After very satisfactory experiences with their people for some time, we were poorly treated on May 20. We arrived at 5:15 PM with plenty of time to wash our dog before the closing time posted on the website. We were curtly told by the young lady that we could not do so because she had to close at 6. No apology or attempt to work with us (it takes us just 30 minutes to wash and dry her). She also informed us that we could feel free to take our business elsewhere which we will do. read more

I had used them at least 6 times with good results, then a disaster with horrible customer service recovery. I would highly recommend every one skip patronizing this business with owners that do not give a rip. I had my Chinese crested down for a grooming when the power went out in the business area. Obviously just bad luck for both myself, and the business. More so for me, as it is a 1.5 round trip from where I live. But cannot blame this part on the business. I return the second day, and my dog receive such a bad haircut it was almost funny. Very choppy and crooked, when you looked at the hair hanging below her mouth straight on, it was cut at an obvious slant. The hanging hair left on one ear was about 1/2" longer than the other ear. Random long poofs of hair all over the rest of her. Obvious uneven chop lines. It was almost a laughable spoof where you would expect Candid Camera to pop out, it was so ridiculously bad. However the 10 hours of driving and the $60 did not make it the least funny. My boyfriend picked her up in a hurry before closing hours the second day. When we got her back home in good light the horrible hack hair cut became obvious. I call one of the co-owners the next morning and told her a visual was worth a million words. She said to bring her back to be fixed, and promised a certificate for the next groom. In context I took that to mean a deserved free groom. For the third time, another 45 minute return drive, same horrible hack hair cut in a shorter version. To add injury to insult they took all day so it took another 1.5 hour round trip to retrieve her. The certificate turned out to be a coupon for 15% off the next groom, this was the ultimate insult. I asked to have the owner call me the next day, no call. Took my Chihuahua to Kosmo's for a wash and nail clip. Very nice groomers and pleasent staff. Dog came back nice and clean, they even gave her a holiday scarf! I really liked the service but for $40 to wash my 9lb chihuahua i'll keep to the big box stores. I guess good service comes at a price though.. read more

Kosmos is great. My groomer for my mini schnauzer does an amazing job, best I have found. She keeps excellent notes and really knows her breed cuts. I also use Kosmos self wash, they have very nice raised tubs with everything you need. High marks all around. read more

Hi, We recently relocated to Scottsdale. I took my two Border Collies, Cami and Miles, to Kosmo's to use their self - service dog wash. Both dogs were blowing out under coat and really needed a bath. So, after a quick online search, I ran across Kosmo's. No appointment needed to use the self service dog wash, but they only have two self service stations, so you may want to make an appointment if you were going at a busy time, say like a Saturday morning. I went mid - day on a Wednesday and had no wait. Staff was super nice and helpful. Provided quick and efficient instructions as to how to use their facility. They provide all of the basics (like towels and shampoo), plus extras like "no tear" shampoo for the face and full coat conditioner. All products were in this awesome natural smelling plumb scent. All of the standard grooming tools are provided for brushing coat, including a de-shedding comb, which was really nice. The professional quality stainless steel grooming tubs and hoses with constant temperature control and front open tub doors were all great. There was no lifting of my dogs to get them in and out of the tub. They provide a professional quality blow dryer as well. All of this for just $15.00 per dog - for my size dogs. 20 - 40 pounds is the weight range I think to qualify for the $15.00 fee. I was in and out of there in about 45 minutes. Picked up some great all natural marrow bones on the way out. They seem to be well stocked with high - end pet supplies, but I didn't have time to fully check it all out. They also give you a loyalty card that they stamp and after you get so many stamps - 8 I think - you get a free self service wash. So, overall I had a great experience and highly recommend. Love this place! Becci the new owner is super knowledgeable about nutrition and more than happy to talk to you about any food issues your dog has. She helped me get my dogs allergies under control, he's no longer itching all the time. The store is so cute and has all sorts of wonderful hard to find products. My little chihuahua is very sweet but turns into a monster when its time to trim his nails but he lets Becci clip them without trying to take her hand off. I took my pug in just for a quick "facial" and to see how the groomers operates because I initally was going to Petco but they would never cut my dog's nails because he "would pee" (NOT a good reason!). So, after by groomed by Debbie and seeing how she interacted with my dog, I was sooo happy. Now I go to her every few months or so and my dog LOVES her to death. She spoils him and is able to handle his high maintenence qualities. Not only that, I was late to pick up my dog (my fault) and held the employees afterhours. They not only greeted me nicely but gave me some dog samples to take home. What great customer service!! I love Kosmo's and so does my dog! I will never take him anywhere else. As long as we live in Scottsdale our Zsa Zsa will only be going to Kosmos to be groomed!!! The entire staff is so sweet but I was extremely impressed by Emma, one of the groomers. I get a little worried when having our very old chihuahua groomed because her fragile little old dog body and medical issues. Emma got her in and out quickly with out stressing her out with any dryers or wait time, I think any owner of an elderly dog can really appreciate this. Groomer injured my dog and didn't tell me when I went to pick him up. When we got home he wouldn't move, only a few steps at a time. When I looked at his underside I found a cut near his private parts, bleeding slowly. I called the store and got vm. I left a message, two days later no response. I called and left another message and even emailed them. Finally got the owner, told her what I found, she apologized and offered up excuses but didn't even offer another grooming for free. Never went back, very disappointed in management style not to say such horrible customer service. read more

Ok my last review for Kosmo's was in 2014.. They have changed ownership since then and today was my first time back since. I was looking for a store in the area with premium dog foods. Kosmo's was the first locally owned store to come to mind. Last time we went, we had a not so fantastic time with the self wash service. When I walked in today, the entire layout of the store was different and the employees were HAPPY! I was greeted instantly and offered assistance. I told her that my Doberman had been on raw food for 2 years, and due to some financial circumstances, that I had to (hopefully temporarily) transition him to Kibble for the time being. The problem I was having was getting him to eat the kibble. I will be the first to admit that I am a dog food snob. And I aws happily delighted when not only did she understand my concerns, but she was SO knowledgable about dog foods, nutritional needs, and whatnot. I was blown away. You simply do not find this kind of knowledge or passion at other pet supply stores. She offered several different solutions and in the end I tried out a few of them. She went above and beyond by completely understanding my struggle with trying kibble after kibble and thus sent me home with a nice variety of samples for my dog to try. This was so unexpected, but at the same time, amazingly generous. The experience I had here today is what has won me back over to Kosmo's. Oh, and did I mention, their new self service dog wash looks fantastic :) I can't wait to try it read more

I have to edit/revise my 2/6/13 review. Turns out the night of Mason (my goldendoodle's grooming), he started acting really strange. Sitting, afraid to stand, rubbing his butt on the carpet trying to lick back there. First I thought maybe the shampoo bothered him but the next day he was worse. I checked him over and found that the Groomer, Cathy had literally taken a razor to the underside of his tail and also ran it across his butt (the sensitive area where business is done, if you know what I mean). The whole area was raw, red and bumpy. I was beside myself with anger at the Groomer for doing this. This should be done to no dog. I was also so frustrated that there was nothing I could do to make him feel better. I felt helpless and he felt either pain or itch or a combination of the two. I was hopeful he would get better quickly but 3+ days after the grooming, he was still the same. I had been speaking with the Owner/Manager, Ben Irvine and can say, I have never been treated with such respect, kindness, and sincere compassion for my anguish and for Mason's discomfort. Ben offered me the world to make things better, whether it be a salve, a free grooming, a free bath, for the other Groomer, his Lead Groomer, Amanda to take a look, see if she could do anything to make him better but I thought it would be too traumatic to take him back there. Ben ended up suggesting I take him to a Vet especially since it was Friday and he didn't want us to go through the weekend like that. He suggested a Vet he frequently refers people/pets to and they were fantastic. Very receptive to my issue, got me in immediately and treated the problem perfectly. I couldn't have asked for more. Ben generously took responsibility for the Vet bill (which those of you pet owners know, is never small). I gave 4 stars due to Cathy the Groomer, who got us into this situation, but I would still without a doubt recommend Kosmos and I cannot say how fantastically Ben handled this situation. I only wish I could be as good in my own business as he is in his. Ben did tell me by the way, he takes these issues quite seriously and would deal with this issue and I truly believe he will. read more

Disappointed. I was turned away because they did not have my two dogs current vaccination records and they neglected to mention this when I scheduled the appointment. I spoke to them three times prior to my dogs appointment. I bring my dogs in regularly to get nails done, purchase pet supplies, treats and medicine. They lost me as a customer because the receptionist was very unprofessional. If I was told ahead of time or when I booked appointment to bring in current vaccination records I would have no problem. Very disappointed because I did not have time to go home to get the vaccination records and bring the dogs back. They also were going to order eyedrops for my dog and they never followed through with the order. :( read more

I am so glad I found this place. After looking for a lot of groomers I decided to give this place a try. They did not disappoint. I have a ShitZu and because it was summer I want her to be shaved off. I was scared at the beginning but she ended up so gorgeous and I have to mentioned she was beyond happy. We recently lost our 15 year old boxer and she was very depressed and after this hair cut she was so extremely happy that made me wonder. So I decided to call the place, I wanted to say thank you but I started joking saying " Hey I don't know what treat you guys used but it worked". So they mentioned that they use Aromatherapy to calm the dogs down. I never heard such a thing for dogs but I was super grateful because after that she was a new dog and she did better with her depression. I have to drive a bit to get there but I don't mind because I know that they care for my Fifi and the staff is super friendly. read more

Kosmos has a very friendly staff and is very convenient. When I can, I use the self wash. When time doesn't permit - I use Amanda for my dogs. She is an amazing groomer, formerly from Desert Knight Grooming - and my dogs love her. Kat, the owner is very friendly and Ben and Chase are as helpful as can be. I also purchase my dog food there now - and receive a free self wash for each bag purchased! One stop shopping! My dogs usually manage to pick out a toy as well!!! I recently took my two goldens to get groomed here. My youngest is 10 months old and this was going to be her first grooming appointment. I told the owner that my youngest is a little funny about having her tail touched, as I wanted the groomers to be aware of this. I was very pleased with the customer service and knowledge they have of grooming Goldens. I felt like they really listened to what I wanted for both of my dogs and they made sure that my pups first time was a positive experience. They called me back within 2 hours of me dropping them off...which is nice. They assured me that they both were laying on fluffy beds and both had water to drink. When I picked hem up they looked amazing and even had festive Valentine's Day bandanas on. I will definetely be back and recommend this groomer to all my friends. I was fortunate that my friend referred me to Kosmos as I was looking for a groomer. My 2 rescue dogs, that I have had for the past nine years, are like children to me. Boy was I glad I met Lisa at Kosmos!!!! I strolled in for information on the grooming and Lisa greeted me with kindness and warmth. After getting the grooming details she asked me what food I fed my dogs. HUH? It was something only my vet ever asked as he was always concerned with my dogs being just slightly overweight. Well, IAMS is what I have fed my dogs for years (with no complaint from my vet). Lisa then asked if my dogs lick their paws, and YES.... it drove me and my hubby nuts. Well, Lisa proceeded to explain to me that my dogs may be allergic to their food; apparently some dogs have an allergy to chicken (which is what I was feeding them). Well, long story short..... I decided to give this Earthborn dog food a try and let me tell you.....my dogs are IN HEAVEN! No more licking, their stool looks so much better, and they are excited to eat. My little min pin would circle her dog food everyday and took over an hour to eat and now she eats in 2 minutes and then stares at me for more food!! It brings tears to my eyes. I am such an animal lover and it truly broke my heart to think I have been feeding them dog food for 9 YEARS that did not agree with them. Poor babies!!! Thank you Lisa for your tremendous knowledge about dog food and the recommendation for Earthborn! It is worth every penny!!!! Your kindness and concern will not be forgotten. I was in recently and the so-called "owner," some young gal, was verbally abusing one of her employees clearly in earshot of everyone in the store. I felt bad because I get great service from the groomers, but it was so awkward and embarrassing I don't know if I will return. I know they are under new ownership but this girl seemed to be in over her head. I hope they can straighten things out because I would really like to return as they are usually quite friendly, knowledgeable, and friendly. One star for management. 5 stars for groomers! read more

called to inquire on pricing for wash and brush only for my pet, quoted $17.00, made a appointment to have this done and no one said at the time i made this appointment that the cost would be more if one of the groomers did the job. When i came in to pick my dog up they told me it would be $70.00. I was taken back because no one told it would cost that much if they did the work. Asked how it went from $17.00 to $70.00, they told me that the cheaper price was if I did the self wash, someone should have said that the cost would be more if they did the work. To pay $70.00 for a wash and brush is crazy because to have my dog groomed is only $85.00. They said they were sorry for the error and offered me a big discount of $10.00. If you misquote your price for service you eat the difference, because of your mistake. Will never be back, there lack of customer service is the worst I have ever seen. Cannot tell you the type of work they do, but I can tell you that they have no interest in keeping customers happy and wanting they to come back. This a small business with employees with no concept of how to run a business. Will spread the word. read more

Myself and my family members have been clients of this business for years, but it has recently been bought out by a new owner. Since the change in ownership, I have had nothing but bad experiences. Not only do clients enter the business without recognition, but they have an exteremtly unprofessional work ethic. On my last visit there, A DOG GOT LOST. When dropping off my pet a good samaritan entered the businiess to check if a dog had gone missing. The staff quickly responded no seeming to pay no attention to the samaritans claims. Upon picking up my dog TWO HOURS LATER, the employees realized that they indeed had lost a dog. It so happens that is was the same description as the dog that was picked up by the samaritan hours before. Hopefully the dog is eventually returned to the owner. The last thing you think when trying to pamper your pet is that you will never see them again. DO NOT GO THERE! read more
