Ben & Erin photographed my engagement session in Scottsdale, AZ. Then they photographed our wedding weekend in Lake Como, Italy. Every photo they took from our trip in Italy is my most prized possession! It was like having friends photograph the first most important day of my life. My pictures are emotional, sentimental, and vibrant. While I was living in the moment at my wedding, they were documenting moments I didn't even see happening. Today, I cherish the variety of pictures they captured of my Mom and me at my wedding, her happiest of times and now, all I have left to remember her. We hadn't had a family photo taken in quite some time, so spur of the moment I tried to find a photographer for a Charleston photo shoot. The minute I saw Melissa's examples on her website, I knew she was the one I wanted to use. Due to my son's military schedule, we had to do some juggling to find a date and time that worked, but she was super accommodating. We wanted a "Charleston" backdrop, so we met at White Point gardens, took many photos there, as well as throughout downtown Charleston, and along the seawall at the battery. Melissa was great to work with, and made you feel immediately at ease. She had a lot of great suggestions, and really worked hard to get us a variety of photos so we'd have many to choose from. I also really liked that we would be given access to all the photos that she took, and weren't locked into a specific set amount. We are thrilled with the results, and would highly recommend her! He captured SO MANY amazing moments from our day while being very un-intrusive during the ceremony. Our eager parents attempted to take photos themselves and direct our poses (*facepalm*), and Philip maintained incredible patience and professionalism through it all. He's fun, professional, hilarious, and extremely kind. Even though the wedding is over, I still love talking to Philip whenever I get the chance. How many people consider their wedding photographer a friend after the fact? It's pretty awesome! One story I'll never forget - On the actual wedding day, my hair and makeup took too long and I was over an hour late getting to my First Look. My anxiety level was at all time high. Then, my dad who was supposed to drive me to the location decided to "go for a drive" and was no where to be found (seriously Dad?!). I thought I was going to break down in tears, but Philip had my back! He cleared out his car and I jumped in and he drove me to the First Look. On the way there, he helped me see the humor in the situation and my anxiety melted away. I went from feeling completely crushed to laughing in just minutes. He just has that effect on people. And trust me - when it's your wedding day, those are the types of people that make all the difference. The reason I'm giving two stars is because the beginning of our experience with leeann was good. We…read moreliked her work and she accommodated my fiancé and I well. Her true colors came out when we requested to cancel the date we booked with her due to an emergency. Due to my health, we wouldn't be able to make our date and we informed leeann that we would have to cancel. She informed us that we wouldn't be getting our deposit back but she would be able to reschedule. Normally, I understand about rescheduling but we are in Chicago and the time frame for us to actually go to Charleston was uncertain. In her contract, she states that she will reschedule, "due to severe weather." Beyond this, her "contract" says there is no refund policy but leads to believe its only for weather. The contract is very vague and misleading. If you schedule with her, be sure to ask questions about what "no refunds" truly cover if other situations should occur.
