Lynn at the main branch has tackled and resolved every financial issue I've come up with. As fast as Citizens is growing I'm afraid Bank of America will buy Citizens and ruin a good thing.

I've had two accounts here for probably 12 years. They are my own accounts, not joint family ones…read moreso it's usually a total of only between $2k-$8k held here any given month. I used to enjoy the small-town feel and friendliness, but lately it's been awful. For many transactions, I seem to receive a teller that is either rude, or unknowledgable. With a simple deposit I'm left to wait, then asked silly questions like "actually your occupation's not on file, can you update your account" etc. There is a girl there, young, straight blond hair that is just so unfriendly, that I've decided to part ways with the bank. Every year my young son receives a birthday check from my best friend. It's usually around $20, she (is a police officer) and likes to teach him about checks and banking, even though he's too young to have enough cash to even open a child's account. I think it's a sweet gesture. He enjoys going there, normally they are aware I'm a long-standing customer and I co-endorse the check with him so he can get the cash. No one has ever questioned it or told me it could be a problem, ever. Not when he was 6, 7, 8.. But this last time, this girl acted confused and put out, asked another teller for help on how to handle it (because my son doesn't have an account in his name and the check was made out to him) and told me "just so you know, our accounting won't like this." Well, too bad sweetheart and congrats, you just lost a customer. Thanks for making my little boy lose excitement about getting a check. When he is old enough and ready to start banking, thanks to this girl, it certainly won't be with Citizens. Go elsewhere with your money, where they are friendlier, and more professional. Even though there is no drive-up and it's less convenient, I'm switching to Chase down the street.

I did just hear yesterday that they're no longer part of the union and that's heart wrenching. I wonder what happened. I have had auto and homeowner's insurance with this agency for over 20 years, but recently…read moreincompetent associates have been hired. Last year I walked into the agency and wrote a check for boatowner's insurance. I made the check out for that day to start the insurance. The associate chose an alternate date out of her head to start the insurance. I was very upset and it took three associates to correct her mistake. This year, I sold a car and called the agency to remove the car from my insurance. The associate said he was working remotely from home. Instead of cancelling the insurance, he sent me a bill and renewal cards for the car. So I called back and explained the error to another associate who was likewise working remotely from home. She apologized for the mistake and said she would correct it. Instead, she changed the renewal date for my other car. My insurance on that car is paid through July 6, but she changed it to June 9th. Plus she added that there is a change in "owner information." Jeff, get control of your associates or I will take my insurance business elsewhere.
