My wife found this place online and I'm glad she did we pick up bunch of bottles. Their products are very very nice and smell amazing you are guaranteed to find something you like! I first discovered this fragrance called Vaniglia del Madagascar at Barney's in Los Angeles and…read morebought it immediately. Four bottles and about a million inquiries from strangers as to the fragrance later, I went onto the Barney's website to order again and saw that it wasn't carried any longer. I then called their corporate office and asked where their Vaniglia from Firenze went and they had no answers (noticed they carry again, so I guess they got their shipping or whatever figured out). I started googling and found that the alchemist and his shop are located in the middle of Florence and it just so happened that I was going to Italy, and I added Florence to the list of train stops. I spent a morning searching the winding Florence streets for this shop which was well worth it. While I was initially disappointed because I did have visions of crushed flower petals, and powders and smoking glassware with distillation kits filling a smoky backroom. I was still very happy to find my favorite fragrance and that pretty handwritten label on about a hundred different fragrances and oils. I basically told my boyfriend to find something to do for the next hour, because I was going to need some time. While I was there buying everything that I could find in Vaniglia (much less expensive than Barney's) the alchemist came out and I told him how much I like his fragrance and how everyone asks me about it and that he does the chemistry I would love to be doing. He didn't speak a lot of English with me but he understood me and definitely understood that I love his product because he wrapped up a beautiful bottle of a new fragrance and tucked it in my bag as a gift. That one is amazing too. I may not live here, but I can guarantee I'll be back.

We were to do a televisit with the tests but due to the heat and humidity, the seals were no longer sticking rendering the kits invalid. We arrived from Rome in Florence two days before the cruise. So helpful! I had…read moretwisted my ankle while traveling the day before and was in terrible pain. I couldn't take much more, so I limped over to this Farmacia for help. Mostly through non-verbal communication, I explained what I needed to the clerk, who had me sit on a short stool in a semi-private area. He came over with a compressive support brace for my ankle and let me try it on. It fit perfectly and really helped with the pain, so I wore it out of the pharmacy. I believe it was 14 euro. I can't comment on whether or not that's a good price for the product, but I can tell you that I wore that thing for the rest of my trip. Money well-spent, for sure. Thanks, Farmacia Brizio-Mazzei!

1 star -- Absolutely terrible experience. DO NOT GO THERE…read more Our experience at Mustermann was absolutely awful from the moment we walked through the door. The elderly female employee and a man with light-colored eyes were incredibly arrogant, rude, hostile, and disrespectful. We were treated as if we were bothering them simply by being there. My daughter merely touched a piece of paper with information about the perfumes and the elderly employee shouted at her. There was absolutely no reason for such an aggressive reaction toward a child. Things became even worse when we were about to pay for a perfume. The elderly employee held the card machine through the glass so my husband could tap his card. The contactless payment did not work, so he picked up the machine to insert his card and enter his PIN privately -- something completely normal and routine for customers in France and throughout Europe. The woman suddenly became extremely aggressive and started shouting at him, demanding that he immediately return the machine and using very harsh, disrespectful language. The man with the light-colored eyes was also part of this hostile and unpleasant atmosphere. There was absolutely no justification for screaming at a customer who was literally trying to PAY for a purchase. At that moment, I refused to buy the perfume. Why would anyone spend money in a place where customers are treated with such arrogance and aggression? We spend our summer holidays in Florence every year. We collect perfumes and have a genuine passion for fine perfumery. We have visited many wonderful, historic perfume houses in Florence and have always appreciated the products, the atmosphere, and the professionalism of the people working there. Mustermann was the complete opposite. I strongly recommend reading the Google reviews before going there. You will see that our experience is far from unique. There are numerous comments describing rude, arrogant, unpleasant, and hostile treatment. It is shocking that a business working with tourists and customers can maintain this kind of attitude. It genuinely felt as though customers were being treated like pieces of trash, rather than welcomed into a historic perfumery. Children are clearly not welcome. Tourists are clearly not welcome. And basic courtesy and respect seem to be optional. The atmosphere was terrible, the energy of the place was extremely unpleasant, and the behavior of these employees was completely unacceptable. Florence has so many beautiful and historic perfumeries where you can have a wonderful experience and be treated with kindness and respect. DO NOT GO TO MUSTERMANN. Read the reviews (GOOGLE) first and save yourself the unpleasant experience. We certainly will never return.
