ALTHOUGH, last time I went in there I was sorely disappointed and the meat department. I don't know if it was incompetence or laziness.....I asked to have a 5lbs bottom round sliced at 1/4 inch for jerky. The guy asked if he could do that to another employee and I explained (I shouldn't have to) that I've had it done before. This is the butcher area of the meat department......a lady walked up and tells me it will take forever to get done . I said "to slice a 5lbs bottom round?" She said "ya, you usually need to call in a day before to have something like this done so we have time." Absolutely mind blown . It's take 3-4 minutes tops to slice one. Mind you, this is after I explained I've had it done multiple times. I just laughed and left. I didn't even trust them to slice it at this point. She told me it would take approximately 1 hour to accomplish lol. I left and had it down somewhere else in under 10 minutes. While this place is usually just OKAY, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth after this interaction. Obviously I'll still go back for some things, but I'll be avoiding this meat department. I would rather pay a little more somewhere else than deal with that type of service again.

Your name is called and back up to the area were the sandwiches are made to pay. I didn't see anywhere on the check off sheet that you could get a warm or toasted sandwich. Last Saturday evening, my husband and I ordered dinner here (to go). Unfortunately, while eating his pasta, my husband bit into a sharp piece of metal that pierced his gum. The object was rusty and had signs of having been cooked along with the food. It was sharp. Given the time of night and the restaurant's 10 PM closing time, we weren't able to call immediately. I contacted the restaurant first thing the next morning, not to complain or demand compensation, but to notify them of a serious contamination issue that may lead to a medical emergency. I called first thing Sunday. The girl on the phone listened to what happened and put me on hold to speak with her manager. I was told the manager was too busy to speak with me. The response was nonchalant. The staff member I spoke with apologized, but there was no urgency or concern about investigating how this happened or ensuring other diners weren't affected. She didn't even ask which dish it was until I offered the information myself. I was told that the owner would be in touch. That call never came. I am not confident they even checked their kitchen. I understand that accidents happen. The way a restaurant handles those accidents speaks volumes about its integrity and professionalism. Unfortunately, there was a complete lack of accountability or follow-up. I waited a couple of days to see if anyone would reach out. No one has. I no longer feel safe dining at Pasta House Farmington, which is disappointing given how much I've enjoyed this location over the years; however, if this is how serious food safety issues are handled, other patrons deserve to be aware. UPDATE: I added two stars to this review because the owner contacted me today. I appreciate that she was professional, thorough, and took the situation seriously. She expressed genuine concern, assured me that she would investigate the issue fully, and emphasized her commitment to ensuring this does not happen again. I went back a third time and had pancakes...pretty good for the area , Tbf probably the best in the area. Most other places seem to phone in pancakes either half cooked or microwaved. Service was decent , I was new and didn't know you're supposed to get your own beverage. Gonna go back and see how they do with omelettes. If you're in the area I would recommend a visit. Good food and friendly environment. Prices are very reasonable.
