First off, this is legit Thai. The dishes are authentic and delicious. They have wonderful cocktails. They have lots of vegetarian options!!! We frequented this restaurant several time during our stay in Brasil. The food was always delicious, though the service would range from fabulous to nonexistent. A few times my veggie tom kha soup had to be sent back because it arrived with chicken in it. (And trust me, we ordered in Portuguese.) However, despite the occasional mistakes, and the occasional rude server, we still loved the restaurant. They have great lunch specials as well! A must try if you love Thai.

The experience was nice but nothing special. My husband and I decided to go back this weekend so I could determine if maybe it was just the chef that night that didn't deliver what was expected. Honestly the environment is so relaxing it's hard not to want to dine here. We tried to order the lamb curry and they "were out". We thought okay this is opportunity to order some completely different plates. We ordered the duck curry and efu noodles. The food arrived and the curry looked and smelled delicious, as soon as we took our first bite we both agreed it was lacking that tangy kick , it had the spice but nothing else, barely even any flavor. We were surprised because it smelled so good! We asked for lime and salt to add ourselves which made it much better. The noodles were so so and overall I was a disappointed and we probably won't be coming back but I will say the restaurant is beautiful, relaxing, and romantic and the staff is very warm and helpful. They just need to get a chef that contributes to the wonderful setup they have there.

If you're looking to skip the comida de rua though, I recommend heading to Tanka for their belly-filling buffet. To find the restaurant, look up, it's on the 2nd floor of what appears to be a hotel. There's a balcony where people may be eating, so that should give it away. While I'm not a buffet person, the spread here is pretty amazing and fresh. You can enjoy savory noodles, sushi, meat skewers, fried rice, desserts (hello, mochi and froyo). There's plenty to fill up on, especially if you have a hankering for carbohydrates.

It is located smack in the middle of Liberdade, right across Liberdade Square (Praça da Liberdade) and the Liberdade Metrô Station (Line 1-Blue). It is actually located on the second floor of a hotel, but out on the front of the building is a noticeable sign that explains the pricing of the buffet. It is an Asian buffet (a mix of Chinese, Korean and Japanese offerings), complete with a whole variety of textures and styles. There is even a section dedicated for fried/skewered foods and a noodle bar (udon/ramen) Along with the food, there is also a dessert bar which is included in the price. Another welcome feature of this place is that you can pay about R$8 (around US $2.55 in today's conversion rate) for unlimited drink refills (soft drinks and ice tea). Those of you that have been in Brasil know that drink refills are not the norm here, so it is a relief that you won't have to keep spending money on more drinks The place is pretty big: there is the main dining area, an outdoor patio and a separate indoor area for a more private setting. Even so, you can definitely expect a huge crowd at almost any hour which you might visit Most of us that have experience with Asian buffets in the States may have come across those that are dirty or something off. To me, Tanka is pretty clean, well-run and the most important part... the food didn't seem funky and overdone. i actually went tonight to eat with a friend and there was this Chinese dish made with squid, peapods and carrots. Oh man, it was pretty fresh, lightly seasoned and with crunchy peapods... definitely my favourite offering of the night Tanka may not be cheap and perhaps not the best buffet in São Paulo, but i have nothing really to complain about here
