I think this is an OK park with some fun to be had, but the $5 to park (no longer $3) is a huge turnoff and I don't see the $5 being put into the park more than other free public parks I've been too. Definitely a fun place to go to once in a while and especially fun for birthday, but due to the fee, I don't come frequently. read more

Cute park! My friend had a birthday party here for her daughter & my toddler son had an absolute blast. The park is incredibly clean, tucked away, & the ranger at the front was very friendly. We were only in a small part of the park, so it'll be interesting to explore the rest of it at some point when I am in the area. TONS of available parking. Playgrounds are great sizes as well. There were a lot of picnics tables, green grass, & soft dirt all around. Such a cute park, we will absolutely be back! $3 parking fee for the day, not sure if this is waived if you live in the area or are a resident of Escondido. read more

I came here solely for the playground, so that's all I can report on. First, the $3 entrance fee can be paid by card or cash. It's no longer just cash. We went to the main playground. It's a great playground for all ages. There is a play area for younger kids, a play area for older kids, and swings. The restrooms are right nearby, but we didn't use them. There is a TON of picnic table seating. However, most of it is not under any cover. The playground itself is completely clean with no trash or vandalism, which was great. My two and four year olds had a blast here. read more

The best park by far, I wasn't even aware of this location or its existence. Hidden away from the other side of freeway 15, I must have turned right so many times that I forgot what was on the left side. Then I found it, the gate was clear, you have to drive thru a post that obviously you need to pay $5 per car. I never heard of a public park where they charge you money for your car, to hike or have a picnic. And I realize it had more stuffs to offer, a scout camping ground, a beautiful creek, a pickle ball field and a wedding area, everything here was cleaned, no trashes or animal feces, a lot of big trees and shades, clean restrooms as well. Definitely a place to walk and get some fresh air. read more

I'm always looking for new places to walk and hike and I saw this park on hidden San Diego. I grew up in Northern California where there are lots of oak tress. Now living in San Diego I miss trees, especially oaks & redwoods. This park is filled with beautiful old oaks and a year round stream running through it. There is a $3 parking fee but I don't mind that. Especially since the park is so beautiful and maintained. They have quite a few areas you can reserve for parties with picnic tables, playgrounds and bbqs. It looks like a great place for a gathering and they even have a spot for weddings. The trail running the perimeter is not long and not too challenging which is perfect. The oaks provide shade in the heat. This will now be on regular rotation for my walk/hikes read more

I've driven by this park a number of times coming home from Escondido and decided to check it out. What I found is another beautiful San Diego County park with a gentle creek running through it, walking trails, picnic tables, playgrounds, and restrooms. There's a $3 parking fee. read more

Great county park! I love taking my kids there during the week to play for a bite. I love the rubber flooring in the play area (better than mulch). So many areas for parties and great for photo sessions. I did my maternity photos there last November (amazing fall lighting) and recently took out family photos there. Restrooms are clean, trash cans are empty. Can't forget the renaissance faire, such a fun experience. read more

Great shady place to take a small hike. Unfortunately there are no trail maps or signage, so we kind of wandered. However we saw plenty of wildlife and there were very clean bathrooms amd plenty of parking. Great for kids with the playground, and lots of open areas for kicking a ball or playing catch. Several of the trails we went on were bordered by private residence, so be kind and courteous. read more

Really nice park with something for everyone. Lots of tables and designated areas for larger birthday parties, playground structures for kids to play, a lot of open areas for smaller gatherings or a private hangout, and peaceful shaded walking trails throughout surrounded by beautiful nature and local history. I came here with my dog and we had a nice walk exploring the trails and he enjoyed all the sights and smells! Even though it was hot, the trees and nature provided a lot of shade. There's also a creek that runs through the park. Even though I was there on a Sunday afternoon and there were numerous events and parties going on, the park is big enough where you can go on a trail and feel like you're the only one there. I also saw a few photoshoots taking place. $3 to enter and parking was super easy in the many available spots. I live in RB and definitely plan to come here more often! read more

The good stuff: This park is lovely with beautiful trails and a nice playground. The Escondido Renaissance Faire and other fantastic events are held here. Most of the park rangers are kind and helpful. The bad stuff: There are some serious accessibility and safety issues. The bathrooms have an accessible stall, but there is no safe way for a wheelchair to actually get to the restrooms. There is a steep grassy hill in the front of the restrooms and an area filled with roots and gopher holes behind the restrooms. There should be a safe, paved ramp leading to the restrooms that connects to a sidewalk leading to the parking lot and the playground. The extremely large chunks of loose mulch everywhere is another big safety issue. Even wheelchairs and scooters intended for outdoor use get stuck in the stuff. I have seen ambulatory people slip in this mulch, too. The compacted hard dirt in other areas of the park is safer. The mulch also disguises the gopher holes. Earlier this year, my wheelchair got caught in a hidden gopher hole here, and I got flung out of my chair and fractured a rib. Yes, many areas of the park will never be accessible to all, but please at least make sure that there is a safe route to the restrooms. read more

I LOVE this park. This is my favorite park in all of Escondido. It is a smaller, gated park where you have to pay three dollars to enter, but it is a hidden gem. There are two playgrounds and short walking trails that go under trees (on dirt, not wheelchair accessible), next to a creek. You might see squirrels and birds, butterflies and lizards. This is such a beautiful place and very well kept by the park rangers. Less wheelchair accessible than some other parks in Escondido though, sadly. read more

This park is local to us and we have been here twice this week. It's a daily charge of $3 but work it. There are playgrounds for littles and bigger kids so fun for all. Bathrooms are cleans and playgrounds are in the shade Which is very nice. read more

For a mere three dollars you can gain day access to Escondido's premier picnic and playground park.. We came during school graduation day so the park was pretty packed with large groups of families. There was still plenty of room to walk round and find a free table for lunch. Probably the best thing about the Felicita park is the 1.4 mile "Track Trail" that takes you through the entire park, mostly along the year-round stream. It's an all ages trail. The only negative was that the rangers had no personality. - Playgrounds have been upgraded with large sun sails for sunburn protection. Equipment was clean and well maintained - Park in general was well maintained - Bathrooms - Better than Live Oak Park park up in Fallbrook - This is where the annual Escondido Renaissance Faire is located read more

I have been in Rancho Bernardo in for almost 10 years, but never got a chance to visit this gem. It is so rare to find a such a dense green park in San Diego. This place is full of events all the time, almost every weekend. The recent one I attended is Ship in the woods. Its 50-acre oak grove of Felicita County Park in Escondido, situated in North County San Diego. Admission is $3 and plenty of parking and restrooms. Especially they are CLEAN bathrooms very well maintained. One other standout features is . there is an alcohol friendly area. Also, there is a huge gazebo with electrical plugs for fun. This place is very family and kids friendly. A SHIP IN THE WOODS its a inaugural music and art festival within the, merging world class talented artist with local San Diego artists. Also, there was bands playing very diverse groups including indie-rock, punk, rock, hip-hop and lot of experimental electronic music. This park has kids play area, which is not the best, but to have a swing in middle of nature is amazing. I will come here often now. read more

I took my pup here for the first time today and I really loved it. I love a spot that I can take him for a nice walk with lots of things for him to smell. Felecita Park doesn't disappoint....lots of trails and vegetation to look at...nice creek and a couple of small waterfalls. Cool place to take pictures.....there was a party in the open park areas and the parking lot is large with tons of parking. I went on a Sunday and had no issues at all with parking or too many people. It's overcast and very comfortable but I'll bet when it's hot that the amount of shade here....it is likely comfortable then too. I highly recommend this place and especially if you just feel like a cool walk. Dogs must wear a leash (still a cool spot)....glad I finally checked it out. It did cost $3 to get in but it's worth it! The entry pass is good till 8pm so you could actually leave and come back without being charged again. Great place for kids to explore as well. read more

Great park to enjoy the afternoon with your littles. Awesome playground except I wish there were more equipment on the smaller kids side. A lot of the older kids push past my 2 year old but she prefers the older kids side because it has a much bigger jungle gym and things to play on. My daughter and niece love the trails and creek. There's lots of space and plenty to do. I also did some amazing maternity photos here and they turned out wonderfully! read more

I'd always heard of this park but had no reason to venture out there since I'm surrounded by so many parks in San Marcos....until an outdoor movie night was planned by the County of San Diego. Well, who am I to say no?! The park charges $3.00 for parking until 8pm when the park closes, but not on movie nights. I can only comment on the area where the movie was set it. It's by the theater and it's the best setup for all the outdoor movies I've ever been to. For starters, there re tons of picnic tables by the theater. You can have your entire family here for thanksgiving and still have tables leftover! Secondly, there are two parks close by for ages 2-5 and then 5-12...and plenty of swings. Score! Lastly, the bathrooms are right near the stage....and easy to find in the dark. I spoke to three park rangers during my time here and they were all nice and informative. Now, movie night. It's sponsored by the County of San Diego. All family friendly- either G or PG rating. Bring snacks, chairs, pillows, blankets...and then settle in under the beautiful night sky. They had Steel City Pops on site and...yum! Gourmet popsicles! Don't miss their blood orange popsicle. Delicious! Fun night! I'll be back! read more

I avoided exploring this area mainly because I'm cheap and didn't want to spend $3 for parking. This park is very beautiful. It's not really a park to get a good hike in. It's a very short walk to explore the trails. I do love the small dams in the creek and the tiny waterfall. There is some history to admire in Felicita park which I do love. I think it's better to come here for picnics and it's a safe place to go to a playground with kids. read more

Most excellent of old escondido parks. Its large, its maintained, it has a hiking trail and several playgrounds. And wait for it folks, large CLEAN bathrooms. I always feel safe here. This is a place that I remember taking several field trips to as a child. They even have an outdoor stage for plays and productions. They do charge 3 dollar entrance fee on busy days but, its worth it. I promise. For parties and get together's this is a alcohol friendly area but it has no drunks hanging out. Went here today because the church I belong to planned a Choir Day (and I'm in the choir)... Ok- I'm not being totally honest. A friend called me at home and said my Uncle Fred made his awesome Clam Chowder* (and I sure as heck wasn't going to pass that up). ----------------------------- The park is off the 15 fwy/Felicita Rd. exit going west. There's a $3 entrance fee- it is SO worth it, because this is a REALLY nice park- I haven't seen anything like it...(well, except for this cool park in TJ) and I've been to quite a few parks in San Diego. The area that was reserved had a large barbeque pit, outdoor stage (w/electric outlets), an abundance of picnic tables, a nice playground and a volleyball court. There were also some cool looking trails, but I didn't get a chance to check them out since I didn't stay very long. And there were 2 restroom buildings closeby- didn't check them out, unfortunately. ------------------------------ * I missed out on the Clam Chowder- it and Uncle Fred were gone when I got there :( read more

I'm going to let my fellow Yelpers in on a little secret... I attend Renaissance Faires with some friends of mine (and we dress up for them). Felicita Park hosts one of them twice a year. However, my most recent visit here was not for a Ren Faire, but for a friend's daughter's birthday party. It was the first time I got to see the park when it's not set up and in its regular condition. I was pleased to see how nice the place looks - and I liked walking the trails where the creek is. (Although, I think I *may* have walked in on a couple engaging in "en flagrante delicto"...) Anyways, don't let the $3 entrance fee scare you off, though you need cash - there's no card swiper on the machine. Give Felicita Park a chance when you're in Escondido sometime! read more

If you know me than you know that I'm all about the outdoors. Its nice to have this park so close to home. Walking the dog is really nice here. There is numerous picnic areas where you can have gatherings and get togethers. If you plan on having a really large one tho it is recommended that you pay the reservation fee. You have to if your party exceeds a number of people. Therr is some places, like the gazebo area, where there is electricity inputs that you can use when you pay the reservation. Very nice trails. They arent much but really nice to have in the city. There is a creek that runs through it but please dont go inside unless you want to risk growing another toe or limb. Bathrooms are very well kept and so are the play grounds. Entrance per vehicle is about 3 dollars so have cash ready. read more

Such a nice and clean park. My daughter and nInhad so much fun here. There is so much shade and we love all the little rivers.

This is a really nice park!!!! I could spend all day here ton of shade and grass. It's clean and there aren't any homeless people, so I never had to question our safety. FYI there is a parking fee of $3 a day, which I didn't know about when I got there but it was worth the visit. read more
