I was surprised to find delicious falafel in Prague. Check out El Emir for a great falafel sandwich served with marinated vegetables. The tahina served on the side was so addictive. In reality only the building was open, the stores themselves were closed. When visiting Prague this was one of the more fascinating aspects I learned about the city. In addition to the many inter-building corridors, almost like shortcut passageways between streets, there are entire buildings open late into the night or 24 hours that passerby can enjoy as public spaces or arcades to walk through. Of course there are security guards and cameras posted all over and you can't just loaf around, instigate shenanigans or sleep in these spots. I was impressed by how safe, clean and well maintained they kept these passages; this mall was no exception. I walked the perimeter of 3 of the 5 floors and took a look around. What I saw--the mall is shaped like an oblong disc with a center atrium and a tall 5 story island in the middle, which also has stores. As of fall 2024 they had many commonly seen stores in Europe: H&M, Marks & Spencer, dm, Luxor, a lot of sporty brands like Geox, Converse, adidas, Vans Lacoste, Columbia, North Face as well as other apparel retailers like Gap, Falconeri, Levi's Guess, CalvinKlein, Intimissimi, Armani Exchange. Sephora, MAC, Lush, Claire's and L'occitane were some of the beauty retailers. Aside from this you can find a variety of specialty stores with accessories, electronics, toys, housewares, kids play zone. Downstairs in the basement was Albert supermarket and on the fifth floor a food hall with pretty typical mall food court offerings--Kentucky Fried Chicken, a handful of fast food Asian stalls, Burger King, McD's, ice cream, donuts, bubble tea and of course Starbucks (though this was on a lower level). So all in all quite a normal mall spread out over five floors.

Of course, there are many boutiques all over town, but this multiple story building conveniently located at the bottom half of Vaclavske Namesti (Wenceslaw square) can be a one-stop-shop where both women and men can dress themselves from head to toe. The prices are on the higher end in accordance with the brands on offer. However, do watch out for sales, as during sales season you can snatch many a bargain for completely high street prices. When it comes to regular shopping, it might be a good idea to be in the know about the general price range of the brands abroad, as unfortunately Van Graaf has not completely escaped the Czech phenomenon of selling clothing for pricier than it is abroad. But still, I think that generally this is a great shop to get some solid wardrobe pieces which you want to last for long. There is a good mixture of work appropriate/more formal wear and trendy & casual pieces on offer. Especially guys will enjoy the big choice of shirts, with plethora of men's shirts greeting them right by the entry on the ground floor (often with good sales), and further pieces at the floor dedicated solely to men's fashion. For ladies, there is a good mixture of classic and trendy styles, and also quite a nice evening wear section (not too extensive, but it's a good place to start and get an idea if you are looking to upgrade your ballroom season wardrobe). It focuces more on comfortable cloth for a free time spent outside. I like especially pants because they have a lot of pockets and they have a lot of kinds. My favourite pants are those with removable lower trousers leg so if needed I can turn pants into shorts. Perfect for the moments when you are outside and it get hotter than you have expected. But anyway, they have other cool stuff too. Prices are very reasonable and I think that ration price/quality is very good. I have never had a problem with service (I go mainly to Šterboholy). They are always nice and ready to help you.
