This is absolutely a terrible school. Teachers and staff with brains are always fighting against the bulkwork of nonsense and ignorant ideologies of other teachers and staff. They once had an assembly that told the entire study body that dragons were real. If you do any activities other than football, you and the program won't get the attention or money you deserve - even if the football team is a total disgrace, losing every game but one on a good year. They certainly are not teaching kids basic civics, otherwise this kid may have taken a plea deal instead of going to trial for shooting a guy 5 times.

This kid was the star of the football team, and received more attention from staff then his life decisions or school work deserved. The real focus is on their money marker, sports. They brag about academics, but it is easy to brag when your competition is one of the worst public schools in the state. If that local public school wasn't so bad, less kids would attend fayette academy.
I was witness to an 7th grade science teacher yelling at a kid for his lack of religious beliefs, and an 8th grade math teacher screaming at a kid because he was a Democrat. I saw another science teacher, who happened to be the baseball couch, throw a desk across the room and then process not to teach his course during the spring because of baseball. We sat there, for 5 months, doing nothing. Don't count on their personal finance class to teach your child anything. That teacher was the football couch. Parents paid this man money to couch football and pretend to be a teacher, which is deplorable given how much you are paying, especially if you kid does not play football but still has to attend that class.
If you are interested in sending your child to an absolutely unprofessional environment, headed up by religious people who lack any real christian values, and making sure they remember their high school years as something to forget - then by all means send your kid here.
Racism is a huge issue because the children are hardly or never exposed to other races K through 12. Trips to the civil rights museum are an issue because of how vilgar and ignorant kids can and have become in a closed loop environment.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Don't let the new gym and fancy fence distract you from the simply fact that its still a trailer park with cheap, fake brick on the front of the building.
I went to this school for more than a decade, graduated, and went on to college to get a good job. The only thing I can say in full faith that hasn't already been said is that this school showed me what not to be, how not to act, and how not to treat others, all through the deplorable and somewhat sad actions or staff and teachers.
