One lap around Aldi and you're suddenly that person who "just whips things up": The produce drop is borderline criminal, $1.49 organic avocados the size of softballs, $0.89 pineapples that perfume your entire car, and those little Persian cucumbers we all hoard like crypto. The Special Buy aisle (Aisle of Dreams) lands limited-edition treasures weekly: last Wednesday it gifted us the $89 air-fryer toaster oven, the $19.99 cashmere-feel throw blankets, and the viral $4.99 French rosé that tastes like $40 Provençal sunshine. Cheese selection that humiliates fancy grocers: $3.49 aged cheddar reserves, truffle Brie under $5, and the infamous $2.99 Emporium Selection brie that has ended friendships when it sells out. Pantry royalty: $1.89 organic fair-trade coffee, $2.49 peanut butter powder, and the legendary $0.89 Greek yogurt we all pretend isn't better than the $9 stuff. Universal Aldi styling commandments (works for every human) 10-minute dinner flex: grab the $4.99 fresh Atlantic salmon + everything-bagel seasoning + frozen Mediterranean veg sheet-pan royalty. Snack drawer supremacy: $1.99 dark-chocolate sea-salt bars + those protein-packed peanut-butter cups = gym bag MVP. Hosting cheat code: $3.99 Moser Roth chocolate + $2.99 baguette + $4 brie wheel = instant charcuterie legend. Bring your own bag and a quarter; we're all part of the cult now. Aldi doesn't just save you money; it hands you a quietly luxurious life at 60% off. I leave every time looking like I meal-prep in cashmere. Tell me, legends: what's your ride-or-die Aldi find this week?

My friend found out about this small artisan food market that was being held on Lincoln Road in the…read morerun up to the Food and Wine Festival. I love Lincoln Road and all of its art deco architecture so it was fun to take a little road trip to check out the market in one of my favorite Miami locales. Lincoln Road is a historic road in South Beach with restaurants and shops. It is closed to cars so you have to find parking on one of the side streets or at one of the city lots nearby. We lucked out with parking but Waze sent me off to the market in the wrong direction. If it wasn't so hot out I would have really enjoyed the extra exploration of Lincoln Road. Eventually we got turned around in the right direction and found the market next to a vintage market that was also being held. That is the thing you can really love about Lincoln Road, there is always something going on. Once we finally found the market it was a greatest hits of some of the best local prepared food vendors in the area. These are the folks who don't have a brick and mortar location so you follow them on Facebook or Instagram to see where they will pop up. We ran into our friends from Sinabuns who we last saw at Dessert Wars at the airport convention center. Also on hand was Better Than Your Mother's who makes cookies so decadent that they are laced with edible gold. She kindly gave us a sample of the best chocolate chip cookie I have ever eaten. I Knead More was selling outrageously delicious guava and cheese babka but I was most excited to find a booth selling four medium stone crab claws for $17. Stone crab claws are God's Christmas present to Floridians. Yes they are expensive but they are so succulent and sweet and only here for a short time. I bought a box and dug in with my friend. An extravagance befitting the holidays. The market even had a booth where you could scan a QR code and enter online to try and win tickets to the SOBE Food and Wine festival. Tickets run from the $100 and up price range per event so wish me luck. This market was a nice way to support local businesses and get everyone excited about the upcoming festival. I am so glad I had a chance to check it out.
