But really, how can you not love a shop that makes doorstops in the shape of elephants?! Always the place to go for floral frocks in the seventies, the fashion at Laura Ashley remains pretty cool! This new-ish store has a particularly good range of posh party frocks, classic separates and luxury knitwear. There's also a superb range of homeware, which like the elephant doorstop I mentioned earlier - is unusual, eccentric and very British! Yeah, everything is a bit pricey. But with cute retro items like polka dot tea towels and matching cake stands, you'll find it far too easy to part with your cash. I find all this stuff particularly good for gifts!
