Yes, he worked with me on timing and did an amazing job! The wrap around deck looks amazing again.

They used to build nice homes but now they've turned to grifting. Bonnie and David Pickartz…read more(owners) worked with us for over a year on designs, took our $90,000 for materials and then began the never-ending round of excuses, delays and outright lies. It will be a year in October since we paid and it's been 3 months since we cancelled our contract...still haven't seen a penny! Unfortunately we are not the only ones in this situation but we are finding each other and are seeking legal means to recover our money and/or shutting this poor excuse for a business down. Complaints to the Better Business Bureau go unanswered by Pickartz. There are better timber frame companies in Franklin...don't fall for what looks like a viable business!

Bonnie & David Pickartz, owners of Goshen Timber Frames in Franklin, NC, TimberStead online and The…read moreTimber Frame Magazine are the nicest, most cunning people you will meet...that is until they get your money then the games begin. Phone calls go unanswered, excuses and delays abound, promises are broken, and finally banned from the office you are left without a complete set of plans and no dates for the raising of your timber frame. We met in 2009 and would drop in to chat first about timber frames then becoming friends we would go to lunch and share stories of the grandkids and our families whenever we were in the area. In 2011 we signed the design contract and in Oct 2013 we signed the timber frame contract and paid them $98,000 by the end of Jan 2014 with a promise that she was ordering the panels and timbers and getting us on the sawyer's schedule to keep us on "track." The foundation went in the summer and fall of 2014 and we were ready to receive the frame the spring of 2015...when we arrived here in March of 2015 the first thing she told us was that we were not on the cut list...she gave us possible dates, they all came and went...our frame was finally erected April 25, 2016. We withheld 10% of the contract price because the job was incomplete and the threats began. In Aug 2016 we seeked legal counsel...not one letter from our attorney was answered. The attorney hired a forensic architect to come to the house and go over the construction...he wrote a 21 page report of issues he found in his 5 hour visit that needed to be corrected and/or completed such as walls out of plumb, timbers missing and some too short left on the job and not installed, the erection of the front porch, etc. More letters from our attorney that went unanswered. Long story short we received a Default Judgment on May 28, 2018 but have yet to see a penny of it...they filed bankruptcy Dec 13, 2018 the day before their residence was going up for sale on the courthouse steps to satisfy our judgment. We have since learned of several other couples that they have taken money from but never fulfilled their contracts. BUYER BEWARE is our message to anyone considering dealing with Bonnie & David Pickartz, Goshen Timber Frames or TimberStead.

Our realtor recommended Dan from Rapid Router to complete the septic inspection on a home we bought…read morein Franklin. This was done the beginning of November 2020. Since moving in, we have smelled a strong septic odor. We have repeatedly tried to contact Rapid Router to no avail as they signed off on the inspection. Finally asked our realtor to contact Dan as he would not return our calls. My husband spoke to Dan and he stated he would be out at our home on Tuesday 12/15. A crew of three men showed up at our home today, 12/14, looked under the house and used the camera on the line again. They told my husband that the odor was coming from the roof vents. One of the men gave my husband a bill for $150.00. When my husband explained that they had just inspected the line last month, the employee told my husband to forget the charge and asked if he wanted his check back. My husband told him he hadn't given him a check so the employee told my husband to forget the bill. Four hours later, Dan calls me and tells me we still owe the $150.00 and if I don't pay it, he is going to put a lien on our home. He also stated that he didn't want to talk to me. ?? With all the businesses available , I would recommend using a company that treats you with respect and appreciates your business- that is NOT Rapid Router.
