I had three crises converge and found myself seeking emergency assistance at OVB. Having no…read moreexperience with mental health facilities, I had no idea what to expect. I am gratefully surprised at the level of care I received and recommend this facility to anyone needing emotional support. I checked myself in with nothing but defeated desperation and the clothes I was wearing. I was met with love and provided all necessities for my five days of inpatient care. During my inpatient stay, there was a lot of needed introspective down time. We had group therapy each afternoon and generous servings of three nutritious meals with snacks and drinks available anytime. Puzzles, cards, lots of coloring and movie time allowed space for connecting with each other or simply ourselves. The attending psychiatrist was great in providing helpful and necessary medication and the employees in the unit met me with compassion at each encounter. After inpatient discharge, I moved on to the outpatient program where I attended group therapy M-F from 9:30-3ish for three weeks. I am deeply enriched from my time in outpatient care and will carry these learned coping skills with me for a lifetime. Ms. Shenae and Ms. Pam are a Godsend. They are gifted in connection and illustration of crucial skills in relation to each of our unique needs. We practiced mindfulness and meditation in a way that everyone can learn and eventually master in their own unique way. My toolbox of coping skills is locked, loaded, and prepared for all of life's ups, downs, twists and turns. I am a better person because of my time at Old Vineyard and deeply thank my doctors, therapists and peers for this experience.

I was staying in my friend's house all the time and when I went home that day, I saw my parents crying and begging me to stop. It was the same day that I got the courage to be treated. I am tired of everything. I knew it was a long process of treatment and I knew it wouldn't be easy. I welcomed the people who wanted to help me and they brought me into this recovery center. I experienced awesome programs and services, I met new people who share the same experiences with me and I receive treatment from professional doctors there. I was able to recuperate. I am so thankful.

I'm not sure what to say about Galax. My sister was here... Twice. Two 30 day rehab sessions within…read more4 months. The first one did absolutely nothing for her. And she chose to return to drinking when she got out. The second one, at least they helped her get to a long-term treatment facility up in Michigan. That facility was great and seem to be helping her a lot. However... The truth of addiction treatment is this... If you don't have private insurance that will cover treatment, you will only find help in places that are not really equipped to help you. While she was in long term treatment in Michigan, her insurance stopped. A family member cancelled it. She was forced to leave. Without insurance, she passed from place to place, never got any real help, and passed away within 4 months. Her heart stopped. It's sad that we don't offer real, serious, quality addiction treatment regardless of ability to pay.

I wish they was a way for someone to look into that place. It's the definition of insurance fraud…read more Patients have little to no structure and medical department is horrible. They refuse to test for COVID and will not offer any antibiotics even seeing someone is sick. The classes are a hour and a half each but only get a good 20 minutes of learning. The rest the time is commotion and chaos. This is not a good place and I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to come for help because you'll end up worse off then when you came. If you go to counselors about an issue you have, they tell you "it's part of treatment" or pick and choose what they willing to help with. Don't get me wrong, it's some good people here also but overall this place is a sh**show!! And btw, they bribe patients to leave them a good review by letting them use their cellphones. Ridiculous and actually sad. People are dying everyday over drugs and the "Life Center" capitalizes off of the Medicaid that those people have to turn a profit. Please don't come here if you really want to get clean and save your life. This isn't the place to do it.
