Unlike other stores, every item is clearly labeled so no fun price surprises at the cash register. They have a very good selection of beer, and if they don't have what you're looking for, they will order it for you! They also gave me a 10% discount for ordering a case. The Belgian beer I get is 5 cents more across the street at Trader Joes (big whoop) but the 20 minutes Of peace I gain by not having to venture into that madness and wait in line is priceless:) plus trader joe's only has but 1 flavor.

My experience has been very positive as a frequent visitor to Boston for many years I often return to this store because it has a very decent range of beer and wine to suit a range of budgets and tastes, plus, I have found the staff to be friendly and helpful, despite others experiences suggesting otherwise. Perhaps next time you are in make an effort to talk with them?! I mean I would rather have someone real than the usual fake 'service' you get in most US stores so give the fella's a break heh?!

If you live in the Washington Sq. area and need a place to grab beers/liquor/wine quickly, this place is great. It's definitely more expensive than places in Coolidge Corner, but sometimes traveling that extra distance just isn't worth it. The selection here is fine. Nothing out of this world, but you can find some good beer, some generic beer, wine, and liquor. The staff has never been rude to me - usually they let me peruse and walk around without saying much or they offer to help me find something.

Their beer and wine selection is much more extensive, but still nothing special. After all, the store is on the smaller side and can only fit so much. I do appreciate how much is refrigerated. On my most recent visit, I was taken aback by the prices. For 8 ciders and the cheapest bottle of sauvignon blanc my total came to $43. Wild! Especially considering the wine was $11 if I remember correctly. I have read reviews in the past complaining about how strict they are regarding identification. This is SHOCKING to me because I've only been ID'd there once. Once! And for context I'm 22...certainly baby faced and should 100% be getting carded when buying alcohol. In terms of customer service, I have yet to have a positive or negative interaction. Notably, I have never been asked if I need assistance finding something. There are often men talking behind the counter and no employees walking around the store offering assistance. I will likely continue shopping here just out of convenience, but would not recommend anyone going out of their way to visit this establishment.

BSL offers a great selection of beer, wine and spirits in Roxbury, there are not any other similar stores in the immediate area that offer the range of booze that BSL does. I have been shopping here for years and while the staff probably cannot recommend a great wine, they have an amazing selection of quality wine at really great prices. Beyond the surprising wine selection is a great staff; a few years ago I asked them to carry a particular beer, they were happy to oblige and the store now carries a nice selection of decent beer. Also noteworthy is the cheap/sale items that they have, you can pickup a great bottle of wine for $5 that would be priced at $10- $15 at other places or other random things here for cheap!
