We stopped here for a late dinner while staying in the area. Service was friendly and fast, our waitress Diane was especially friendly and had us laughing all night. Our food came quick, and was better than expected. We were under the impression it would be classic bar food, but it exceeded our expectations. The person taking the order seemed bothered that we had the nerve to order food. When time came to pay, I had to track the person down so I can pay and leave. We have been living in the area for a few years now and just got to visit Fatman's for the first time. How is that even possible? My husband and I went on a Thursday night to grab a quick bite and have a few drinks. We didn't even know it was bingo night, but what a great thing! I am so picky with my cosmos, and these ones were really good, not so sweet not so bitter. For food I got a basket with fried shrimp and chicken. This definitely could have been shared, it was huge and yummy. The hubby got his beers -passed the cold check - and ate the porker burger. That one was interesting bbq rubbed burger on a pretzel bun. Can't wait for the summer, they have a really nice patio and for what I heard some volleyball. We are happy we discovered a local cool bar nearby our place. The bacon wrapped shrimp were literally cover d in thick crispy bacon (plenty of bacon for my bacon lovers) didn't really touch the bed of rice much. I mean it's rice. Fries were good and crisp with the adequate amount of salt for me. Not too salty and not under salted. Ok the rib tips were really good. The meat was stained well and the sauce was really good. It's pretty tender as well. I don't know about it being smoked per say but it is good. If you're a person looking for that smoke flavor, this "may" not be your cup of tea. I was honestly hoping for that but understand I'm not down south and this is typically the BBQ up north. Service was quick and friendly. I didn't have to go looking for my food and it was hot and fresh. There atmosphere is very chill and relaxed. Everyone is conversing and enjoying themselves. Oh there's ooen sand volleyball out back as well. There's also an eating area and bar outside. A lot of people ordered they'll their burgers, so maybe that's the speciality here not BBQ. We went on a week day when they were having volleyball and it was kinda hard to find a parking spot but it was buzzing with business. I like how big the place is and the setting was very comfortable. The vibe here is very in line with what you'd expect from a sports bar, with many adornments and numerical references to local sports staples. The wings were really good, though I say this with a grain of salt because it takes some effort to really screw up wings. While we were driving by Fatmans we saw a poster that said fish fry Friday so we stopped in to grab some fish. After ordering we were waiting about twenty minutes when one of what I can only assume was a manager came by and apologized to us saying that one of the employees dropped all of the fish and there was none left and that we had to order something else. He was incredibly kind about it and offered us each a beer and agreed to give us a free appetizer which we took and was very good. No problems there he was very nice and apologetic, we completely understood and had no problem with that, especially after he said he wasn't going to add whatever we ordered to the bill. The problems came after we waited another 20 minutes after we ordered again and had finally eaten, first there was a spider crawling down from the light which was incredibly dusty, then a few minutes later we look over to the wall and see a cockroach crawling down from behind a painting right at our table. We were officially upset about the whole situation after that happened. However, we were optimistic after he said he wasn't going to add the burgers to the bill, assuming we were going to get some sort of discount for not getting the food we ordered and waiting another 20-30 minutes for our food after we ordered the second time. That was not the case. The bill comes back and as we look at it we see that they still charged us for the fish despite not getting it and the burgers being cheaper than the fish. But that's not all. As we were talking about our bill to our waitress we pointed out the fact that there was a spider and a cockroach on our table, before we even said anything she knew what we were talking about and said they spray once or twice a week for cockroaches and tried to explain it away about the building being old. At this point we're so angry that we had to just pay and leave because we are just trying to enjoy our weekend out of town and not cause a scene. I don't understand how the health department hasn't shut them down yet. I am thoroughly disappointed and wished we had a better experience but it was gross and I still feel like I have bugs crawling on me an hour later. read more

Farman's was A pub I passed by a lot going home to Illinois from Milwaukee always wanted to try, my first experience was very average nothing special about this place very over priced the chili they advertised as "The best homemade chili" was very bland nothing special about the cheese curds the ranch was actually pretty good.
