I had the first fence put in by Fences Unlimited over twenty years ago (Outstanding Quality) I Placed my order on March 18th to have 200 feet of the same fence removed and replaced. I was quoted a 7-8 week lead time based on weather. Weather was terrible April and May and fences unlimited still was able to stay on schedule and install my fence within 8 weeks. This was a two-day installation and the workers arrived early each day. They were always kind courteous and professional . They practiced social distancing and wore mask every day. They cleaned up after each other every day and the fence looks beautifully !!!! If you want it done right and on time then Fences Unlimited is the only way to go. I called Fences Unlimited and asked them if they carried a certain model of New England Arbors light post. They confirmed they had them, so I went right over to purchase 2 of them. When I went in the store I let them know that I had called earlier, and also showed them the print out from New England Arbors site that showed the particular light post I was speaking of. They said they had them in stock so I paid for them, and they told me to go around the back of the building to pick them up. When I did go around back to pick up, the attendant looked at my receipt and started to put pieces of light poles in my vehicle. I was looking at the illustration and the pieces, and something didn't look right. I showed the attendant the brochure, and asked if this was the brand and model light pole he was giving me, and he said no, it doesn't look like it. I asked him if they had that particular New England Arbors light post in a box complete (as I know they come in boxes from the factory because we have used them on another house), and he said no, we just have "our own brand". The bottom line is, the representative from Fences Unlimited was completely dishonest with me, both on the phone, and at the counter, when telling me they had these particular New England Arbors light poles, when in fact they never had them at all. They were trying to pass of their own brand to me, that looked nothing like the ones I wanted. It's a good thing I didn't take the poles home and find out there it was wrong, because I would've wasted more time driving all the way back and returning them. I then called another fence company in Worcester MA who said they had the exact light poles I wanted and where in the factory boxes. I should have known not to deal with them, as I had called them a while back for an estimate on a fence and installation, which they came out to look at, and were supposed to get back to me on a certain model fence we wanted, and never called me back. These people installed fence and they even dont care asking me where are sprinkler is system running. They just digged holes and cut my wire and left some sprinklers outside of fence. When i ask them they say we dont cover and we are not responsible for it under contract. Very unproffessional and will not recommend at all. read more

In March of 2019 I contacted Fences Unlimited to repair a section, and install a new section of fence. After receiving a few quotes, I called Sue to let them know they'd won the bid. The next step was a deposit and determining a work date. Four months later, and at least 20 phone calls, I finally heard back and was able to give an deposit. A month later, I called for an update, and they had "forgotten" to order my materials, and the work wouldn't be done for another month. I was PROMISED a date in September, but at the end of that month, and additional phone calls later, I was told NOVEMBER. Disgusted I said, absolutely not, now or never. Two weeks later, the work wasn't scheduled, the job was never done, and I asked for my money back. Miraculously they had a sudden opening for service, but I declined. That was six weeks ago, and I still haven't received my money back. This company is fraudulent, and I'm disgusted I ever put my truck and money in them. Stay away! UPDATE 12/10/19 Saw the response from the Better Business Bureau. They lied several times regarding our communication. When the owner finally called me back, he called his assistant, Sue, "stupid" because "she was supposed to return the money weeks ago". So unprofessional. read more

The process was easy, the estimator was professional, timely, and communicated clearly the price, and what the wait was (about an 8 week wait, not a problem with us). The firm called about a week prior to installation with an approximate install day (a Friday). The installation team came that Thursday and were extremely professional, friendly, and the team leader's communication was excellent. The installation itself looks great and is right where we had asked. If we ever want to extend the fence line we'll contact them again for sure! read more

Fence was installed efficiently two years ago. Looked great. Workers didn't cut up the lawn getting it all done. To begin with, the office staff was competent and efficient. The estimate person came around as scheduled and on time. The fence was installed according to plan and well-executed. Two years later, a panel came loose in the wind, and it looked like something had sheared off but I didn't know, so I called, and they told me a guy would be there within the next two weeks. He showed up, politely, and fixed the problem then and there. he said if it happened again to call him and he would work that panel a little bit but it shouldn't be a big issue. No charge, very friendly. I stand by this outfit as they seem to have their act together! read more

Fences Unlimited installed a beautiful swingset (it's more like a luxury suite for kids) this week in our backyard! The whole process was seamless - from ordering, scheduling the install and day of install each representative we spoke to was so kind and knowledgeable. The final product is truly impressive - the quality and attention to detail was more than what we expected. Bill and Austin took great care in discussing the location of the swingset before install, and truly were so kind and positive on a less than ideal day (cold & windy). This was not the least expensive option we found in our research BUT we are SO happy with the final product, WELL worth it. Had a fence installed in June 2017 and seven out of the nine fence posts were cracked. Fences Unlimited had designed a longer section to avoid a 1.5' section and when they installed it, the rail sections didn't align (fence was 9.5' long, the cap/rail comes in 8' lengths, so they had to patch it). We were never informed when the installation date would occur, I happened to be home when the truck arrived in the morning. After sending pictures and going back and forth on whether the posts were naturally "checking" or truly cracked, the manager agreed to swap out the fence posts. Again, they showed up without warning. I had a discussion with the kids installing and asked that they please put something down to protect the new sod and be gentle around the new landscaping. Came home from work to find saw dust and pieces of cuttings all over the sod and one of my hydrangea bushes literally split in half. There's no need to damage property due to carelessness. I would not recommend this company. read more

We were emailed that the fence would be installed between July 30th and August 4th. To our pleasant surprise they actually showed up on the 25th and had the fence up before the 30th. Ugh, don't bother with this place. Called for a quick quote and talked with Rusty, From the get go it seemed like I was bothering Rusty by asking for a quote. Despite this I trudged forward. Admittedly I only needed two fence panels and three posts. I was only aware of the style of fence I wanted but didn't not know the exact height and what type of post I wanted. Rusty was not very helpful and told me I should download their catalog. Many of the answers Rusty provided were one word and rather than trying to help me through the process he seemed like he had better things to do. I'll take my business elsewhere and so should you IMHO. read more

We had a wooden fence around our pool that was getting rickety, and wanted to add a fenced area next to it for a safe place for our dog to go in and out through a dog door. Fences Unlimited created a layout that improved on the former scheme by skirting the pool heater and propane tanks. They told me the job was a couple of months out on their schedule, but could be finished before Thanksgiving, when the rest of the family would be joining us, including two more dogs. The week before the holiday, the fencing was almost done, but bad weather had held them up a bit. To keep their promise, they were out in the snow, putting on the last gate. They did a terrific job. We love the way it looks, and I can't wait to plant a climbing rose on that arbor! The whole team was friendly, polite and professional. They were clear about the costs and kept to their timeline. I had a terrible experience with fences unlimited. the only thing about them that is unlimited is the bad service and disorganization. I went there for a gas fireplace insert and paid for the unit on my first visit (bad idea) the salesperson would not take my calls after that and the woman who did speak to me three times, directly accused me of being the problem....which made thing worse....they mislead me on the availability...... it took over two months to get the fireplace insert kit, which I later found out theyhad in stock to begin with! I had to keep calling each Monday to see if it came in....because they would not call me and when I picked up the insert and assorted boxes of parts, they told me the fireplace cast iron front grill was not in, so I took what I could to start the install.....an additional three weeks later (after 3 Monday calls from me, to them, with no calls back...) the woman/secretary who is the only one that will talk to you after you make your purchase...not the sales man you delt with....finally answered the phone when I called, and said my front piece was in, so I went to pick it up. This is a special order item..... because with this line of gas insert fireplaces, fire~box is the same but the fronts can be changed to match your decor.....I picked up the piece and when I got home, I found the same size box in my pile of assorted parts boxes....only to discover they DID give me the front when I picked up the first round of boxes. Now for the fun part....the customer service person says that is a special order item and cant be returned, I suggested that she consult with a superior on that, since I had two of them, (and only paid for one) The cost for the front cover was over $800. So, I have a spare Cambridge style front for my fireplace! Un~be~lievable how ignorant and disorganized these people are....they eat the cost of the second grill and I post this...loose loose situation, so, for you I recommend a different place to buy your fence or fireplace..... read more

There was a chain link fence as part of our installation that they had to come back to complete. In the end we were very happy with Jack the salesman. In May 2021 we place an order with the this company that we purchases had the scoop on the top, we were under the impression that the gate was the same as the rest of the fence, guess NOT, the sales person Steve I guess the day was in the mood to give any customer service first all and I should had know better that this was going to work. When we went to get the gate the gate was strait across and did not mach the rest of the fence that we had purchases from them, we went back and the spoke with the Manager Eric and he said that is was going to do right by us, what he said and what is was going to do is not the same story, he was going to charge me additional $400 to produce the gate with the scoop to match the rest of the fence. I would NEVER BUY ANY OTHER MATERIAL FROM OR RECOMMEND THEM FOR ANY JOB stay way from FENCE UNLIMITTED the CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCK BIG TIME, not only from the sales personal but the Manager too. read more

Fences Unlimited just finished removing our old wooden fence and installing approximately 50 feet of vinyl privacy fence with lattice topper. The fence looks great and the installation was top notch. Despite hot and rainy weather, Randi and Cory were true craftsman and great installers who took their time and did things right. Final cleanup was superb, I couldn't even tell we had a fence replaced. They even fixed a gate in an attached section of chain link fence that had come out of alignment over the years. We were a little concerned with going from the look of wood to vinyl, but after seeing the final product we're glad we did. The materials and selection at Fences Unlimited is very good and Ken S. was a pleasure to deal with in the sales process. Even though the wait for the actual fence install was longer than we hoped, Ken was always very responsive to our emails about install status and moving dates. Called for a much-needed safety and regulation repair on a fence they installed. Was directed to leave a voicemail for service; no return call for 4 days. Called again several times on a Friday, no answer at all. Called again and got a different receptionist- with most rude and arrogant response; just kept saying they couldn't do anything until spring- 4-5 months away. They also let us know of any issues along the way and even made us a custom piece to make the gates we wanted, exactly the way we wanted them. STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!! I purchased a Pellet Stove & Pellet Grill from this company. I spent approximately $2,300 for both products and neither one of them work. I've had their technicians come over three times now, and the problems still have not been resolved. I've asked for a refund and they say they only give a refund within 30 days. However, I purchased the products in the Summer of 2016 (July) so it would not make sense to run a Pellet Stove during the hottest time of the season. I didn't notice anything wrong with the stove until I attempted to get it running for the winter. The technicians came out to my house three times because they had to re-wire the entire pellet stove because it was defective. The issues still have not been resolved and the company does not want to deal with it. They continue to play the email game, and expect me to re-wire everything instead of fixing it themselves. I have a 3 year old son that I must keep warm during the winter, and I have not been able to run the pellet stove in weeks. I've contacted several people from their organization but they do not want to do anything about it and expect me to do it myself. I wanted to give this company a chance at earning my business because they are a small company, but I strongly recommend people stay away from this piece of shit company.
