The phenomenon of Irish-themed pubs has even reached Vilanova i la Geltrú. This large venue,…read morelocated in an attractive small square in the old town of La Geltrú, is popular late on (after 23h) with a young crowd (mostly teenagers and 20-somethings), but OK for a quiet drink earlier on. The exterior looks like a traditional Spanish house, and conceals an expansive interior with a long counter, a wooden floor, panelled walls, pictures and mirrors with a Guinness/Murphy's/Irish theme, and a large TV screen showing videos. There's an upstairs bar which they open during festivals when they're busy. The beers, as you might expect, include Guinness and Murphy's, alongside Heineken and a range of interesting international bottled beers, with Yuste beer from Andalucía the only (but worthy) Spanish representative. Prices (at EUR3.50 per bottle) are higher than average, but service is friendly and efficient.

I suggest eating a whole real meal at a diff restaurant but coming out here for snacks and drinks so you can just sit, relax, and enjoy life. i've never felt happier than chilling here. you'll love it. food is also great btw, it's not just vibes . got salmon bagel and they don't skimp on the avocado or anything. the tomato bread is also large and so delicious.

Now you'd think with a name like Runway, I could expect at least a passing reference to "The Devil…read moreWears Prada" or maybe a runway where customers have room to pose and vogue. Then it dawned on me from the wings in their logo that they were actually referring to an airport runway, not a fashion show. Gee, I guess I went too gay in my assumption and made an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'. Jamie W and I finally tried this bar after sitting next door at Parrots several times (review: https://yelp.to/SCMxKXqy59). Parrots is such a tourist magnet it attracts a cross-section of customers not exclusively gay. That's not the case with the hot pink Runway as it was all male on the terrace and the view was, let's face it, the meat parade on Carrer de Joan Tarrida, otherwise known as the Street of Sin. We had quite the manview as we were served by the friendly Neil supposedly dressed as a flight attendant but looking more like a baggage handler. After all, you can carry the metaphor so far. Since we were in a tropical mood, Jamie had the 9€ Mai Tai, while I went for the 9€ Malibu Bay Breeze, a mix of coconut rum and pineapple & cranberry juices (Photo 9). Let's say we flew the friendly skies. Outside, the aptly named Runway Terrace has several rows of cocktail tables and seats facing the "runway" which is Carrer de Joan Tarrida, the infamously narrow alley with at least 6 gay bars. At night, men packed to overflowing in front of the bars. You are basically walking the catwalk or runway to get there. It's fun to wade through but watch for pickpockets. This became our favorite bar each night where we could observe the passing parade, plus watch which guys are contemplating and then entering Bukkake "Bar" across the way (IYKYK). The servers and bartenders are super friendly. One waiter remembers and treats us as old regulars, and our bar tab was paid up nightly when leaving. Sangrias are good. G&T are popular and gin comes in a huge goblet with separate cans of tonic water. Runway Terrace had an unexpectedly fun and relaxing vibe, but steps away from the action!

El Piano de Sitges is outside the center of Sitges gayborhood and on a quiet side street. The bar…read morefront is really just a door with a poster. Walking through the second door reveals a small bar with 2 bartenders, and a little stage with el piano. What sets this gay bar apart from the others are the live singers and performers that grace the stage mostly in summer. West End & Broadway singers, cabaret singers, et al. A few were so good over the years that I bought their CD. Other evenings have pianists entertaining the crowd. In the summer one bartender does double duty as video DJ and keeps the music hopping with old campy music videos (think oldies like 70-80-90s Europop) plus same era divas like Madonna. I definitely used Shazam to ID a number of songs outside my repertoire such as: The Communards "Don't Leave Me This Way, with Sarah Jane Morris"?! We always manage to have a good time here. We especially look forward to Summer Showtune Sundays which becomes a fantastic singalong. The bartenders are super friendly. The crowd is drunk, fun and many times dancing and singing along. El Piano usually temporarily closes in the fall and returns as the Sitges season restarts. Check their Facebook page to be sure it's open. Also check out the Playbills above the urinals. So unique you keep your eyes looking up instead of down.

It's a bit hidden away on another alley, and the elegant door made us think we were entering a private nightclub. Unfortunately Jamie W. and I came here when they weren't featuring live entertainment. That was a month away according to the friendly, trivia-saturated bartender. Instead he ran an endlessly enthralling video reel of classic and kitschy movie musical numbers on Showtune Sunday. Of course that meant watching Judy sing "The Trolley Song" in "Meet Me in St. Louis" followed by Liza performing "Money, Money" with Joel Grey in "Cabaret". They had a clip of Dame Judi Dench in a dirndl singing "16 (Going on 17)" from "The Sound of Music". Oh, and of course, they showed Barbra on the tugboat with her wilted yellow flowers belting "Don't Rain on My Parade" from "Funny Girl". Yes, I know the clip is 56 years old, but I can still stand, can't I? Meanwhile, the three gay couples in the bar were sitting quietly enraptured by the video and their Chardonnay. The private party took over the entire outside patio. Servers including the owner were awesome! What seemed like a parade of non-stop tapas were delicious! Olives were so good the servers had to keep refilling our table bowls. Our favorite tapas were the Patatas Bravas (fried potatoes with the spicy hot mayo type sauce), and the grilled bread with lots of spices and toppings (I have no idea what it was called). Friends enjoyed their Beef Stroganoff entree. I and everyone else raved about the Bacallao (cod) entree which was moist and tasty! The Mediterranean food was on point. Good bottles of red and white Spanish wines were emptied. Our table's favorite of 8 probably finished 8 bottles LOL. During regular seating, Incognito has both indoor and outdoor tables. They usually temporarily close during the offseason and re-open when the tourists return.
