    Rev7 Moving

    Rev7 Moving

    (1 review)

I've used movers for a total of nine moves since 2006 and I can say - without a doubt - this was…read morethe most unprofessional group of movers I've ever encountered. I asked for a quote online and received a call that Rev7 would come to the house to assess. I mentioned I would be moving a lot of the boxes on my own. I have one bedroom, a refrigerator, w/d, living room furniture, and patio furniture. The man who came to my house stated they charged by the hour and provided me an estimate of over $1000 with 3 movers at 8 hours for a move of 11 miles. Keep in mind this is ONE THIRD of what I paid to move from Fort Worth to Lubbock. I went with them because honestly - no one else was calling me back with quotes for a move. The movers were supposed to arrive at 8:00 am, but didn't show until 8:15 am - remember, I'm paying by the hour. They arrived in a U-Haul and this was the first red flag - I've never used a moving company that didn't have their own trucks/transportation. Less than 30 minutes into the move, I noticed we'd "lost" one of the movers. Turns out he was taking a luxurious @#$%*$ in my bathroom for 10-15 minutes. I get it - when nature calls, you should answer. However, it is respectful if you're a stranger in someone's home to ASK to use the bathroom. Even my own family ASKS out of courtesy. Another mover was rather lackadaisical and wandered around watching videos on his phone unless he was specifically instructed to work on something. I heard him say something about how "this lady has that soft ****" in reference to my bedding (I think), which was rather creepy. One of the things that I felt slowed the move further was the fact that they wrapped a LOT of stuff in plastic. I've had movers do this with dressers and items with drawers so they don't move in transit. I've never had them wrap tables or the handles of my refrigerator that had been removed. Video Guy worked at unscrewing the base of my television for so long I finally told them to forget it, and I would move it. Everything was finally loaded into the U-Haul at 10:57 am to move to the other home - in my experience, with 3 movers and my household contents (especially since I'd moved a great deal of stuff myself and had broken down my king size bed), it should not have taken this long. Once at the new place, Video Guy gets out of the truck and says, "So - everything goes in the garage?" Ummm, no dude. Bedroom stuff goes in the bedroom, kitchen stuff in the..... I had post-its on the walls indicating where things should go, but they didn't pay much attention. My futon was placed backwards, facing a wall. When it was done and time for them to go, I was expecting to pay by card with a card reader or something. Instead, the "leader" told me to "sign or scribble or whatever" my name on three different screens of an old phone - there was no indication as to what I was signing. I asked him how much the move would be and it took him several minutes to give me an answer. He stated I'd get the bill in an email, which I did, though this was another red flag - what legitimate company doesn't use card readers or get payment upon services rendered?? When the email arrived, I replied by outlining all of my complaints. The owner apologized and discounted $113, but this move still ended up costing more than it was worth, especially in relation to the unprofessional staff and length of time of the move. In short, if you'd like a move done right - with professionals and courtesy - go with another business besides Rev7.

From the owner: It's time to pack up the boxes and load up the truck, but you don't have to do it alone.
