My children have also gone to another "A" school in Westchase and this one might be slightly better, but not by much. All the schools in this area are great schools. AR (Accelerated Reading) testing is encouraged at this school, so my kids do a lot of reading and visits to the library. The AGP program is swift and challenging so your gifted children will thrive here, although science isn't included only math. The last school my children attended included math and science. There are good extracurricular activities available. My children participated in Running Club which is a favorite. There's also chess club and all types of music programs. The music program is fantastic. Mr. Washburn keeps in touch with the parents of children in chorus or any other music program and pushes the children to show artistic creativity in their performances. The vice principal is wonderful and takes time to explain anything a parent has questions about.

Most of the teachers are great and my kids really enjoyed going here. The grounds are kept up pretty good and clean. The drop off and especially the pick up lines are still in need of a better system as it takes almost 45 minutes to pick up each child so you have to prepare for all that. The administration staff seem to have it together as this school again is an A rated school and the leaders of the school have a big part in keeping it that was every single year. School is in Westchase and in a great area for a school. Makes me feel that my child is safe as they have certain policies and systems in place.

My son is currently in 8th grade. He has been attending Carwise since 6th grade. It has offered him a safe and caring environment where he can learn and grow. He enjoys school and does not complain. This isn't something that private schools can easily offer because of the limitations of staff and class size (our experience). At Carwise he's in a classroom full of his peers taking advantage of the opportunity to take advanced classes. We have had the opportunity to meet with teachers and staff as well as nurse, the security officers, principal and counselors and they have all been very helpful and supportive. Having a son with a severe peanut allergy adds to the concerns of a parent and this school has been very good for our son and has put those concerns at ease. Our son also got involved in a team sport. It was fun and challenging. When we enrolled our son it was B rated. It has been an A rated school since. I do wish the car line moved faster. We had a parent/teacher conference and was told our child had a focusing problem and see our pediatrician. I called the school nurse for an evaluation and the school nurse said to skip the pediatrician and see a neurologist and put him i mess, NO JOKE!! Now he has never been in trouble of which required intervention, seen the principal, nor was denoted prior to having issues, he is 10. I suggested that the teacher perhaps was not the right fit which she was offended by clearly. We interviewed a fabulous charter school, met the teachers, and he is in the school doing well, in fact all a's and one c in reading of which the current teacher said not to worry he had to get used to get strategies. I asked her if she noted any problems requiring intervention and said ABSOLUTELY NOT. Had issues the previous year with my other child of which he was never in trouble and the teachers and administration really stunk at the handling if an issue and did not even take the word of a patrol and mentor, of which my son was put through slot if crap for something he didnt do. It's a sport school in name only has zero budget for sports the former head of the ran the Smartest person in the athletic department off, and things went south quickly. It had a football team that accumulate a debt that had no vision two cover the debt. Also they ruined a relationship with the Hillsborough Parks Department that took a few years to get back in good standing. A new over his head AD allowed unauthorized access to County Fields for multiple sports, and also major trouble with the local high school officiating associations for not paying bills in a timely fashion. Again The administration at the top acted in inappropriately in many situations out of school time which many felt was conduct on becoming of an administrator, but this person seemed to have 9 lives like a cat, but KARMA well it caught up to this individual for they where fired, and escorted out of the building. Also let's not let the true problem is the Head office in Miami was aware many times of this administrators, lack of control and did nothing. Until another entity that was in a working relationship with the charter school, had to step in and take care of the problem.
