We had to get the place blown and dried out, replace all the woods, our basement was leaked as well. My parents called ServiceMaster and was helped by Jared Huisken, the owner. This was the very first time my family had experienced anything like this since we owned the house, and had no experience in anything including disaster response, clean up, or calling and claiming insurance. Jared was extremely nice and helpful to my parents, told my parents exactly what goes into the estimation and what any insurance would be able to (but will never inform them) to cover. He walked us through the entire process with the kindness of his heart and including all the details that my family wouldn't even consider or thought of, especially in time of crisis like this. His team of professionals were quick, fast, and knew exactly what they were doing in order to help my family get through some unexpected events like this. My husband and I visited their shop to see what the finished product would look like before deciding and we actually really love the grain of the wood still visible through the paint. We had a small issue with a hardware hole being in the wrong place and they took the door back to the shop, corrected the issue and brought it back within a week. From beginning to end, the process was about two and a half weeks, and that includes the door they had to make a return trip for. Everything was clearly communicated. I have no problem giving a 5 star review for this carpet installation but this could have easily…read morebeen a 2-3 star review if not for Sharee and the people at Floor Coverings International (FCI). The initial home consultation with Paul was great. He had tons of samples and showed us many options and gave recommendations based on our needs. There was never any pressure to buy and he spent quite a bit of time going over the whole process and answering all our questions and concerns. We decided a few days later to go with FCI based on our meeting and the fact that their prices were competitive with the other quotes we received. Then things turned South. We were told it would take about 2-4 weeks to get the carpet from the factory. After a month, they contacted us and said that the factory was still back ordered and it would be another month. They were very apologetic and ended up removing the cost of moving the furniture from our bill. The carpet order finally arrived and we were set up for an install on November 3rd. The installers came out and had most of the old carpet ripped out and the new carpet pad laid and started to bring in the new carpet. They started to unroll the carpet and lo-and-behold - not the carpet I ordered! I took pictures and called Erick and explained the situation. He was very sympathetic to our situation and even offered a good discount on this carpet if that was an option for us. It was a nice carpet but we were set on getting the carpet we ordered so declined the offer. We had to live for a month on our 1st floor with only carpet pads for flooring. Not fun! They reordered the carpet and installed it on December 5th. The installation went without a hitch and the carpet looks great. Here's the best part. Sharee negotiated with Shaw Carpets and got them to pay for half of the cost of the carpet. Even though this whole situation had nothing to do with the people at FCI, they offered to cover the cost of the other half. How great is that? Would I recommend this company to my friends and family? You bet! If I need more carpet or flooring in the future you can be sure that they'll be the first ones I call. Thanks Sharee and Erick! It was great doing business with you.
