Farthings at Home is a great deli, but it is very, very pricey in my estimations. I bought some maple syrup in there recently and it cost just under £6.00. Now I know that the cost of maple syrup has gone up inordinately, and that the brand (an average one) is organic, but this is a little extreme! It's usual to pay over £4.00 for maple syrup in supermarkets, but you can find it cheaper at either Lidl or Aldi where I bought some for about £3.00, but I can't remember exactly which one... try 'em both! And. I think it was organic... but quite oddly, for a high cost food item, there is usually little to no difference in the pricing structure of organic and non-organ syrup.
I still visit Fathings when I feel like a treat, and want to splash out. They do the best of everything, and so you'll never be disappointed with the quality. If I was on a high income I'd shop here all the time. They have an extensive stock range, and so you can pretty much avoid the supermarket when buying the ingredients for dinner. read more
