Steve Holley - State Farm Insurance Agent

I have been insured with State Farm under Craig Williams's Office since 2004. In July 2015 I switch my auto insurance over to Steve Holley's office mainly because his Office Manager stated that they needed my car and home under the same agent to obtain and keep my discounted homeowners insurance. In September, I received a cancellation notice for 1 claim in 2013 and 2 claims in 2015. The 2015 claim was due to my vehicle breaking down having it towed then finding out the company it was towed to was unable to determine what was wrong with it to repair it. Thus it was towed again within a week. I immediately contacted Mr. Holley's office to file an appeal. I asked to speak with him on several occasions. He is never available and never bothers with returning calls. Nevertheless, my appeal was filed by the office manager earlier this week. When I checked the mailbox today (Friday), I was surprised to see a refund check which stated it was a result of closing my payment plan account. This is just the short version of a nightmare.

Finally, I discovered Yelp!…read more So folks, here you have it.. be very, VERY weary of this agency! As a matter of fact if you ever call and a lady by the name of Tara answers, hang up immediately! She will mess up/"misunderstand"/get everything you're trying to accomplish WRONG. Not to mention she will take weeks (seriously 4-5 weeks) to get back to you. If you must and you insist on using Allstate in Mobile, AL, call Travis Everette. They're agency and office staff is only a million times more competent than this one. Before my husband and I finally had enough with Allstate, we started calling Travis if there was something we needed. So why are they horrible? Well.. First, I should say we used State Farm for our car insurance for 11 years. We paid monthly. Not yearly or every 6 months. Once a month, we received a bill in the mail and we paid it. Simple enough. We bought a house and needed to purchase homeowners insurance and weren't satisfied with State Farms quote. Allstate, on the other hand, came in significantly cheaper. Well, we moved both vehicles to Allstate and purchased the homeowners insurance as well, all to save ourselves a little money. Well, friends, the saying holds true. You get what you pay for! Switching was the single worst decision we have made as a married couple. As of a week ago we're officially no longer with Allstate. For the two years we were I never got a monthly bill in the mail. Initially I was told if I had my checking account (or just gave them my debit card #) they would automatically debit it once a month. I was VERY vocal and VERY adamant that I did NOT want that to happen. Instead I wanted to be billed and I'd pay accordingly. I was told that wasn't a problem. Well, apparently I messed up by using my debit card with them initially because they took it upon themselves to (without my consent and strongly against my wishes) automatically deduct my payment from my account anyways. Luckily, before it cleared, I got a letter from Allstate confirming this automatic payment with my account info. I immediately called and questioned why this was happening because I thought I was crystal clear I did not want that. Tara apologized and tells me "she remembers me because I was the one who wanted a bill in the mail." She then assures me she fixed it and my account will not be touched. I get a letter in the mail a couple days later confirming this. Cool. Problem solved. I thought. A week goes by, I get ANOTHER letter from Allstate confirming my monthly automatic payment from my checking account! What the hell! I called immediately and spoke to Tara, AGAIN, saying "ya know I thought we fixed this." She (again) assured me she fixed it. Since I don't/didn't believe a word out of her mouth I cancelled that debit card (the info they had) & got a new one..SOLELY because of Tara at Allstate. I didn't trust I wouldn't have a random charge. Ridiculous. Months go by. Our policy is up for renewal. Car insurance goes up to $2111.97 for 6 months for 2 vehicles. Fine, it's extremely expensive & I'm pretty sure you're raping us but we'll pay it. Unfortunately, due to a wreck I couldn't just switch back to State Farm. I tried. Again, I want to pay monthly. I send Allstate $352.00 on the 24th of April. My bill isn't due until May 11. I'm paying a couple weeks EARLY. Well, before May 11, I receive not one, but two more different bills! All 3 bills have 3 different 6 month premiums (making the monthly bills different) YET all 3 bills have SAME name, address, policy number and vehicles. What's going on? Which one is correct? I paid early, did I over pay? If so, take that off the next months bill. Well, I call and speak to guess who!!! Tara! She can't answer my questions. She tells me she "thinks" the right bill is the most expensive one but she wants to check it over and she'll call me back when she figures out what's going on. Ladies and gentleman that was 5 weeks ago and I still haven't heard from them. I had my husband call when it had only been 3 weeks I was waiting. He speaks to (wait for it) Tara!! She listens then asks him what we pay monthly. Seriously!! Lady, we don't know that's why we're calling. We have 3 contradicting bills! She tells my husband that she doesn't know who I spoke to but "surely we would call her back before 3 weeks" almost as if he was lying about it. Although, every time I spoke to her she claimed to "remember me." Well, she told my husband she believed the correct bill was the CHEAPER bill but that she would look it over and call him back. Ladies and gentleman guess what!!?? We, to this day, have not heard from them. FYI, every time we call we ask for our actual agent, Dan Cottrell Jr. Conveniently he's NEVER in the office. Bottom line, we left Allstate. To this day no one has contacted us. I don't even know if they know we left. I changed my homeowners (luckily I dealt with my mortgage co & not them) our cars AND we purchased renters with Farmers & saved $870!

Dan was a great agent never had any problems at all! Until today.... I called and got someone named…read moreCara and as she is helping me and asking what all I needed I tell her I'm going through a divorce and I need to take my name and car off the account. She says hold on after I answered one of her questions she needed to look into something.... she hangs up on me and calls my ex and tells him things from our conversation. If you needed consent that is fine just tell me like the 2nd lady did when I called I don't mind that at all. But to call and tell him things I said is not how you treat someone paying your business! Then I called to speak with supervisor and Dan gets on the phone he does apologize but you can tell he doesn't care just kept says ok again what do you need! I'm very disappointed with how I was treated by this company today and I'm glad to have my insurance business elsewhere!
