I was looking for a drug that costs $525 in the USA and most Mexican pharmacies don't carry it because they said it was too expensive for the nationals. La Farmacia La Mas Barata does and had it at 3 pharmacies I went to. The cost was $124 USD each. This was a drug by Pfizer. Exact same thing, it's not generic yet. Rescue inhalers are $42 EACH for generic Ventolin in the States, $16 of a pack of 3 in Mexico. Can you say we're getting ripped off in the USA by the drug companies? Every one of the staff I encountered was very helpful, the stores are spotless, and I trust them. I wanted 3 of the expensive drug to last me for 3 months, but they only had 2. The clerk looked in his computer and told me he would run to the one up the street and fetch the other one. Now that's service and he was back within 5 minutes. Plus as an added bonus, I asked if that was the best price (I was originally quoted $137) and he said he could give me a discount which brought it down to $124. So don't hesitate to ask. I would also recommend if you don't speak Spanish, you stick with the pharmacies on Revolution since one of them on Constitution had non-English speaking staff. They are great pharmacies and the prices are on par or lower than the competition.

Alrighty, this review is for all you tourists out there…read more Imagine you're in town, and suddenly get sick, or are in need of prescription meds, or are just in need of medical attention and don't have a lot of cash on you. Alls you needs is to find one of these pharmacies. The beauty of these pharmacies is that they are all over town, and they all have a legit doctor in the back, ready to take you in and check you out. No insurance? No problem! The basic medical consultation costs 45 pesos, which is roughly 3dlls. I only went there for a sore throat, so I was in and out in under 30 mins. To make things better, all of the meds they sell are generics, which obviously means that they'll be cheaper than commercial brands. I was prescribed cough syrup, antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds. My entire bill, including the medical consultation, was 180 pesos (13 dlls) Not bad, eh? I went there this morning, and I'm already feeling a lot better.
