This is my first review on Yelp, but I feel compelled to leave one. We had a fence that collapsed due to pressure from climbing vegetation, and the FenceMaster team was perfect. They're in high demand, so it took us a while to get on their calendar for a quote. But they were very easy to communicate with. Jaime came to give us the quote, he gave us lots of options, explained everything and was extremely friendly. He gave us a quote that was far lower than a competing quote. Once we accepted the quote they actually managed to squeeze us into their busy calendar much sooner than we expected. On the day, his team came, and again, were friendly, professional, and courteous. They finished repairing the entire fence in one day, and even took care to make a few additional small repairs to stabilize both our fence and our adjoining neighbor's gate. I called Jamie to fix a 50 year old fence that had blown over with the winds we have had. We made arrangements that he would come by in the morning to take a look at the job and provide me a quote. If I accepted the quote, he would likely fit me into his schedule the same day between jobs. Here's the best part, he said he would text me on his way in the morning and he did! Everyone says they will call or text and I can't remember a time when someone actually follows through. Jamie explained some of my options. Go with Jaime and FenceMaster. Worth the wait. You know when you pass by a restaurant and there is always a line? There is a reason for that. Jaime and his crew do very good work and their prices are reasonable. You need to call a little bit in advance of when you need the work done, but that is a good thing. In general, the fence guys who can show up right away either don't do good work or are overpriced. Jaime and FenceMaster are neither of those things. Workmanship - excellent Materials - excellent Communications - excellent Pricing - reasonable Shows up on time - check Courteous - check Honest and fair - check Licensed and Insured - check Warranty their work - check You can tell Jaime cares about the quality of his work. He'll suggest better ways to do the fencing than what you had originally and it isn't to upsell you or anything. It is just because that is a better way to do things. They are careful not to damage any irrigation pipes and they call 811 to have the utility mark off their areas. I also liked that Jaime is onsite doing the work with his crew. You know that if you communicate something with Jaime there won't be any miscommunication later on with a different onsite lead. When they do your fence, they spend the time to dig your holes the proper depth even if the material they are digging is difficult to work with. They had to dig out a post that was embedded in a concrete walkway, which leaves a lot less room to work with. No damage to the walkway. They spend a lot of time on the posts and frame. Some fence contractors do some leveling mixed with eyeballing. Not Jaime, they are constantly leveling horizontally and vertically, accounting for any shifts along the way. You can be confident everything will be trued. Just like when you do a puzzle and work on the outside edges first, once they have the frame in place, and everything leveled properly, it is relatively easy to put all the panels in and the work goes much quicker, but that is because of the time they spent in the beginning getting everything prepared right. Their basic gate hardware is decent. Not the lowest end hardware like some will put in. Very smooth operation and the gate fits very nicely. No gaps at the edges for the outside to look in. The redwood panels they select are pretty good. They get their wood from a lumberyard rather than a home improvement store and have their own internal quality control to further select the panels that meet their standards. Anyway, you probably read more than you want about fences by now. The short answer is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

And I really do mean "Woohoo! As good as it gets!"!! Jaime is not only the best fence contractor I've worked with, but one of the best contractors ever! I made an appointment with him by phone, based on his 5-star Yelp rating and number of reviews and had to wait several weeks just to get the estimate, but it was well worth the wait. No wonder he is booked solid! I approved his bid same day as I received it, and we scheduled the work for about a month out. He just completed the 2-day job today. Jaime and Salvador repaired a 10-year accumulation of problems with our multiple fences, gates and decks with impressive expertise. Jaime explained everything he was doing in advance, and went around with me to verify at the end of each day. He did everything we'd agreed, and added so much extra value in the process. In repairing some termite damage to the balcony deck, he found it was more extensive than was visible, so he showed me what he uncovered and just charged me the additional time and materials at a very reasonable rate to restore the deck. Unfortunately he also found some live termite larvae, so he treated all the new wood he installed to prevent more infestation. I've now scheduled a termite expert to follow up, and though obviously not happy to find this, I'm glad to take care of it before more damage is done. Besides this big save, he and Salvador: * fixed everything that was crooked * replaced inferior wood with pressure-treated redwood * replaced flimsy latches with heavy-duty attractive, spring-closing post-mount latches * reinforced wobbly posts to make them very firm and sturdy * reinforced our front gate so the repairs he did would last * poured extra concrete where needed to secure both new and old posts * completely replaced a funky old built-in deck bench with a gorgeous brand new one * hauled away some old lumber that had been lying in the side yard, left by another contractor from 2 years ago * replaced nails with screws on the balcony deck so it would stay secure * even fixed an interior door that wasn't plumb Plus he is a super nice, interesting, smart and generous guy! We're so happy with Jaime's work that our neighbor is using Jaime to overhaul our shared fence, on 2 sides, and going in with yet another neighbor on the 3rd side! During one of the first winter storms in December, a large part of our fence in the yard fell and got completely destroyed. Unfortunately, it happened just a few days before we left on vacations. I contacted Fence Master based on the good reviews and left a message. Jaime called me back and said, he would be able to give us an estimate for the repair even so we were out of town. So I received his quote quickly after his visit when we were already in Europe. The quote was reasonable and Jaime told us he could do the repair in the following two days, even so we were not at home and wouldn't be able to pay right away the day the finished. Jaime was very accommodating about that. The crew installed the new fence and Jaime sent pictures after it was done. It looks really nice ! When we came home from our vacation I completely expected some damage in the flowerbed where the new fence was build. That would be completely normal given the scope of the project. But to my surprise, I didn't see a single flower that was damaged at all. It looked like they slowly lowered the whole fence into place from a helicopter ! 'really impressive work !!!
