Travis has saved my digital skin twice now. The first time was several months ago when I found to…read moremy surprise and chagrin that my laptop screen was severely cracked. It's an HP and when I notified the company I was told the repair would be over $400, required me shipping it to them of course, and would take a week or so. I wanted an option so I found Pure PC Repair through Yelp. Travis took it the same day and within a few days my laptop was back in my hands with a new screen for $200. Today I tried to boot my computer and it was a no-go. Just wouldn't respond. I called HP Smart Friend with whom I have a contract and worked with the consultant for about an hour as he tried, in futility, to get the machine to start. Finally the technician declared I had either a fried motherboard or a dead battery. I could send it to HP and they would repair for $612.67. It would take about a week. The tech also suggested that I consider just buying a new computer. I was pretty bummed cuz the laptop is only 16 months old. Once again I called Pure PC and Travis told me to bring it right over. He took a look while I waited, first checking the battery. That was found not to be the problem so he checked something else to no avail. Then he took out a small part and said he was going to "drain the CMOS." (Whatever that is). Bingo! That did the trick. Travis cleaned up the machine, applied some CPU paste (for reasons I can't fathom), and put it back together. In less time than I had spent on the phone with HP, Travis had my PC back in mid-season form. The cost: $20. Twenty bucks! NOT $612.27. Color me happy.

He offered next-step options (send to Apple or a place in Burlington) but said they may or may not work and would likely be pricey. True to his logo - "No fix, No Fee" - Travis charged nothing for the time he took to help. I appreciate his time and honest approach and would go there again for any computer issue.
