(The last time I felt a need to do something similar, I got a tattoo). However, this time I wanted to celebrate the moment in an entirely different way. At first I thought, boudoir photos? Hmmm....a little tacky, full of boa feathers and cheesy poses, right? But the Daily Candy blurb was compelling enough for me to look at Lolo's website and I liked what I found. As another reviewer has written: sensual, timeless, natural, coquettish and most importantly, classy while revealing the true essence of the subject (or so it seemed). I knew instantly that this was what I wanted, and arranged an initial consultation to explore the idea further. As soon as I met Lolo and saw her studio, I knew I would follow through. She has lots of fun settings and props and costumes. And you can shoot in her studio or in her barn (yes, imagine me, being photographed in a barn!) However, I was like a little girl playing dress up, and it was such fun! And you can even bring your own items from home....from jewelry to lingerie to your favorite dresses and shoes.....as much or as little as you want. I have a vintage 60's ballgown (think Breakfast at Tiffany's) which I have always wanted to be photographed in, in really fun, whimsical poses. As you can probably imagine, my shoot was an absolute blast (albeit a tad cold in the barn). And I loved the champagne, chocolates and ginger biscuits that helped sustain me throughout the 5 hour shoot. :-) Lolo is a great photographer to work with and I can't wait to see my pics! Before she had even gotten to our rooms, she had already scouted the perfect location for our first look. She has a masterful familiarity with the building.
