Being a 'senior', an age-appropriate regimen was essential; our group is varied in age but the workouts (which are varied) work for all.

For most of my life, I was in pretty decent shape. I was satisfied with my health and outer…read moreappearance. I had high self confidence, and I was unable to identify with what it was like to be "unhappy" with myself. Post undergraduate school and during my first year in my career, all of that quickly changed. Within months I gained weight, my eating habits were out of control, and I had zero motivation to change any of it. Here and there I would attempt a new diet or try becoming more active. I was extremely inconsistent and because of that I didn't see any results. As this cycle continued, I began to notice a change within myself. Not with just how I looked or how I believed people viewed me, but I began to battle with internal issues. I was "unhappy" with myself. My confidence was at an all time low, my relationships with important people in my life started to shift, and I was miserable with the person I was. Fast forward to April 2018. My fiancé and I walked into CrossFit JagLion completely unaware of what to expect. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I was honestly only there because my fiancé begged me to try it with him. Previously, I heard horror stories about the sport, and I was terrified of what I may be encountering. However, the experience we have had since becoming members of this gym is indescribable. Irving and Gina go above and beyond to not only make you feel like family, but to make you a better version of yourself. I've learned not to focus on the number on the scale. I've learned to primarily pay attention to my body. The two of them celebrate every victory you accomplish! They truly want what's best for each and everyone of us. I've never been more excited about my personal fitness. I'm grateful for my new gym family, and I cannot thank them enough for providing a positive atmosphere that I enjoy! If you would've asked me a year ago what my hobby was, I promise you I never would have imagined I'd be saying "CrossFit."
