But if you are, Temalpakh Farm has extremely fresh, home grown produce and some other products produced by fellow Native Americans from the Western US. How did I get here? I went to Desert X 2025 (which I adore) and one of the art installations was on this site. Yes, they make you drive to weird and wonderful places for the biennial art scavenger hunt. The farm site has a new parking lot, an elevated outdoor seating area that is great for hosting company events or parties (as long as it is not in the hot summer months) and even a pond with a water fountain that might double as part of their irrigation system. When I was was there in May, some of the seasonal produce included heirloom tomatoes, squash blossoms, butter lettuce and artichokes. What could possibly be the best thing in the farmer's market is their smoothie stand. This being the palm desert, a majority of their freshly made smoothies have dates in them! Palm Tree Brew (coffee cold brew, unsweetened almond milk, banana, dates, mesquite powder, honey, date syrup, salt) - Okay, a coffee date shake is not for everyone, but if that's your thing, they make a great one. It's a perfect balance of everything, you can taste the coffee, the dates, the banana, the honey. All the ingredients were fresh, served smooth blended, nice and cold. A safer bet for most would be to stick with one of the other fruity date shakes here. Palm Tree is general date shake, Berri Crunch has mixed berries and dates, the Hulk has dates, spinach, kale, carrots, avocado, apple juice and pineapple juice, Green Feather has dates, banana, apple, avocado, kale, spinach and Farm's Dragon has dragon fruit, dates, pineapple, banana, chia/flaxseed and shredded coconut. The physical farm is very beautiful with fruit trees everywhere. The market is clean and bright, full of items I would like to buy and also give as gifts from local farmers. I saw vegetables and handcrafted oils, soaps, native basketry, and the beautiful smoothie bar. I bought the most fragrant kale, plump green onions, russet potatoes, berry with ginger jam and a spicy hot sauce. The farm brings in products from other local businesses. The farm is easy to reach from Indio or Palm Desert. Having organic treasures like this is such a treat. Do check it out.

Easy to find but parking can be difficult at times. FACILITY: perfect location for a farmers market, lots of vendors and open spaces. They seem to be dog friendly which is unusual for most open markets. SELECTION: all kinds of things from fruits and vegetables to handmade crafts. Lots of vendor food as well as local restaurants to choose from Tamales are great. OVERALL VALUE: while it is fun, it is really expensive for fresh produce. Not sure why that is but we just look around and seldom purchase anything as most of it seems overpriced. TIP: Get there when it opens, parking is easier and lines at the popular booths are shorter.

But it's not crowded and easy to walk through. Cako just lead me down the long aisle and our first stop was True Pet Kitchen. She didn't want the chicken treat but she was all over the salmon one! So we bought a bag...err...I bought her a bag. We then wandered down to Kettner. She then pulled me over to Stark, and the friendly guy offered a duck jerky, which she was happy to take. She then sat down for another, and he obliged. So I bought a bag from them too! We stopped at the Honeymoon Ranch stand for some baked goods! There was a man loading up a suitcase and apparently he bought all the banana bread. We scored our own, which was all for me. The pavilion does have a decent amount of parking in the lot. Literally right next door to the community pool. It's also where the vintage market that happens once a month is held as well. The market is free to get in. Pets aren't allowed with signs posted out front. Once inside, everything is in the main room. First impression, wow it looked pretty cramped. They have a good amount of vendors on deck but majority of the vendors are produce and fruits. It's kind of a given as it's a farmers market. Also a few bakery and specialty stalls were also set up. There's not really a marked path to follow but make your own way. It can get packed as the room is filled with stalls and customers. Downfall, I didn't see any vendors with fresh cut flowers. Loads of fruits on displays and very colorful. Compared to the outside market, I feel like this one is lacking in a sense of vendors. I don't know if they rotate who can sell each week or if everyone that was there this weekend was the usuals. Don't get me wrong, there's loads of fresh produce and fruits on display but it was a bit too cramped for me. I prefer it outside but with the desert heat, this is definitely better for everyone and everything.
