    Bohemian circus theme
    Donna B.

A fund raising event that revolves around chocolate- so why not go...... Each year the theme changes but it stays as a formal event. That can be a bit of a challenge for dressing. This year was bohemian circus. There were some fabulous and elaborate costumes- bearded ladies, lions, ring masters and snake charmers. $75 for general admission at 7:30. $150 got you a VIP table and in at 5:30 to leisurely enjoy the vendors with a less crowded floor. It also can with a nice dinner to balance a mostly sweet chocolate night and endless bottles of wine. We started the evening in the corner with one of my favorite spots, the Jungle and it's delicious chocolate martini made with Tahoe Blue vodka. I admit I had several of these little guys. Icecycle and Winey Munkies both brought delicious alcohol chocolate ice cream concoctions. Tons of sweet chocolate bites. A few savory nibbles- I enjoyed them the most. I love my dark chocolate, for me it's the richness not the sweet. There were many spots to get a glass of wine or other chocolate based mixed drinks from 1864 and the Depot. I lost count of the number of restaurants, bars, caterers, and other vendors that set up great booths to show off their creations. I enjoyed the theme and the GSR really did a fantastic job of turning the huge ballroom into a giant big top tent complete with acrobatic performers and stilt walkers. In one corner there was a wonderful photo booth set up with a green screen to choose a circus themed background and have it printed instantly for you. A decent dance space, with a dj after the general crowd came in. VIP had a great live band play for our two early hours. I recommend trying this elaborate event at least once and remember it's for charity.

Atmosphere - A cool night with a little rain which did not damper any ones spirits. I loved how they had covered areas with picnic tables and high top tables to rest, eat, or just get out of the heat, if there was any heat. Food Drinks - I think every brewery came from the area including Tonopah Brewing and The Brewing Lair. I love trying new beers and everyone brought stuff which I had not had before. The twist on the event today was most had two brews listed and soon as one of those beer were gone a new beer was added. So when you went around the second and third times around there were new beers to try. Dinner - With ticket purchase you get a coupon for a food truck, I picked Brothers. That sandwich was out before I could blink. It was so good, packed with meat. One of the things I have learned at these beer events is to eat during it so you are not overwhelmed by the alcohol. I even bring my own pretzels to snack on. Service - To me this event is about beer but more important interacting with the brewers. They all show the pride of their craft. Lots of the brewers were actually hopping around and work other booths to interact with each other. It is a small community and it is great to see them all work together so nicely. Future - Yes.

I was kicking myself and so mad that I had not taken to tiem to come and see this awesome event in the 3 years prior! Yes, its an early wake up but man-oh-man what an awesome sight to see 75-100 hot air balloons glowing at 5:30 am in the dark morning sky. I was so enamored with this, I joined the crew for one of the balloons and now i get to come every year and help set up and launch/recover the balloon. Seeing this first hand and being up close is so fun. 2026 was a little dicey as we struggled with some wind in the forecast. The entire week showed that Saturday was looking pretty grim for flying but Sunday would be beautiful. Well, as a surprise to all, we lucked out on Saturday as the winds were within the range for safe flying. However, Sunday came and so did the winds. At 3:30 am winds were out of the west at 17mph way to fast for the max of 7 mph to fly. In fact they could not even inflate for morning glow. It was fun either way and as a Navy Veteran, I was asked to hold the flag for the singing of the National Anthem. What an honor.

The event is well organized, family friendly, and has a great community atmosphere. My biggest tip is to arrive early, dress in layers, and bring a chair or blanket. It gets chilly before the sun comes up, but it's absolutely worth it. Whether you're a local or visiting Reno, this is one of those events that reminds you how special our community is. I'll definitely be back.

We both just finished a tattoo session and were absolutely starving by the end of it. So we quickly went home and got changed to make our 5:30 reservations. I knew this was a newer restaurant and even though it was just us two I didn't want to take the chance of not getting a table. There is a very a very parking lot for the restaurant but that was full by the time we showed up so we had to street park around the block. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. The decor, lighting, tables, everything. We were immediately shown to our table which was a booth that was tucked in and felt like we had our own space which was very romantic and perfect for our occasion. The menu was explained to us and we told that we could in a way customize any dish to our liking which was really cool and we got the lowdown on the specials as well. I started with a glass of Pinot Noir and we went straight for appetizers of the garlic bread, mussels and fried ravioli. The garlic bread was soft with a slight crunch of the crust and very generous with the garlic. I didn't taste the ravioli itself but it came with 3 different sauces that I did try and really enjoyed. The marinara was sweet to my surprise and so delicious. The mussels were my favorite. Perfectly steamed and just swimming in this rich and robust slightly spicy broth. For entrees my husband ordered the chicken parm and instead of the marina and rigatoni it came with my husband swapped for the gnocchi in creamy pesto (for an additional charge) I asked what was better between the halibut and scallops and was advised to go with the scallops as they would be leaving the menu soon. Great recommendations, I completely devoured my plate. The presentation was stunning and the flavors were phenomenal. Service was 12/10, food was 15/10 and we will 1000% be returning.

Walking in you're immediately transformed to the dining era of yesteryear. Warm woods adorn the walls, an iconic and historic bar welcomes, friendly suited up servers smile and greet you, and that's all before your host seats you! Reservations are almost a must, but don't hesitate to call and see because they will always try to get you in! We did just that and got seated in the large private dining room and started with an app special of fried artichoke hearts, lightly breaded in a gluten free flour, a great idea so more could enjoy it! For dinner I had the veal piccata with a lovely linguine with garlic and oil. I loved every bite and mopped the plate. The mussels were delicious. The artichoke salmon excellent. Honestly all of it was spectacular. I'll def be back.

I did not feel safe and there was too much crime. That's the reason for the hefty security presence. I would have left before my lease expiration, but per the lease, that would have cost nearly $10k+concessions (extra $2450). If you do choose to live at RED, I would recommend Emory, as Atwood has too many challenges. Plus you can make friends with someone at Atwood to use the rooftop. Besides the pool area, all amenities at Emory are accessible without being exposed to the elements. Positives: - Currently, you won't find anything else in Reno close to the stunning rooftop and gym. - Located a short Uber ride from the airport and midtown. - They host many free events (wine tasting, food, etc.) - Gas appliances and attractive design. - Secure package delivery. - Edgar and Anthony are awesome and keep that place going! Negatives: - I experienced inconsistent communication with office personnel on many occasions and there is a lack of follow through. - NUMEROUS VEHICLE BURGLARIES in the parking garage! May the odds be ever in your favor. - The glass elevator is not cooled or heated. Yes, it gets well over 120 degrees and the elevators seem to frequently down for issues. - The pet spa is located on the ground level of the parking garage. It's not ideal to wash your pet then immediately expose them to sub-freezing temps in the winter. (Emory's is within the climate controlled building) - The pool is ONLY heated in the warm months! They do not heat it in the colder months. Why even have a heated pool? - When they communicate an amenity is down, they always say "until further notice"... but the further notice never comes so you must constantly check with them. - Be aware of the different unit variations. Most units do not offer water in the refrigerator, a convection oven, or keypad door locks. - Good luck with the heating, a/c and fire alarm popping in 613. Hopefully, it's properly corrected by now. Maybe I should have lowered my expectations for Reno's premiere, luxury property ‍... or maybe they should live up to what they aspire to be and preach.

I really wanted to love this place after reading some great reviews!…read more However, we felt it was overrated and disappointing. First, we showed up on a Friday evening around 7pm, and was told there was a 25 min wait. We said no problem and went for a little walk. We even walked all the way to another restaurant called The Shore to see the menu and then decided to try the pizza place. It is a huge restaurant with an inside bar and outdoor patio with lots of seating. The outside looks amazing, but the inside was cramped and super stuffy and hot. We tried to order some drinks inside but the bartender was super busy and then a server came up and basically told us to wait until we got seated before ordering drinks. After another 10-15 min, we finally got seated. I looked around, and there were a lot of people sitting and waiting for food at tables. The waitress was nice, and we ordered our food right away. After waiting an extraordinarily long time with no food or service, we waved the waitress over and she went to check on our order. Came back and said it would be 10 more minutes. Can she offer us some nuts and olives? We were starving so we ate all that was given to us. Finally, our food came out! We only ordered marinara pasta with chicken&mushrooms (since the meatballs were already gone) and one Cherrypicker pizza. The homemade pasta tasted good, but chicken and mushroom was skimpy. Then the pizza had great crust, but the middle was soggy and wet probably from the cherry tomatoes. It took us about 2 hours to get fed that night. I think many other people had the same level of service that night. The place has potential, but I think they need more staff.
