During my first visit, I was told, "Come back in 6 months--too many layers!" I followed that advice and returned after 6 months, only to be told, "Still one layer left--come back in 3 months!" So, I came back today, hoping for some progress, but what I received was beyond frustrating. The stylist was rude and refused to cut my hair at all. I asked for at least a trim or some shape around my face, but he outright declined. He conveyed his refusal with a statement that was dismissive and condescending, saying he wouldn't cut my hair just because I wanted something different. I live in Rome and travel frequently, making it difficult to schedule haircuts. I'm furious that he wasted my time, especially after giving him multiple chances. I've never encountered a stylist who couldn't create a hairstyle or a transitional look for long, straight hair with fringe bangs. It makes me question his talent and creativity. I cannot recommend HeadSpace Salon based on this experience. It's disheartening to feel ignored and undervalued as a client. I see based on the other negative reviews, I'm not alone in this experience. I can speak quite a bit of Italian but I'm not fluent, so I used Google translate, because when it comes to my hair, I don't want misunderstandings. Maybe he only likes to cut Italians. Popped in here after my morning run, and was met by a charming redhead named Constanza, who didnt…read morereally speak English, but was savvy enough to use google translate, welcomed me in and answered my questions regarding pricing, etc. I came back in after an hour, and decided on a haircut for €25. ( It's €20 for styling, and they charge €40 if you get the two together. But i opted out of the styling, which they call "brushing"). Inside, a cute little blonde with a hi-lit pixie cut listens in as Constanza and I talked. Elena seems to be one of the main stylists, and she discusses/gives Constanza directions. Constanza washes my hair, and then switches with Elena (who was giving an old lady a trim on the next chair). I had shown Elena a picture of what I wanted (a pagecut with hard bangs, a style I saw on a tall Italian brunette in Venice), but my hair was too short. She starts snipping away anyway, evening out my page cut and buzzing the part at the back, and cutting the front. We communicated some more using Google Translate and i told her i just want it straight at the back. Afterwards, it looked pretty slick and neat, altho part of my bangs were longer and couldve been cut more uniformly - but tucked behind the ear, they looked natural . I had my mom come in and check it out (and pay for it - apparently i forgot my euros on my bed!). She said it looked great and we paid the ladies. Elena spoke on my Google translate that she cut it so that it will grow evenly. Great! I think the salon is lovely and doesnt have a nasty smell, and the ladies are really super sweet. If you ever come up to Cortona, and are in need of a haircut, they are worth a visit! I mean €25 is like $30 which is what I pay my salon in LA. Prego, Ciao! EDIT: i went back after lunch (not during siesta, they close between 130-330pm) & had elena fix my bangs to a blunt straight "fringe", which totally looks like how sleek italian ladies have theirs. I can honestly say I got the absolute BEST haircut I've ever had in my LIFE from the beautiful blonde stylist!! (I unfortunately don't remember her name). I can't tell you how happy I've been with the cut, and don't know what she did different than anyone else who has cut my hair has done, but I would be a very happy lady if I could make the trip back to this salon every six weeks...!! :)
