They were both very happy to see us come back, of course, but seemed to be just fine. Both my dogs have spent much of their lives in daycare/boarding/dog parks/socialization of some type just to ensure they get their energy out. If you have a GSD- you know what I'm talking about! As I dropped off my two girls I took my senior (10 y.o.) in first and brought their food and supplies inside. She was taken immediately to the back while I got my younger girl (2 y.o. Puppy). The woman working the front desk comments on my younger dogs hyperactivity with a "I can tell this one will be difficult"- I remind her that she is a working breed puppy and is very excited to be somewhere new. It came across as rude to me, but I let it go. Online we booked the king deluxe suites stay for our girls. I read online they got a "minimum of 4 twenty minute stretch and potty breaks". If you want socialization for your dog you have to pay extra for that? My husband and I travel for work, and we have been all over the United States as a result. I have NEVER been to a pet facility that charges for socialization/play time, so we ordered some for each dog throughout their stay. You have no way of knowing if they got that play time. There is no live stream of the facility and I was never taken back to see where my girls were staying, another first. I also asked for photo updates or text updates of my girls while we were gone for 7 days/6 nights- I got one call and was told she would email photos of their Christmas party. I received an email but not picture was included. Additionally, their website mentions an "Eagle Caves Pet Resort Report Card" when I asked for the report card the front desk receptionist acted as though she had no clue as to what I was referring. When I showed her the website she said "Oh we've never done that". As far as pet care goes, this place does the job. Regarding customer service and professionalism, it could use some work. Attached you will find Greg's original response to my 4 star google review, then his updated response including name calling a former client. Things changed when they built a fancy new building of their own on the river, and now it seems to be mostly a monetary focus. My friend is furious that they "let her dog die" and I had my own bad experience when I brought my own dog in for evaluation on a suspected airway obstruction. Instead of looking at the airway obstruction, they ran over $400 in various blood tests-including pancreas for some damn reason! When it came time to address the airway obstruction, they said they don't have the specialized equipment- which is the whole reason I brought her in. We live in the Columbia River Gorge, and this is a semi-rural vet hospital, and they don't have the expensive equipment to diagnose a simple grass seed (which can be deadly). When I asked why they don't have the equipment I was told they just can't afford it, and nobody there is trained to operate it anyway. I told them I thought it would be a good idea to get this because grass seed problems are very very common around here. Apparently the nurse didn't like my audacity to suggest what I would like to see in a vet, and had the owner call me back and tell me off for 10 minutes, then tell me to come and pick up my sick dog - that they would not treat it. Wow. Just kicked a sick animal to the street. They were very careful to hold my pet back until I paid. Imagine, kicking someone out of your practice and expecting payment! But it showed me their priorities and that they do this OFTEN. I understand owners are upset when their pets become sick, and I wish they would also, and show a little compassion. Nope- out the door with you! Update: She was taken to another vet, who quickly noticed a swollen neck, so they put her under anesthesia and checked out her airways- what I wanted Columbia to do! They found no obstruction, but he as a type at inflammatory laryngitis cats get, and an experienced vet would know about. Treating with cortisol. I really feel like Columbia run all those vague tests to run up bills, and they started doing that when they moved into their new fancy building. It's so transparent. The young vets just starting out have no idea.

We hit the jackpot with Amanda, she was absolutely AMAZING! She listened to what we wanted and Bridget turned out beautifully, couldn't ask for a better experience. We also waited the whole time in the lobby, spoke with the friendly front desk, and saw happy dog after happy dog leave daycare with their owners. It is a safe, clean, friendly environment that anyone should feel comfort in knowing that their fur-baby will be well cared for.
