Sadly my dog Daisy is now in Cornwall (no, she's not gone to "live on a farm, and no we can't visit", my mum moved down there) so I can't ask her for her informed opinion, though I'd assume she's probably say something along the lines of "woof". We always used to get her bags of Charcoal Bonio from here and the staff were always friendly. Of course you are allowed to bring your pooch into the main bit of the shop, where they can sniff and salivate to their hearts content. Out back is a small aquarium and a couple of hutches with rabbits and other small furry things that poo out pellets can be found. Prices are a little bit higher than the big supermarkets, but you get much better service and advice in Feed & Seed . And they won't let you bring your dog in to a Tesco.

We were sent to this veterinary practice by our own vets as this was a late afternoon emergency…read moresituation and were received by two considerate receptionists who had been prept by our vets. There was one vet on duty at this practice in Llantwit who examined our beautiful very ill Lurcher Bryn. Unfortunately our boy's symptoms needed further investigation and the vet immediately arranged for a colleague to receive us in the Cowbridge practice. These two vets went above and beyond a normal consultation and stayed well after the normal practice hours. They could so easily have advised us to take our dog to the emergency out of hours practice in Cardiff; but they didn't and persevered finding out a diagnosis. Finally after blood tests and examinations, an ultrasound scan revealed that Bryn had a tumour in his stomach, and that this mass was quite large. This news presented my husband and I with a painful decision, which resulted in us putting our beloved Bryn to sleep. All through this ordeal both vets worked relentlessly and compassionately to help us. We have always looked after rescue Greyhounds and Lurcher's and I would certainly recommend WEST FARM veterinary practice as one of the best practices I have ever encountered. I had the most upsetting experience when I took my cat to West Farm Veterinary Clinic. A bite…read morewound on the cat's back had previously been treated by this vet but had subsequently turned septic. The area was VERY tender and painful. The vet decided to shave the affected area despite my protestations - the result was a traumatised cat in great pain and a long, deep scratch on my hand. I asked the vet to administer a pain killer to my cat but he was afraid the cat might attack him - I assured him this would not happen - he reluctantly inserted a hypodermic needle into my beautiful cat and instantly let go of it so it was hanging from my cat's body - he eventually returned to the job in hand and injected the contents into my cat. I was so upset at this level of incompetence that I refused to pay the £30-odd bill which I am now being pursued for.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!…read more We returned from our holiday to find numerous animals that were sick and starving. This was caused by poor husbandry; one unfortunately had to be euthanized. Now racking up a huge vet's bill, let alone all the distress this has caused us. It is clear to us that the sitter had no or very little training. She did NOT follow the instructions we left for her regarding animal care; she didn't administer medications, check on our livestock etc.We found mouldy food lying around covered in maggots. She didn't even listen to what the vet told her! We also found property inside the house to be damaged; our range cooker was totally burnt out and a tap in our bathroom had been broken off. She also broke a pet carrier. We also found out that the sitter had allowed strangers into our home without contacting us. When we contacted Preseli animal care via e mail, we received a barrage of abuse as a response. Horrible customer service! Nasty people to deal with! We're very disappointed. We wish we had noticed that on their website they have posted all of their reviews themselves. They're all posted by one of the owners and they're all positive. A bit suspicious considering how awful an experience we had with them.
