This place has always had decent dive bar food but the service has been downright offensive, music so loud you couldn't hold a conversation, and uncomfortably cold. We knew they got new owners a couple years back and knew they have slowly been making some changes so we decided to give it a try and we were pleasantly surprised. The main restaurant area is a covernous space with a bar in the middle and high top tables all around and TV's over the bar. A mix of music plays in the background. A patio area with tables and umbrellas is to the back of the building. A small slot parlour is at the front of the building. Private parking lot with permitted spaces near the entrance. Didn't see an EV charge station. The menu is large and contains pub fare. Burgers, sandwiches, entree salads. Full bar with a few draft beers and local spirits. The restaurant is clean, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. We ordered a salad to split and she also let us know half sandwiches can be ordered (even tho it's not on the menu). An extra bowl was brought out and we divided the salad. The taco salad is huge. Plenty of everything in there. Sides of sour cream and salsa are provided with this salad and used to mix in like dressing. Tasty and filling. Those hot peppers are Hot! Very low key bar atmosphere. We almost didn't stay because it smelled of old grease, but it was the only place to go within walking distance. If they clean up the grease, start acknowledging new patrons when they walk in and make a better drink, I'm sure it would be a good place to go. read more

I should have taken a picture of the fish, It was actually comical considering it looked like they took a sledge hammer to it, minced it up and then fried it lol... it was paper thin! I'm surprised it actually stayed together in the fryer. (The one tiny piece they gave you) oh the fries were limper than a 90 year old man and the pizza was... well, my kids wouldn't eat it, sooo that explains that. I was working in Billings and wound up staying at the Hampton Inn which is across the parking lot. I didn't have a car so I wound up eating at Fiddler's Green four nights in a row. Fiddler's Green is a sports bar & grill plus casino all in one. They have a nice variety of tap beers and a full bar. They had a different bartender every night I was there; all were pretty young ladies. I'd say Tiffany was my favorite, she had the most outgoing & friendly personality. However, none of the bartenders were bad, just my personal preference. The house special is clearly the Pork Chop Sandwich (photo attached) and its huge. The picture I posted is the smallest one I saw all week. I also tried the hot pastrami sandwich which wasn't bad but clearly not the absolute best pastrami. Prices are very reasonable, I had one or two cocktails & one or two draft beers every night, combined with a sandwich and think my bills (with 20% tip) ran between $26-$35. Try the Dragon's Breath dark wheat beer, very nice. They also have Guinness on tap which is always a plus. I have no complaints about Fiddler's Green, its a good neighborhood bar & grill. read more

So first things first, Fiddler's Green is exactly what you think when you think of a Sports Bar, simple and typical fried bar food with multiple TV's all tuned to various sports and a wide selection of beer. Being from Saint Louis, the home of Budweiser, I have become spoiled mostly because of our abundant selection of craft brews all growing up in the shadow of the King of Beers, but Montana didn't disappoint. I arrived shortly after 6:00 PM and took a seat at the bar, I asked the waitress for a local brew and she named a few however the Himmelberger Wheat sounded good so I decided to give it a try. I took a sip and have to admit that I was pleasently surprised, this was great! a very simple yet perfect taste. I am thinking I need to get more of this beer before I leave Montana. As far as food goes I decided to try the Pork Chop Sandwich, when it arrived I was in total shock, this thing was huge and pretty tasty. Overall a great value, I couldnt even finish all of mine. Fiddler's Green isnt anything special, however the food is good the beer is cold, and there even happens to be a casino in the back. So ended up staying at the Hampton Inn next to Fiddlers Green in Billings due to car issue. The front desk offered Fiddlers as a good place to grab pub style type food, and it was next door, so it sounded great. I was told the pork chop sandwich was amazing so I selected that with fries and a side of Mayo and ketchup. I also ordered a grilled chicken salad and soup for my wife all to go. My food was ready after 10 minutes and the guy that brought it out asked if I got the salad with itailian and pork chop sandwich. As I let him know I also asked for Mayo and soup he just walked away. He was too busy pouring drinks, but I assumed it was right and left. I walked back to the hotel, and got my food out for my wife and myself. Unfortunately there was no soup, no Mayo, but after a long hard travelled hot day I did not pursue the issue and just ate. The sandwich looked great, however after I took a bite, I realized it was way overdone. The bun was cooked so crisp it broke as I bit into it. The pork patty was also well well done. The batter just crushed right off and the pork was barely noticeable as it was so dry. However, the fries were amazing! They kicked ass! Lastly, the salad was very full, and very delicious! That keeps the rating at a 3, without the salad... forget it! Dunno if the cook forgot mine in the fryer, but if I ever visit again, I'll try the burgers!!! read more

Lot of bad reviews but here is an honest opinion on how my lunch went today. Hard to get in and eat and get back to work in an hour. Had a burger and fries and it didn't suck. Food is better than average. My server was nice but it took 35 minutes for my food and I was one of about 10 people in the place. Food is good. Service is a bit sketchy. Prices are fair. Although 3 bucks for a soda is steep. I might go back but not anytime soon. read more

I am so confused by the good reviews on here. First of all - our bartender/waitress... I think her name was Mickie (?) was one of the most rude individuals I've ever had to deal with during a dining experience. Secondly, the place is filthy. Thirdly? The food tastes like cafeteria food. Blah. It's way out of the way from anything fun. Not worth the trip, bad service, SLOOOOOW service, or anything else associated. I made the mistake of staying at the Hampton Inn located in the middle of an industrial park leaving me the only option of this place or driving 5 miles. So I hit this place two nights in a row. Cheese Stix are average the pizzas are solid if you love a ton of cheese ....as I do. BUT. I have never run into a group of such grim,serious and non smiling unfriendly staff in my life. Which I mentioned to the bartender who replied oh we are just busy..... Come for the food your ok...ish. Come for hospitality......go somewhere else. read more

Last night I got takeout, they gave me soggy kringlecut fries instead of the steakfries they call joe joes. When I took them back they replaced them with the steak fries, unfortunately someone loaded them with salt that made me gag. They were inedible. I took them back and got my money back. There is good and bad to this place. The good...THE WINGS!!!! They only have one flavor, Inferno, but boy are they delicious! We've had a lot of their food and it is all pretty tasty. The Whaler sandwich is really good along with all of their sandwiches. Their ranch is really, really good. The bad...the staff can be downright rude and unfriendly. There is one bartender that is really awesome and if I remember to catch her name next time I will update this review because she definitely needs recognized. I travel twice a year through Billings. I've eaten here 3 times as it's literally the closest restaurant to my hotel. It's fine as a bar, but the food this last time was a total joke. They used to have a real menu. It's just fried garbage with over salted fries. Literally. I ordered a pork chop sandwich and got a pounded filet of something white that was 7 by 5 inches on top of a normal hamburger bun. Wilted lettuce, a pickle fragment and red onion completed the picture. The whole menu is on a flimsy piece of paper. Save yourself time and money and walk an extra 1/4 mile and go to a chain. Maybe by that time the waitress will have stopped talking to her friends to notice you have left. read more

Took a real estate class at a hotel near this pub. Unfortunately it's really the only restaurant in the area. Very basic bar food. Ordered a few of the salads and the lemon pepper chicken was one of the better ones. The portion of chicken was really good however everything under the chicken mediocre at best. Only difference between many salads is just the rub it spices it the chicken. Bagged chunked lettuce and raw mushroom, onions, and a few tomatoes. My cohorts enjoyed the sandwiches but have a sensitivity to certain breads and lactose I didn't choose those. I was disappointed they didn't have any non creamy dressings. Gluten free was labeled but not even a basic balsamic and vinegar. So eating that salad dry Is less then desirable. Drinks were really cheap and reasonable that was a huge plus. Each time we went they were very understaffed. If we didn't order right when we arrived we would end up needing to boxes. Only one server on the patio and all three days never saw another person come out to help Her or drop drinks or anything. Price points on food aren't to bad but quality could greatly improve. We stayed at Super 8 for the night while traveling through. We brought our baby in with us, which was a huge mistake as there were drunk people stumbling around. The waitresses didn't acknowledge us for about 10 or 15 minutes. By the time they finally did we waited an eternity for a menu. We ordered it to go because we didn't want our baby in that nasty place. It seemed really disgusting. They finally offered us a booster seat for our baby while we waited, which they brought to us dirty. The waitress must have forgotten that we even placed an order. Then finally I decided to take the baby back to the hotel while my husband waited for our food. The food was so awful! it was obviously frozen then deep fried too long. I work in the Billings area every year or so and I always come to this place for food and some beers since it's two doors down from the hotel. The beer is cheap, the food is good and bartenders are friendly. You can pretty much watch any sports game going on at any time and there is a casino attached to the bar. The only thing is Montana recently passed a law to ban smoking in bars, I CAME FROM CALIFORNIA TO SMOKE INSIDE!!! The wild west is calming down it would seem, until you realize that everyone has a knife or a gun on them or nearby. Anyway, highly recommended, come in here to drink beer and eat some good food. read more
