because I have no reference point to go by. My review isn't harsh but simply stated as it happened. Danae seems to be the person who makes the decisions on which jobs to take. Maybe a conversation she be had with her if you don't want more reviews like mine.
