I found this place since I was going to be in Flushing to eat. Obviously, hunger is always the first priority then it's errands I've been putting off forever. The repair shop is in the basement. Gavriel looked at my purse and knew exactly what to do. He's been working in that same shop for 30 years which is amazing in itself. He fixed it in 5 minutes and it looked better than I bought it! He only charged me $10 which was much cheaper than other repair shops who quoted me $20. Please support his small business, he's such a kind man and does excellent work.

I said no, because when I dropped them off Wednesday, I specifically told him I was leaving Sunday. Additionally, I'm going to the game today that starts at 4 (he closes at 6) and I'm leaving tomorrow. If you can't fulfill the job, don't agree to do it. If I had agreed to let him do it and come back in a couple hours, I know it would have been a rush job and everything he would have done would have come undone.

Doesn't even look fixable. Essentially lost a few thousand dollars. Service 0 Mr Lin lacks intelligence why people would get their shoes fixed for $35 a pair. Can't comprehend that he should call customers before putting on a black sole when I specifically told him not to put on a black sole on top of the red soles. I wanted to give better rating because Mr. Lin seems like a nice person but his workmanship is poor. Who repairs cheap shoes these days? It is cheaper to buy another pair of cheap shoes. Most people get their shoes repaired if it is worth fixing. He made my designer shoes worth-less. If you have a cheap shoes that has sentimental values, might be ok to go get them repaired by him. I saw the sign for this place and went in. You need to speak Mandarin to get any service here, but honestly, don't even bother coming. The owner is a major asshole. He didn't seem to want to help me at all. I asked him if he could repair my heels and he said he couldn't get to it today and I would have to leave it for a few days. I then asked if they could be ready tomorrow and he said no. So then I asked if they could be ready by Thursday (Thanksgiving) and he said that is an American holiday and he didn't know if he would be open, and that his wife would make that decision. So basically, he couldn't tell me when the heels would be repaired. He didn't seem interested in helping at all. I told him there was a Mr. Lin down the street that could repair shoes within half an hour and he said, "well go there." This guy was rude, unhelpful and didn't seem like he cared to make any business. I advise not going here to get your shoes fixed, go to Lin's shoe repair and without the hassle.

Before finally deciding to give a try to my neighborhood shoe repair store, I have done some researches on Yelp, which led me to bookmark a few places across Queens and Brooklyn (After paying nearly $50 to put soles on a pair of leather shoes previously, I made an effort to avoid shoe repair shops in Manhattan). Thanks to my indolence to drop off and then pick up the first three pairs of shoes in another part of town, I decided to pay a visit to the shoe repair store in my part of town. I was happy to find a married couple running this place when I first entered. Compared to three other shoe repair places I visited before where only men were found behind the counter, I found this place cleaner, brighter, and a lot friendlier. After picking up the three pairs of shoes only two days later, I couldn't be more satisfied with the fast service, price, quality of material and craftsmanship. It cost about $35 to add soles to the front and back of the shoes. Unlike my previous pair where the added soles had the same thickness (or should I say thinness) for both the front and back, these shoes got thicker heels to better endure the usual wear and tear. These mom-and-pop owners are super friendly and I could tell they have the customer's interest in mind rather than just their own bottom line. I received some discounts on the shoes and even got a free pair of laces to replace a pair that had ripped. I think you have enough reasons to visit them yourself. Any additional extolling of this place would make me sound like a spokesperson.
