The seating are barstools, so it's like a moving bar on the water. And it has a very necessary amenity - there is a marine toilet! We went out for a 4 hour trip at 12:30pm, saw some dolphins, went searching for manatees, cruised into St. John's Pass and the Gulf, stopped at a sandbar, and had a dance party. Really fun times! You bring your own food and drinks, and they have a cooler for you to keep stuff cold. Note that there is a place at the Bay Pines Marina where you can get food to bring onboard. We grabbed some fries and onion rings and they were good. This is a perfect way to spend part of the day whether you live in FL and don't yet own a boat (us) or your visiting FL and want to enjoy some time on the water (our friends). Can't wait to do it again the next time we have visitors in town or just want to get on the water.

The boat was also new to us, a smaller yet seemingly more spacious affair that the slower and smellier diesel powered LUHR. It could use 2 250s instead of the dual 175s but not my boat and not my money. It did the job handily. The knowledgeable WKT crew had many suggestions and found spaces where we could enjoy the waters and sea creatures away from the crowds. The activities: We got to see the fort ruins, saw wildlife in the seagrass, and hung out in the sandbars where we found sand dollars and shells with every step. The ride: The World Cat was impressively stable on choppy water and operated smoothly. There is a sink and head to make those long outings comfortable. There is plenty of seating. A few people may be able to recline in the bow under a retractable bimini cover. The size of the boat made it possible for us to get into shallow areas and anchor wherever we wanted. If you're visiting the area or are a local looking for a private boat with a captain to give your small group a wonderful, custom tour, Wayward is the way to go!

I think the best way to review the Pirate Adventures of Cortez is to compare it to Captain Memo's…read morepirate cruise in Clearwater Beach. Captain Memo's is on a much bigger ship, and though my kids had fun on it, I would call it "manic fun". There were an insane amount of people on board and all the kids were running and screaming everywhere (my daughter ended up getting elbowed in the eye), and we felt like we were dying of heat stroke because the ship has very poor ventilation and not enough shady seats. For the Pirate Cruise of Cortez, we absolutely LOVED it!! It was 1000% worth the hour drive from Clearwater. It's a decent sized boat with just the right number of people on board and shady seats with great breezes to keep us cool. It was extremely engaging and they had a very fun itinerary. My kids were wildly entertained and they did a great job keeping the kids' attention and keeping things under control. The staff put on an awesome show full of magic and wonder and did a fantastic job engaging with the kids. I could've sat back and watched the whole time from a comfortable and breezy bench in the shade, but it was so much fun that I found myself getting involved and having a great time. We went first thing in the morning and the weather was perfect. I can't recommend this place enough!! ‍
