I would not recommend Kirbo Law firm for a Probate matter. I needed an attorney to help me handle a…read morevery simple probate case. Not being from the area, I relied on a friend of a friend recommendation. I hired Aurora Kirbo to handle this for me. While the paperwork was eventually filed, I found that Mrs. Kirbo lacked the compassion and empathy necessary to deal with a grieving family member who has never been thru the probate process. She did not keep me updated on the process and did not return phones calls. I had to call the office repeatedly to follow up and get my appointment with the judge scheduled. At the end of my appointment with the judge which was a very emotional day for me, I stood in the hall and waited for her while she stayed in the judges chambers to discuss football. When I had a follow up question after my filing was completed, it took me 3 weeks and 3 messages to get in touch with her and this was only because on my 4th time calling she happened to answer the phone. While to my knowledge the actual legal work was done correctly (hence the generous 2 stars) I would not recommend her or hire her again.

It didn't take long for someone to call me and give me all the details, explained to me what all would happen, and said I could call any time and ask for updates. And when I did call for updates, she was always very willing to talk to me, reassure me, etc. Even though I didn't personally talk with Patrick, he took care of my case and the outcome was better than I had expected. I highly recommend this law firm. Thanks Patrick, I appreciate what you did for me!

If I could rate with negative stars I would. This is by far the most unorganized law office I have…read moreever been in contact with. I initially contacted them to help with filing an uncontested divorce. I paid $400 for filing fees and everything and was told the papers would be done and emailed to me. As soon as they received the money they wouldn't answer the phone, had a full mailbox for messages, and didn't respond to emails for days upon days. Once I finally got the papers to sign I drove the 30 miles to the office to drop them off so they wouldn't be delayed any longer. I was told they would take 2 months max to have the final divorce order and I could move on with my life. That was in April. It's now August and I still haven't received anything and emails and calls go unanswered due to vacations. I finally got in contact with the office only to be told that it would be at least until the end of the month because it takes 31 days after filing. Although I gave the final signed papers in APRIL! I highly recommend spending your money anywhere else! These people are seriously in need of help and are extremely rude when you finally do get in contact with them.

He always made sure we had what we needed before starting. He listened to everything I had to say, took notes, and remembered everything, even weeks to months after going over the information with him. He encouraged me to take the high road and be patient when the other side did anything I thought was hurtful. Mr. Spurlin and his staff always looked out for my long-term interests. They always tried to not waste my time with anything unnecessary or run up my bill. They were aware of how things add up in a hurry. He fought hard to have my case treated fairly. At the end, I was very satisfied with the outcome of the divorce. Everything was fair and reasonable. I was not happy about the divorce but was happy about the arrangements with finances, children, and other considerations. I would recommend Mr. Spurlin again to anyone who is about to go through a difficult time and needs legal help.
