BEWARE... Hiring the Kerendian Law office for a real estate matter turned out to be the biggest…read moremistake. When I hired the firm, I had a hazard on my property. So there was some urgency to get my case resolved. The problem was that my lawyer, Tom, waited WEEKS to substitute into my case, which obviously prevented any filings and caused delay. The owner Shab's response, "We aren't breaking any laws", then proceeded to become angry and begin yelling at me and then threatened to quit just for my bringing it up the valid issue. It gets worse. After the firm finally got around to filing paperwork for a default, the owner Shab reaches out and congratulates me for the request being entered or granted. The problem was that the court documents didn't reflect that and Shab figured the clerk erred. But when I asked him to check with the court to verify, Shab refused and said we would be fine. Then months later at our next hearing, my attorney finds himself arguing with the judge after being informed that the firm had erred once again and our request had indeed been rejected. But it was all for not. Turns out that so much time and energy and tens of thousands of dollars of my money had been wasted all because the Kerendian firm didn't do their due diligence and failed to serve all the proper parties in my case!! Then when I addressed yet another egregious error by the firm, the owner Shab refused to own up to their actions. Instead, the firm played the victim and claimed they felt like they were being "attacked" and requested for the judge to be subbed out of my case. So basically the firm ran for the hills all after I paid it nearly $20,000 dollars for a case supposedly in default. With all the damaged caused to my case by the Kerendian firm, as well as it overcharging me, it refused to do the honorable thing and return the money I requested. So my family is taking the firm to court for negligence and malpractice. We also fittingly filed an official complaint with the California State Bar. Learn from my family's experience and be sure to do a thorough background check on a potential attorney - including past court records. Good luck! She stopped answering my calls and I was only able to hear her voice for a few seconds when I was calling from somebody else's phone. 5 months later she mailed me a check without a signature, then asked to mail it back to her. I did. She claimed she never "received" it. Sangary's mother lives in Odessa, Ukraine and happens to be my mom's acquaintance. Svitlana Sangary was visiting with her mother in December 2011 and my mother asked her for a favor - to deliver $3,000 to me. Svitlana Sangary agreed and took $3000 cash from my mother. My mother is 90% blind 73 year old lady, and it's hard for her to utilize bank wire transfer or DHL services. This money was a present to her granddaughter, who turned 15 on Dec 24. I didn't let my mother know that this horrible person did. She is losing her eye sight when she gets nervous. How can I not let people know what kind of a person they are dealing with?!!!!!!! How can someone who is not hungry and does not need money to feed or treat hungry or sick children just keep someone else's money? She charges people hundreds of $$ per hour. She makes a lot of money. She is not needy!!!! I still cannot believe this happened. It must be made known to people. A year after I wrote this review I got SUED by Svitlana Sangary for defamation. She sued over 50!!!!!!!! people in the same case for the same charge - they wrote bad reviews about her on Yelp, Rip-Off Report, etc... It cost me over $4000 in lawyer's fees and tones of my time, effort and nervous energy: I had to respond to numerous SPECIAL INTERROGATORIES, discovery requests, etc... etc... Finally she dropped the charges at the court session (and that's why we couldn't collect these fees) in which the judge tentatively assigned the lawyer's fees to my wonderful lawyer, Harvey Katzman, who had already defended Sangary's victims before and won the cases. Luckily she got disbarred for malpractice, but unfortunately only temporarily. For a year or 2 if I'm not mistaken. So beware!!!!!!

My elderly mother sought their help after her business partner stopped sending her dividends, completely cutting her out of the business. During our initial consultation, Barack assured us that this was a straightforward, slam-dunk case. We paid $25,000 upfront, expecting diligent representation, but after four months, nothing had been done--not even basic communication with the opposing attorney. When an update hearing took place, the firm failed to address the crucial issue of my mother not receiving payments. How does an attorney stand in front of a judge and accomplish nothing? It felt as though Barack was intentionally dragging out the process just to keep billing us. I trusted him, in part because he presented himself as a person of faith, but unfortunately, our trust was misplaced. This firm seemed more focused on collecting fees than actually advocating for my mother. Extremely disappointed in the lack of action and professionalism.
