I've done therapy in the past, and none was as effective as my time with Tara. And the pain is gone.

We even left the place arguing after the first session. My Husband went back to her multiple times and altered the way he thought. He became MEAN, unreasonable, and just not the person who he was when we went in. I tried again with her and she refused to see us again as a couples even thought he agreed to it. It RUINED our relationship. We had to seek a new therapist to re-help us for our old issues and NEW ones. Thankfully the new one got us back on a great path to where I can understand him more and he can understand me more without us getting defensive. My husband and I started asking around about her and we aren't the first ones to experience this either. Now, she maybe some peoples style but she was not what we needed. People say not every therapist is the one for you and it's very important to make sure you've chosen the right one who will understand you and guide you to where you want to be in life. I was blessed to find Tonya, the perfect one for me, the very first time I had enough guts to reach out to a therapist whom I thought MAY be a good fit for me. Tonya certainly was it for me, and we began our journey to success. She was never too impulsive to speak over me, tell me what I should do, nor try to control me in any way as a way to protect me from what she may see as a potential mistake... she let me make my own mistakes, which was very important for me in my personal journey... she helped me to own my thoughts/behaviors, understand the intentions behind it, the root cause of it and how to look at it differently in order to ultimately, transform my way of thinking, coping and my relationships with people, which spanned across all aspects of my life. There was always a strong level of comfort and security during my sessions with her. Tonya is extremely knowledgeable about codependency, addicts, victims of addicts and relationship issues, and helped me to understand myself more than I ever have in my entire life! She allowed me to go through my cycles without making me feel guilty for regressing, which enabled me to persevere. After every session, I would take home AT LEAST two new perspectives or "ah-ha" moments, which will continue to resonate with me for life - most of those moments came from the well-constructed, thought-provoking questions she would ask me (after I've been blabbing for probably 15 minutes). She was always patient with me and very aware of my transformation (although I could not see it sometimes). She read me so very well and paid close attention to detail. I would not be where I am today physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally if Tonya was not a part of my life when I needed a therapist the most. She deserves a HUGE recommendation for anyone struggling with codependency, relationship issues, as well as all others she specializes in. Thank you, Tonya, for everything you've done for me. You are a gifted and special person. - Lauren :)

I had problems that I KNEW from my own years of research that were hypermobility related from my teenage years after a fibromyalgia diagnosis at like 19/20 years old. I found the fascia institute on my own and knew I wouldn't be able to afford the initial protocol beforehand - flash forward a few years later - I am getting an actual referral from my neurologist after getting recommendations from my primary care doctor, my dermatologist, my physical therapists, from my allergist/ENT, and other specialists that I had been seeing through Medicaid of all things. I knew this was the place I needed to be. Yeah, they don't take Medicaid (yet, maybe?) but they will superbill you for reimbursement. I was able to crowdfund/ask my friends and fellow musicians for help because they also knew something was wrong and literally dozens of other specialists were writing me off and telling me that my nearly 20 year old childhood fibromyalgia diagnosis (from a top Rush teaching hospital in Chicago none the less) was the cause for my issues rather than doing the work ups that FIT did. I already knew I had the MTHFR mutation, I already knew I had other genetic issues. So I KNEW that I was going to a clinic that could make more sense of wtf was going on instead of being told that my previous diagnosis was a be-all, end-all. Shame on y'all for saying they're a scam and keeping people from asking for help. If you are dealing with a complex situation that has been written off for years - do it. And ask them for the records because I have had no problem so far getting diagnosis codes and files when I need them. Maybe some of y'all need to be advocating for yourself with other specialists or learning about why you are coming here in the first place - there are other options out there if you don't feel like this is worth your bag. This isn't a pill mill or a pain clinic. Believe me, I've been to countless doctors and specialists and been poked and prodded and cried myself to sleep before this - for my Medicaid covered doctors to be referring me to the Fascia Institute and Dr. Courseault was not taken lightly. Those specialists kind of knew already that I would have to pay out of pocket but STILL referred me anyway. Multiple specialists - like I said. (Also: I didn't get a single injection and they even asked me what I could afford to pay for the supplements that I VERY MUCH genetically need before helping me figure out why to start with and how to shop around) Moral of the story - the medical field will ALWAYS be a "practice" and it's up to YOU to come at it with your whole chest if you feel like someone isn't listening or has done you wrong. That's the only way you will get "better" and people will be held accountable - Even yourself. Attached is just one of the segments of official diagnoses that I have even trying to prove for nearly 20 years a being told I was just a woman with anxiety.
