I don't know about you but if I am going to devour so many calories I expect to taste more than just cream which has not much taste to it anyway. Unfortunately I couldn't taste much difference between the chocolate cream cake (right), the toffee cream cake (middle) and my blueberry cream cake (left). The pies ( blueberry, chocolate) were good though ;)

Whether you decided to sit inside for the classic teashop atmosphere complete with chandliers or outside for that more Parisienne cafe experience you would be hard pushed to be disappointed. Added charm comes in the form of a pianist tinkling away on the baby grand from 14:30 onwards during the weekends All cakes are baked on site in the large kitchen behind the counter. So you know it's not some defrosted offering provided by a larger manufacturer somewhere in cakeland! On our last visit we had Classic Cheesecake, Plum Pudding Cake and Blueberry Meringue Cake. I washed mine down with a Bella Lula Citronade with Mint and it was very citrusy and minty indeed just as the name suggests! I am a real sucker for Meringue and although I loved mine I have to say out of the three the Plum Pudding Cake was the best... if one had to choose of course! There is always a large selection of cakes to choose from and I am sure they are equally delicious ;) I would have to sacrifice my waistline to submit or more comprehensive report!

Passing by, you're greeted by a line of locals waiting to order fresh bread and pastries and the scent of sugar and yeast fills the street. The staff were able to communicate efficiently with me as an English speaker, and were kind as they packed my large order while giving recommendations to fit my preferences. I ordered a cherry donut, a classic eclair, cream bun, quiche with ham, and a chocolate rum ball all for a mere nine euros. As you can tell, I had a major sweet tooth, but they had a phenomenal selection of savory options such as croissants, dinner rolls, brioche, baguettes and loaves packed onto the shelves. Each of my treats were extraordinarily delicious! The fluffy donut and tart, homemade jam were surreal...the chocolate ball was creamy and milk chocolatey followed by a warm, rum aftertaste and I enjoyed the bite of the chocolate sprinkles! The highlight for me was certainly the large cream bun! Sandwiches between two delicate pate choux "buns" was a mountain of fresh whipped cream that was soft and only slightly sweet. I am dreaming about it now! The bakery has a cozy dining area and a patio for you to enjoy your purchase. Cannot wait to come back here again. Please come support this place!
