Maybe it's because I'm older now, but I find the whole experience much more exhausting than I remember. It's incredibly hot, and it feels like everything has been engineered around getting you to spend money. Want to sit down somewhere? It seems like you need to be eating, drinking, shopping, or otherwise spending money to have access to a comfortable place to sit. Sometimes I just want to sit for a few minutes, enjoy the scenery, people-watch, and take a break without having to buy something. I don't care what age you are. Sometimes you just need somewhere to sit. The food was decent, but honestly, I can find good food in plenty of other places without having to navigate the whole parking situation, walk through security, and then spend money every time I turn around. The constant retail focus and pressure to spend money just doesn't create a particularly relaxed environment for me anymore. What's funny is that I remember coming here when I was 27 and being completely blown away by it. Back then, I thought Downtown Disney was incredible. I even spent a few nights going to the clubs, and those nights were absolutely epic and fun. I have some great memories from that time. But today, the experience feels different to me. Everything seems so carefully designed to extract another dollar from you that it starts to feel almost mercenary. There's nothing wrong with a business wanting to make money, but when the commercial aspect becomes so noticeable that it affects your ability to simply relax and enjoy being there, it changes the experience. I think I've reached a point where I'd rather spend my time somewhere with a lower-stress atmosphere. I want to go somewhere, walk around, enjoy the scenery, sit down when I feel like it, and have a good time without constantly feeling like every basic comfort comes with a price tag. Maybe it's me getting older. Maybe it's Disney Springs changing. Maybe it's both. But these days, I'd rather spend my money somewhere that makes me feel like a guest instead of a walking wallet.

Then we noticed a 1¢ charge, we asked what that was & he said it's for the shirt... the free shirt advertised outside, at the door & when you check out. It's not about the penny, it's about the principle. If you think it's ok to lie to your customers about something so "small", then what else are they lying about? Idk, I walked out feeling very upset and unsettled by this place.

Who knew that an entertainment district themed after turn-of-the-century Mid-Atlantic boardwalks (e.g., Coney Island, NY and Atlantic City, NJ) would have so much appeal? Well for us, it did. It's really charming and intimate, especially when compared to other parts of Disney World, like the relatively gargantuan Disney Springs. So, along with the fun and unique "seaside" period atmosphere, its size and the fact that this part of Disney isn't crowded had a lot to do with our enjoyment of Disney's BoardWalk. There's a black-and-white photo inside the BoardWalk Inn of the Three Stooges during an appearance at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City in 1938. To me, that photo encapsulates the time period and atmosphere that I think Disney aspired to recreate at the BoardWalk, and I think Disney was successful, for the most part. Aside from the Inn (and the Innkeeper's Club), highlights here include the Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, Screen Door General Store (for exclusive BoardWalk merch), and Atlantic Dance Hall (cool they have this art-deco music venue here). My wife and I would like to return and have dinner at restaurants Flying Fish (seafood) and Trattoria al Forno (Italian).

This is basically a mini-mall from makers you would not find within any of the parks. Bags, purses, backpacks, toys, clothing that are still Disney but elevated and slightly less obvious. All of the staff here is very friendly and informative and look for the price to match the exclusivity of what you'll find. but visiting the Co-Op should be part of your shopping plans, we've if it's just to look or create a wish list.

For Xmas in July it was minimal but they did have some vendor tables. There's some shops here, a bakery, a few restaurants, and cafe. Some restaurants include Columbia. Driving through Celebration for Xmas lights is a must!
