Fimally,I took it to The Furniture Hospital who said repairing it wouldn't be a problem. A WEEK later I got a call that it was finished. I picked it up and you could hardly tell it had ever been broken. And it only cost $100 + tax. What's more,the chair is sturdy enough for normal use,not just to look at. The table and leaves were in good, but not great shape, and the edge treatment ('distressed') was not our style. We contacted Kittinger and inquired as to their willingness to refinish the table and the leaves. They offered to do this work at a very reasonable price, so I rented a trailer and brought the pieces to them from Ohio. [Ray Bialkowski, the owner, met me on a holiday weekend and gave me a tour of the factory!!!] The work was completed within four weeks and the results were amazing! Every scratch and gouge was gone, the finish looked like it just came out of the factory brand new, and the responsiveness of the entire staff was all one could ask for.
