Our fence is over 10 years old and was starting to lean and pull apart. We reached out for a quote and Franko gave us a call. The quote was fair and we accepted. Their team called a few days later to say they could start tomorrow. We agree and they were on time and efficient. They expected to take a day and a half but finished the first day. Without asking, Franko sent a revised quote (1/3 less), which we appreciated. The fence looks great and we look forward to many more years with it. read more

Fence Factory has done good work for us in the past, but their quote this time was much higher than any other quote that I got, and I ended up going with Mid State Fence, which did outstanding work for less than half the price. read more

I have used Fence Factory on several occasions and have been happy with the service and results. When I first moved into our property in 2021, I needed approximately 100 LF of black chain link fencing and a gate installed. Fence Factory came out and did the work per our agreed schedule - and also touched up paint on the tops of older metal posts (without asking and without adding any cost) to improve the overall visual aspect of the entire fencing around the property. This year, 2024, I had to get Fence Factory back to repair six areas where a black bear has been coming over the fencing and "smashing" some of it in half during the process. The initial estimate for the work was higher than I thought it should be - but after a little negotiation, the hours and overall cost were reduced and I signed the contract. When the work was actually completed, the time was less than our signed contract and Fence Factory adjusted the overall price downwards to suit their actual costs, overhead and profit. I really appreciate them being honest in their work and billing and will definitely use them again - let's hope the bear(s) take some time off! read more

I reached out to the sales person to discuss and he's never called me back. Took several calls to get someone to ever come out -customer service is very lacking read more

Fence Factory recently completed 2 separate fence projects on our property. We are very pleased with both. They completed the first portion in a quick and efficient timeframe, 91 feet of 6foot high butted board redwood. Old fence was taken down and removed in both jobs. The second portion was more complex; we had an existing fence, trash gate, and door replaced. We went with boards being horizontal rather than vertical is some areas and they needed to build a new door with added security code lock. We are beyond pleased with the results workmanship and highly recommend. read more

I put a lot of weight on how (and if!) a company stands behind its product or service. 2-1/2 years ago Fence Factory installed a gate between my garage and my neighbor's fence. It looked great and worked great but recently the gate became difficult to close due to normal sagging and the built-in adjustment mechanism could not fix the problem. Fence Factory came out quickly to do an assessment, accepted responsibility for an issue with the installation and corrected it. This was 2-1/2 years after installation and required about a half-day effort to move the post that supported the hinge portion of the gate. They stood by their product and did a beautiful job at no charge. read more

Don't think they are the only ones in town that can build a fence after struggling to get a job date ( which coorisponded with me being there) and trying to revise a bid from 61/2 foot to a 6 foot fence without success i was able to find a different crew who were happy to help started work on a date I chose a created a solid, beautiful fence for 2/3 the price!!! saved 3 k! think these guys may just be " too busy" they did build a nice fence for me in the past cheating the fence line towards my property tho! ... probably by 4 to 6 inches as i cleared and leveled the ground on my side of the old fence nicely rather than follow the old fence( property) line they just took the cleared, easier path guess that was my fault for prepping my side as well as I did id make sure to BE there when they plant poles i don't think prop lines are their priority the fence itself turned out nice however read more

Called for an estimate. The estimator came out and saw what we needed. He said he would have an estimate in about a week. That week passed without any email. I called several times and finally got hold of him. He said he would get it right out. NEVER got a email or estimate from him. Poor customer service. read more

Fence Factory was contracted to replace our badly-rotted back fencing and install a wide gate for our side yard, and I feel they did a great job. We made the mistake of waiting to replace a 60' portion of our fence until it literally fell over. Total eyesore, bad idea, would not recommend. We'd initially considered hiring an unlicensed crew to rebuild the section. While that wouldn't have been an issue, we wanted to ensure that it was built to last. I feel that the Fence Factory crew really worked wonders. Not only did the fence need replacing, but we needed a wider side yard gate to accommodate our large travel trailer. I feel that Fence Factory did a good overall job with the execution of this. Two years later, and it still looks and operates beautifully. Spend a little extra and have the job done right by this company! read more

Fence Factory did a great job for us! Justin was very professional in handling the quote and flexible in making requested changes. They had the best price, worked with our schedule and sent two excellent and very personable workers. These guys showed up on time and worked diligently for two days to complete the job. It wasn't easy as our land is full of underground rocks and we needed three gates of different sizes on uneven terrain. No problem and a perfect finished job! This was a smooth transaction with a very professional company that we will use again. read more

First time using them went smooth and easy. Second time has been a nightmare with a lot of promises made and not kept. What should have been a 2-3 day job turned into about 2 months. Grant is just a 'salesman' that tells you what you want to hear. Hopefully, we can find a better company for the rest of the jobs we need on our property. Hate looking out of town, but it will probably come to that. read more

Fence Factory replaced two gates and over 30 feet of redwood fencing. They do quality work and make sure that we are satisfied. In addition they clean up everything and haul all of the old wood away, read more

All my fence projects are built using Fence Factory materials and services. Fence Factory is proud of their reputation as the best in the business and it is reflected in their customer service and helpful advice to customers like myself. I don't look for the lowest prices when I want quality work. I look for the reputation and professional staff that makes any project a lasting success. They also have the most complete stock of wood and fencing materials in the area. read more

Good experience! I placed a custom order for a dog run. It was delivered and I was able to set it up in two hours with no help. There was some confusion during the process - people unexpectedly absent, imperfect communication, etc. But they scrambled to make things right. read more

They extended an existing fence for us. The seams were sloppy, the edges overhanging...the project manager, in an email, agreed it was unacceptable quality and assured us they would fix it. After two weeks of phone tag, standing us up on an arranged meeting to discuss it. They refused to fix it or discuss it further. We had to hire someone else to fix it. If you like poor workmanship, high prices and lousy customer service this is the place for you. read more

Updated to reflect more information: Good end product, difficult to work with. Didn't like their customer service in general...until I posted reviews, and then every effort was made to make things right. While I appreciate them reaching out, in my opinion it was a done deal at that point, and doesn't change my overall feeling about Fence Factory or my experience with them. I didn't like their communication (or lack thereof) throughout the project, and I didn't like their method of communication when I was having concerns about my invoices/account. read more

Stopped by their place of business in Goleta and requested a quote.Went over detailsout with their sales rep.He informed me that he would pass information on to his coworker and they would get back to me with a quote. I received a quote a timely manner and when I showed up to pick up the material on the half expected was there. He never followed up with the estimate in an email for review. After submitting my estimate to the owners and getting approval I ended up having to pay $800 out-of-pocket to get the appropriate materials. I was not offered a discount and obviously have no recourse. I will never purchase from them again. Do yourself a favor and shop your fencing somewhere else. read more

Second time around with Fence Factory. Frank provided a quick and affordable estimate. Quick installation (for privacy) of good quality. Didn't even know the crew had been here until I looked out the window. Just discovered an unrelated sagging piece - ultimate compliment; FF will repair. read more

Avoid like the plague. Gave us a quote after seeing the fence we needed removed and replaced. We agreed. Installation day (after rescheduling twice on their end) they refused to do the removal. We removed the fence, and what they installed was not what they showed us in pictures we were buying. No top bar, just cheap tension wire. We feel totally deceived and cheated. read more

They have a new girl working at the Front Counter for the past year that is completely unknowledgeable. She couldn't find simply things inside and has very little people skills, not professional at all. Dresses gangster with her pants sagging off. Shocking that someone like this would be working for them. She knows nothing still, after calling this morning. read more

Quick & efficient with quality results. Friends and neighbors are all impressed when I show them the new fence. Workers were careful with delicate items I showed them around the fence. I also requested a special cut-out around a tree and they actually handled it better than I expected. Also, nice clean-up when they left. This is the second time I've used Fence Factory (for two different fences) and I have been happy both times. read more

Having a new fence installed is both a blessing and curse. It often triggers very emotional responses from people that share property lines. Our own fence installations have been very challenging, both emotionally and technically. Often times a fence company is caught in difficult situations. We have had four sections of fence replaced with Fence Factory. My experience is that Fence Factory has provided a good quality and good product. This is particularly true given the value of the fence relative to cost. We are pleased. But more importantly than the product for us has been the level of support the personnel from Fence Factory have provided in a challenging environment. They met with our neighbors and helped make them happy where it was allowed. When emotions were such that collaboration was not available they worked in a way that did not promote any further animosity. I am happy and relieved to have had Fence Factory as our company and would do it again read more

Great experience. I checked all around town and finally bought my lumber from the fence factory for my 264 foot fence. They were not only the best price, but delivered and their product was visibly better than the product I had to buy from the local competition (a few extra pieces) to finish the job. Each person I spoke with each time I called was upbeat and helpful. Thanks Fence Factory Team! read more

When the Fence Factory came to see the job and provide a bid we were assured an established vine could be peeled back and saved and that plants along the old fence would be worked around. Well, the vine and plants were totally trampled and must be removed. There is some sway to the fence which will be a problem when the wind blows. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for your new fence. read more

Had them replace two wooden fence gates. The wood they used is incredibly flimsy and is already splintering a few months later. The workmen made a mess when they installed the gates, and left chunks of concrete all over the place. Not the slightest effort to clean up after themselves. I'll never use them again. read more

Great resource for hard to find metal pole fittings and all the supplies for the DIY fence builder. I just rebuilt my mom's fence in Goleta, and HD did not have the metal pole hardware, this place had it all. The dog eared cedar pickets from here are better wood (straighter for sure) than from HD, and only 10% more. And they're a real community business. They didn't have 8' 2x6 PT, so they cut 16' in 2 for no extra charge or hassle. I'll be back if I have to build another fence read more

The fence was built in a timely manner, the workmen were pleasant and we're pleased with the results.

The Fence Factory management and workers exceeded my expectations. The work was done on site by friendly and careful workers. They all worked hard to please me and my various requests. The didn't rush but came every day until the work was finished. They were creative in their approach to the work. The fence is very sturdy and I'm very pleased with the results. Many thanks for Grant, Guillermo and Rafael for a pleasant experience. read more

We had our fence and garden door redone recently by fence factory in goleta. They were great. The fence is very sturdy and nice. No plants were damaged and we have a lot of plants where they were working. Installers were very professional and worked well and were nice. I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

I usually don't give much credence to bad reviews on here; especially when they are so few in number. In this case, I'm going to add to the collection of bad reviews here and hope that they accumulate until this place changes the way they treat customers. I took off work to meet Grant (who was supposed to give me a quote). He was a no-show and when I called the first time I was told "tough luck" by a woman who works there who didn't seem very concerned about my work schedule and the complete waste of my time. I next spoke with Gary, who was a nice guy and assured me that he would get the guy to come back out to get me the quote. Despite his kind demeanor, he never called me back. I called again later in the day (around 3:30) and was told that everyone had gone home for the day, there was nothing they could do, and that Grant did come to the house. This is not true. I would know, because I took work off and waited 45 minutes for someone who never showed up. TL;DR: If you can't trust someone to give you a quote, you can't trust them to build your fence. read more

If you think a fence builder is worth more than a licensed journeyman electrician, carpenter or plumber, then go with these guys. I needed 6 lin ft of 6' tall chain link fence with a 3' gate to fill a missing portion of fencing. This cost a whopping $1210.00. That works out to more than $200.00/lin ft. The hourly rate for these guys is $88.00/hour, more than an elecrician, contractor or plumber in the same area. I was in the building business for many years and it took me at least 3 years full time to be what I would call a journeyman. I figure it would take a reasonably smart person somewhere around 6 months to become competent enough to run fencing. I'm pretty confident they are not paying their crew more than $30.00/hour so even after taxes and payroll, whoever is in charge is making a killing on the crew and guess who's paying for it. The product is fine, but it did take 2 guys 5 hours to dig 3 holes, set some poles in concrete and then set up the fence. Not what I would call "getting after it". The gate was already assembled in the shop. They claimed a nice price bump because of a pole needing to be bent to get around some existing concrete, but they have pipe benders in the shop and I can't imagine that it took more than a couple minutes. If you have any decent handyman skills, you'll be much better of doing the work youself. I don't know how the average person can afford to have fencing installed by these guys. read more
