He was in pain and suffering And did not care that he was suffering, It was a condition that we had taken him in before but was not diagnosed and now it is to late. We had been treating 6 animals there over the years but that did not matter. The good vet we liked left for maternity leave and has not come back

Dr. Weiner was the one who helped keep our 12-year-old husky alive until she was 15 when Shrwsbry VCA told us she wouldn't live past 12. Tasha was afraid of men but stayed by Dr. Weiner side whenever he was in his office working in fact she spent her last days sleeping by his side. We boarded her there on all of our trips because she needed special attention in her older age. Even our ferrel cat Sadie loved them; and most other vets had to wear the hawk glove to get near her. She lived to be 18, unheard of for a ferrel cat. The staff is caring and compassionate and even offers alternative methods and accepts the vegan diet for our Rescue Rusty. They put our needs above the dollars. Shrewsbury charged me nearly $1,000 for X-rays of Tasha when I told them it was an injury from her retractable leash wrapping around her knee. Instead they took full body X-rays, said it was arthritis; at 12, what dog doesn't show signs of aging? Thats when Tasha fell in love w Dr Weiner. No muzzle just calm and concern.

I'm of course bringing my new baby, Bilbo the Shetland Sheepdog, when he arrives! (He's only 7 weeks old now!) I also highly recommend Eric's Pet Conceirge Puppy Transport Company, Puppy's Breath Transport; his drivers pick the puppy up at the breeder, and drive the pooch to his new home! (413) 306-9953.

SAVE YOURSELF AND PETS. They failed to put our pet to sleep…read more We brought our dog here to be put to sleep and they failed. We ended up leaving with our dog. Of course it's one of the most difficult days a pet owner will have, this hospital made it worse and botched the procedure causing us to leave with our dog after dealing with the pain of saying goodbye. First they messed up our appointment and told us it was a week away. Instead of owning the mistake the receptionist told us it was our mistake and therefore, problem. It didn't matter that my family and I walked in with crying. We asked the receptionist if the doctor could squeeze us in or if she can call the next appointment to see if they can swap at a later time. The receptionist said no. After asking again if she could ask the vet to squeeze us in the receptionist said she'll ask but the vet won't say yes. After sometime the vet did make the accommodation to take us. After entering the room they took our dog back to start the process. Something went wrong with the needle/catheter causing massive discomfort for our dog and for her to bleed onto us while we held her waiting for the vet to come with the IV to start the process of euthanizing. After getting the catheter back in something caused them to not be able to get the IV in. I believe it was because our dog wouldn't stay still. Previous to the catheter our dog laid quietly and still in our arms for 1.5 hours. The movement from our dog likely was because of the needle/catheter that didn't take right that cause her to bleed. After sometime they gave our very small dog a sedative to help calm her down, that didn't work for far too long. This all lasted, what felt like, 30 minutes. Our dog started yelping once the catheter was in. We finally said enough is enough and left with our dog. Who knows what would've happened next. The technicalities of what went wrong and why are confusing to me. I'm not a doctor and this was already a horrible day. All that I know is this place created one of the worst days in my entire families life. Now, we have to bring ourselves to repeat the process of putting our dog to sleep.

    4 Paws Animal Hospital

We've been going to 4 Paws for many years - and first I would like to say how nice this new…read morelocation is! Beautiful. Our dog HEMI recently required surgery for excessive bladder stones. Without going into all the details (which would be a small novel) I want to say that the ENTIRE staff at 4 Paws went above and beyond! Dr. Turks (surgeon) clearly explained everything. Unfortunately while HEMI was on the operating table - our fears were confirmed. We decided to try a specialist (hospital) to see if they could clear his urethra. There was no "ego" here; no feeling of "losing money" by bringing HEMI elsewhere - what we felt was one team looking to do the best for our dog. Period. Dr. Turks talked with the other hospital - on his day off - so they understood HEMIs condition. Dr. Toll (HEMIS vet at 4 paws) called us on HER time to see how we were doing and to ask if we had questions...... and Michelle (tech) called often to check on HEMI so she could update everyone at 4 paws. Truly they care about my dog. All animals. It's more than a "job" and it shows. HEMI is thankfully recovering nicely. The specialist was able to remove the stones from his urethra completely and safely. None of this would have been possible without the help of Dr. Turk and the compassion of Michelle & Dr. Toll. HEMI has an Instagram friend (a Cane Corso) who's ACL needed repair. This friend had the same vet for a long time (Texas) but guess what? They did the wrong surgery on this dog. When it failed - they did it again!! Why? Because they didn't know how to do the correct surgery needed and Instead of saying that - and instead of somebody else making money - this poor dog suffered!!! Why am I telling this story? Because it happens! It's awful. It sucks. But it happens. I can tell you first hand - from experience - it WONT happen if yOu go to 4 Paws! My experience has always been that they care about your pet. Before anything else.... your pets health is their doesn't concern -

They have attended to multiple of our pets, never correctly diagnosing issues, causing unnecessary medication that causes more harm. Don't question them because they know all. Then when your pet becomes sick, well it's now the issue that they were originally addressing is no longer the issue and it becomes "age." No accountability or professionalism at this place. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS ( aka family members) here. Your pet is just a paycheck.
