Plus there's sometimes really cool community events here, like the one they had with a professor talking about the total solar eclipse in 2017. If you want a book and this branch has it but another High Plains Library branch does, they'll order it for you and you can pick it up here. The staff are usually extremely kind and helpful, too. It's just a great library in general.

Beautifully situated among open spaces, with a Frisbee golf area just across the parking lot, it also has walking/bike paths, a bike repair area (we LOVED that!) drive thru book return, and friendly, helpful staff. While, not the largest of libraries...for this "small town", what a library it has! You can put on hold any item and if this particular location does not have the item, they will get it for you. I read a lot, and use the online system for asking for books, and have been very happy with how that all works. I also appreciate how they will try to get inter library loans for me as well, and consider requests for purchase.

Its easy to find items and my daughter frequently gets a pile of books every time we go. It has in the past always been easy to get a computer when we have needed it at this location as well. THough i have not tried since covid happened. We are always happy going to this location. And definitely feel safe going to this location the downtown location unfortunately that is not the case anymore.

Typically I do not require assistance as I usually put items on hold so just visit to pick them up or return them outside, but I've never had any issues doing so.

The library itself is nice but every time I have been there there have been very loud people…read morethroughout all areas, sometimes even screaming. People speak on speaker phone and play music loudly without earphones. This is not the fault of the library but the staff does not support with it at all or stop it. Definitely do not come if you need quiet or need to focus, if you need to do something where quiet doesn't matter then it is a fine place.

I'm writing this review from the perspective of a mom with small children. This library has a good…read moreselection of books for young kids, and quite a lot of books in different languages as well, all within reach so that they can make their own choices. The children's area is at the back of the library, and there are several comfortable areas to sit and read with the kids. The large windows in this area provide plenty of natural light, and also allow inquisitive children to look down upon people and cars milling around below, and watch the dogs playing at the dog park. There are also educational activity centers in this area, so the kids can move around a bit. This my kids' favorite Fort Collins library.

The library is well organized and has plenty of selection. If they dont have what you want, you can always place a hold and they will get it moved there for you. Even books from non poudre libraries. My partner and I used the study rooms here a lot. We both have disabilities, I have to use a cane…read moreto walk and my general mobility isn't good. This is why we used the rooms, they are the most accessible way for us to visit the library. Well today, one of the upstairs librarians made us move out of the study room we were in, granted it was just after our scheduled time elapsed, but it's the last 45 minutes before closing, there were no reservations after us, and its never been an issue any of the dozens of times we've visited. She popped her head in to tell us we had to go somewhere else so "other people can use the room." After a little back and forth, mostly just asking why its an issue now, we obliged and packed up, then went downstairs to leave. We spoke with a different librarian down stairs to get more insight and all he offered was "we have to make the rooms look available so more people reserve them." He repeated the same answer after we pointed out that no one can make a reservation within the last hour of operation. If there had been an actual reservation after us, thats a different convo. We get up and leave, no issue. The irony that we had to ask a lady that was still in the room when we showed up to leave and then wait for a few minutes while she packed up is just hilarious. I'm severely disappointed in this visit, there seems to be inconsistent enforcement of policy, as well as asinine policies (ex. at the end of previous paragraph). Not really feeling like I want to go to this location anymore.
