So, I sprained my ankle while drunk walking in downtown. They next day I decided to go to an urgent care to make sure it wasn't broken. FastMed lets you reserve a checkin time online. I like this feature versus just showing up and not knowing how long you have to wait to be seen. They also let you enter in all of your insurance information online as well. Very nice feature. I showed up at the time booked. I had to wait about 10 minutes before they took me to the back. When you show up, they do ask for your insurance card, which I had to email to the receptionist. You also have to fill out a form or two, some of this was redundant to the form I completed online prior to coming in. I'm not a fan of duplicating information. Not a huge issue, just something they should improve upon. The nurse and doctor were great. No issues with the care and advice I received. Xray showed it was just a sprain. They booted it and sent me on my way. When I was there, the wait wasn't bad. The service I received was very good. I would recommend. read more

I've been to better healthcare urgent care, the African American front desk, their receptionist has no personality and was pushing me to reschedule, the boss told him to not cancel any schedule and he was reprimanded. Dull with handling the business in the front desk, the PA was good with listening with my issue, and prescribed me with medication but few days later, I've called them to report the side effect, the person handling over the phone didnt seem to care about the problem, and placed me in 15 minutes hold. I called back and vented and she said she will notify the PA. They dont take the time to really listen to it, and sadly, Im a new patient of theirs. I dont know if I can recommend this place to anyone. read more

Terrible experience with Amanda dolls the manager there. My niece had been sitting in the urgent care for 4 hours and she simply asked the nurse how long he thought it would be. In comes the sorry excuse for a manger and unsightly Amanda dolls to tell her she's disrespectful to ask how much longer it could be and my niece told her all she needed was ear drops which Amanda got an attitude and then kicked my niece out because she because irritated with Amanda's disgusting and gross behavior (really matches the way she looks). Don't go in here it will take hours because every time she goes in it takes at least 3 hours and she is such an insensitive manager. Save yourself the money and terrible experience. read more

Dr. Bradly and my Nurse Erica were so professional and the absolute best urgent care i have been to in the Wilmington area. They were fast and got me in and out in under an hour, feeling way better and confident about my injury as i left, i will definitely be back (hopefully not tho)) . Usually I have a great experience at this fastmed. But this morning, the front receptionist was incredibly rude and pushy to everyone including me in the waiting room. I understand this can be a stressful job but I work in the service industry and I have never & will never treat anyone with the blatant rudeness that was shown today. I was utterly shocked. I was so uncomfortable and I'm sure others were too. I bursted out in tears as soon as I was transferred to the patient room in front of the doctor nonetheless who I explained this to. I am someone who suffers from anxiety and I am now worried she will be working again next time I need to come in. This is unacceptable and unprofessional especially for a doctors clinic. I came in because I had been sick for 2 weeks and I was headed to Australia for work for two month. I was the second patient in the door that morning and the receptionist was 20 min late. No big deal because nobody else came in. I figure see the Dr. get some antibiotics and on the road. I ask the Dr. for a Z pack antibiotics because being 46 years old and that always knocking out my sickness in as little as 2 days. The Dr. told me he didn't believe in antibiotics. I think they should put that on the sign outside so I didn't waste my money. So after doing X-rays twice and 2.5 hrs later he prescribed me a inhaler And steroids. Well here we are in Australia and now I've been sick for 4 weeks. I went to the Dr here and because they don't take American insurance it cost me 786$ to get antibiotics and it's day 2 and I'm feeling great. Dr at FastMed was arrogant to me and his employees. Amanda, the Clinic Team Leader, was incredibly kind and caring, even when we were still there 30 minutes after closing time. We were never made to feel rushed. The Provider, Jeff, was amazing! He was thorough and very knowledgeable. He typed up his report and even gave us a copy prior to our leaving. *I have Cystic Fibrosis* I probably won't come here again. I came in January for a fever and I tested negative for flu/strep/mono so the nurse practitioner (?) Prescribed a steroid shot and Prednisone. I can't remember if it helped or not but I feel like I returned to my normal Cystic Fibrosis and got antibiotics because I got sick again after. This time (August) I went in with a fever, cough, *chest pain* and some other things. I mentioned that I have CF which is a lung disease and I'm experiencing these weird symptoms especially the pain. The wait time, as it was back in January, was very long. I was here from 5ish to 830. They tested for flu and it was negative. Gave me the steroid shot again and Prednisone again and sent me on my way. I didn't feel comfortable with this diagnosis so I just went to NHRMC and they ran tests and I have *pneumonia* and admitted to the hospital :// I just think it would help if there was more awareness for my condition and maybe more testing like a chest x-ray at least. read more

Made an appointment for 6pm early in the morning through the Fastmed wbaite. Called around 2pm and told that the office closes at 6 and the appointment was cancelled. Drove to the clinic door and website clearly state open to 8pm. Made an appintment for the following day at 8am when the clinic opened and still waiting about an hour into it. Staff was not real helpful or truthful even when cancelling an appointment. A simple preemplymemt drug screen should not take over an hour. read more

Let's start out with the facility this place looks like a Mexican hospital in downtown Tijuana it's absolutely disgusting inside and I'm sure there are tons of germs.This is also the most over priced doctors office you could go to in the town of Wilmington North Carolina. You are going to have to wait most likely an hour or two to see a doctor no matter the time of day. They are going to charge you a couple grand just to tell you to go to a specialist after you wait in the actual procedure room for around an hour. Also customer service is miserable I got a Covid test a few months back at this facility and basically they won't be calling you, you will be calling them to try to get the results. read more

Very friendly staff and accommodating. I am new to Wilmington and do not have a family Dr yet, so stopped in when I came down with a sinus infection. It was pretty busy, but was offered a bottle of water and checked on while I waited. Once in the back, it was quick and painless. They quickly diagnosed me and had me on my way. My biggest surprise came a few days later when they called to check in on me and see how I was doing. Get to appointment and fill out the same information on an iPad that wouldn't work as well as paper.. so three times I've done this now while my child is crying in pain. The receptionist has the personality of a salted slug. Awful attitude! when he called me back up to stand there for 10 minutes while he was on the phone with no explanation of why he needed me I finally asked if he still needed me to stand there and he shook his head.. no words! Took what felt like 20 minutes to check in because I had to use an iPad. Was not sure what I had so he prescribed me with antibiotics for strep. Took a culture sample and said that they would call me when the results came in. I called a few days later and they said they had not received the results yet but would let me know when they did. PLEASE BE AWARE AND LOOK AT ALL CHARGES! I have a family member that has disputed charges for unauthorized test from a visit that they have now turned over to collections. Charges that we thought had been taken care of but it seems the person that told us they had taken care of this is no longer with FASTMED. Thinking that all had been taken care of this family member went in for a Covid test and was told there was a past due balance and so they paid the "past due fee" because they would not see her if she did not and then the next week they turned her over to collections for the same "past due fees" that she paid for in there office on 6/18! Please make sure you know what you are being charged for. The site manager will say she can't do anything about charges and the accounts payable department will not call you back assuming you will just pay the bill. I WOULD SUGGEST ANOTHER URGENT CARE UNLESS YOU HAVE ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD AND CAN JUST PAY WHATEVER THEY BILL YOU. I even spoke to the Regional Manager, Rhonda, who said she would look into this and call me back - she NEVER called back! read more

On Thursday my 19 year old son went in for a laceration on his knee. I was on the phone with him since I am in Virginia and he is there for school. The "dr" commented to him about being on the phone, I responded with I'm Mom and I am staying put. She then called me "odd". I was SHOCKED and asked her who she was talking to. My son then says " mom I'm not getting a good feeling her hands are shaking". She slammed the tray away and said " if you need your mom maybe I should just put a bandaid on it". I LOST It. Who in the world does she think she is! I told my son to LEAVE NOW. As he was walking out she was threatening to call the police! I told her that I was going to call because she was verbally assaulting my son! He was at the counter and the receptionist gave him the name to another clinic with "a better provider". He said to me that the dr was behind the counter rolling her eyes at him and I and "shewing" him away with her hand. He and I were shocked. When he went out side we both started crying. I have NEVER experienced anything like that let alone far away from my kid. I sent him to NHRMC Urgent Care where the staff was lovely and walked us both through the experience complete with a hug for him after he shared what happened at your clinic. I will do whatever I need to to have that provider removed. I have phone calls and emails into the corporate offices. They have already refunded my copay and the corporate office was very concerned by my experience. read more

I went here after calling about an ingrown toe, which they said they could treat. The nurse told me it was not infected and tried to send me home with pain killers. I squeezed pus out of my swollen red toe and said it was infected and I needed help. He gave me an antibiotic and google print out on how to care for an ingrown nail, I had already been trying to treat at home for a month with googles instructions. I asked if the medication was safe for breast feeding...he said "oh you are breast feeding, let me check". I had written that I was breast feeding all over my intake paperwork. I thought they were actually going to remove the ingrown nail...which I had to have done anyways 2 weeks later. I was treated like a junkie looking for pain killers instead of a patient. On top of it, my insurance was billed $176 for what I was told would be $125 and I am supposed to pay $96. I have since spent $320 to have a real doctor treat the problem. I was not happy at all with this business. Update - 2/7/2017 This matter was resolved. I hope in the future if a patient calls about an ailment it will be treated and not ignored. Also I hope the doctors will make sure to pay attention if some one is breast feeding. I was very happy with the directors response and concern. read more

My husband came down with a cold and our regular doc was out. Went to our local urgent care only to be told they did not take our insurance and they would have to charge $240 for an office visit. Checked online and found our insurance was accepted at Fastmed. Was seen very quickly. Few days later my husband managed to pass his creeping crud on to me, so back to Fastmed we went.
