The next time I visited was a few months later and she was re-reading my past results and told me I had gallstones. I asked her why didn't you tell me this information when I had the telehealth visit, she said she forgot to turn the page. The second time was when I was getting a checkup. She told me I was missing the last dose for a vaccine, I had only gotten two doses. The second vaccine I had taken was over a year ago. I told her that no one informed me that I needed a third vaccine otherwise I would have scheduled it. She said I was the one who needed to schedule the vaccine appointment. I was going to the doctor's office consistently so she failed to notice that I needed an additional vaccine for a year. She never apologized for her office's mistake or took any accountability. Her secretaries barely speak any English so it is hard to get anything done. For example, I was at a radiology office and Dr. Xu forgot to sign the referral order. Her office refuted that the referral was not signed. The intake person repeated what she said over three times. They eventually faxed over the referral but it was not signed. This incident wasted 30 minutes of my time because of Dr. Xu office's uncooperativeness. The last incident was that I asked her office for a letter with my medical conditions and treatments for work purposes. She told me that she has no responsibility to provide me any documentation. This is a clear violation of my hipaa rights.

Dr. Tang has been my family's doctor since my father was in high school. He's a reliable doctor. I…read moredon't think I ever encountered him being on vacation. He's a old school work horse. I've been coming here since I was literally an infant. Dr. Tang and his receptionist are really nice people. Dr. Tang speaks English, Cantonese, and mandarin while his receptionist can speak the same as him but also Taiwanese which is great for our family. I've gotten my blood work done here many times and never experienced any difficulties. I don't have anything really bad to say about Dr. Tang other than his handwriting. His doctor notes for when I was a student were some of the worse doctor notes I ever seen in my life. My teachers and I could barely make out what he scribbled on paper. His office is no longer in Jackson Heights. Way back in the day, it was near Newtown High School on Corona Ave in one of those orange brick buildings which is now demolished. His new location is listed below. To get here, simply take the M or R train to Grand Ave Newtown and his office is right around the corner from the deli and Gino's Pizzeria. Cash or check only. For bank ATM, the nearest HSBC, Chase bank is about a 5 minute walk away on Queens Blvd. The office is closed on Wednesdays and I suggest making an appointment ahead of time. Walk-in visits usually wait a long time. I noticed during every visit since he moved to Justice Ave, his office has gotten much busier. A simple appointment through the phone will help save you time when you need to visit. 87-08 Justice Ave. Suite 1-I Elmhurst, NY 11373

So I make an appointment to see Dr Tang who is my default insurance PCP with my new health plan. I…read morearrive and the secretary asks me to fill out a scrap sheet of paper with no markings on it, she asked me to put my name number address ect and takes a copy of my insurance card. She hands me a pencil that has been sharpened in such a way that there is about a quarter inch of graphite sticking out and it looks like any pressure beyond resting it on the paper will snap it. She says the co pay is $60 I offer to pay with an HSA VISA card she says cash or check only. That would have been nice information to have when I called and made the appointment. I ask if there is an ATM in the building, she says she thinks there is one around the corner. I step out of the building and the door closes behind me, a woman asks me f this is dr tangs office, I say yes, she asks how o get in because the door man was not at his post and there was no one to press the button. I said I was going to find an ATM and hope a door man gets back when I return. A quarter mile walk to the nearest chase ATM a with drawl and a quarter mile walk back in the rain and thankfully the door man has returned. I return to the office and the secretary seemed surprised that I came back. Now I meet Dr Tang, the first thing I noticed was that English is not his first language and he doesn't speak it very well. I have no problem with immigration, I don't care where people come from or how they get here and I appreciate anyone trying to learn the English language. But I was hoping I would not have to talk about my medical history with someone who I truffle to express myself to. I told him I have had hearing loss since I was 2 years old. He responds saying eating loss for two years. I correct him saying oven had hearing loss since I was 2 years old. He repeats, yes 2 years. I don't think he understood what I was trying to say to him. He had to take some blood and I explained I have a tendency to faint during blood tests, it's my one character flaw. The blood test went fine, but when it was done I fainted. I was in a chair with no arms and woke up with my face planted on the floor and his assistant and another patient trying to help me up. I was ten asked to pee in a cup (a plastic disposable drinking cup) and pour it in a vial. Ignoring the fact that the sample is contaminated by what ever is in the plastic cup the idea that I was expected to carefully pour my own urine from a wide rimmed cup to a skinny rimmed vial seemed like something a hidden camera show would do. Thankfully I didn't spill any urine and returned the sample vial to the tray. Another thing I feel I have to mention was that in his office I noticed a container labeled used sharps (a common site to see in a medical office) but I also noticed that the safety lid wasn't on and there was nothing from preventing them from spilling for would be knocked over. That's like a huge thing in my book, it shows he is careless and doesn't put safety first. So that's my epic review. I'm planning on changing PCPs ASAP

RUDE, BOSSY, INCONSIDERATE SUPPORT STAFF AND PSYCHO DOCTOR…read moreFind another gastrointestinologist. After my first colonoscopy, two staffers woke me up and immediately started telling me, "Sit up! Stand up! Get up! Walk!", etc. - AFTER I HAD JUST WOKEN UP FROM A GENERAL ANESTHESIA! I mentioned it to the staff and to Dr. Wang before my next procedure, and had another colonoscopy and an endoscopy which were fine. But it was back to the same old song & dance for my most recent endoscopy. I even reminded Dr. Wang before the procedure about this problem in order to avoid a repetition, but it was no use. Another staffer did this to me as I was coming out of anesthesia. After the procedure, I complained to the desk staff, and got treated like I was the one who did something wrong! Dr. Wang himself came out and TACKLED me as I was waiting for the bathroom! Yes, PHYSICALLY grabbed me, roughed me up, accused ME of being abusive, and threatened to call the police on me! All this for the "crime" of asking to be treated with a little respect. If you've never had a colonoscopy or endoscopy before, let me tell you it is not a pleasant experience. The day prior to and morning of a colonoscopy you have to drink this solution that makes you poop out everything inside of you, and comes out of you in a liquid form. So you're on the throne about every 30 minutes. The day of the procedures, you have to fast all day (AND the day before for a colonoscopy) and aren't allowed to drink ANYTHING - even WATER. On top of that, I'm 57. These gals who did this to me were definitely younger than me. So much for the sacred, ancient Oriental custom of treating your elders with respect. Given the discomfort of the prep and the procedure itself, you'd think they could do a little more to make patients comfortable and make an unpleasant experience as painless as possible for their patients. Well, think again. They're more concerned with clearing out the OR for the next patient. I can understand the need to stay on a schedule, but this is overkill. I'd rather face a long waiting period if it means that during and after my procedure I can be treated with a modicum of respect and consideration.
