It…read moreis in great shape and is a collaborative effort between Jenny Roesel Ustick and Kiik Create who painted the piece in 2018. It is 60 feet wide and 15 feet wide. This was actually part of an exhibit of the two's work that went by the same name as the mural. I like the color used in the mural it is like high-def, a color explosion. I am normally not an abstract art kind of guy, but this one works for me. Construction in the area has really limited metered street parking to get a closer look of this mural. There is still some in a reasonable waking distance. I parked about a quarter mile away. There are also commercial garages and lots you can park in, but they are pretty pricy. You could easily pull into the alley that the mural is located, get out and take a closer look Anyway, as with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a very long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. You may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other murals in the area or making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip. I just did a mural tour. It had an 1800's charm to it that made it feel like I was visiting a historical site rather than a leaving, breathing, working town. According to their website, people started settling there as early as 1790 and Ohio's oldest weekly newspaper, the Western Star was started there. The oldest hotel in Ohio opened in 1803, The Golden Lamb, is also located there and had been visited by 12 presidents. Two movies (Harper Valley and Milk Money) were filmed here! Actor Woody Harrelson also grew up here! For a small town, they had quite a bit going on for a Sunday. Shops were open and restaurants were busy. People were definitely friendly and my dad remarked at how clean the town was! We didn't see a drop of litter. We're already planning a trip back in the fall to take part in some pumpkin picking and dinner at the Golden Lamb.

Joe Morgan is a hall of famer who played on what many consider the greatest baseball dynasty ever of the big red machine in the mid 1970's Very deserving honor of a statue as joe Morgan is arguably one of the hearts second baseman to ever play the game. He 10 time all star, 5 time gold glove winner and won 2 mvps and World Series a piece. Overall cool honor for a man with a laundry list of superlatives. Awesome to see the reds honor so many players with statues from that golden area of the franchise.

We got cool bandanas and a complimentary drink ticket. I got the 5 Star Stout (Tropical brewed with coffee). Awesome stuff. City Barbeque provided the delicious meal. We were given a tote bag with instructions on making a simple rub recipe, coupon and faqs about their business. I LOVED creating my own Rub! So much fun. My friend Brandy and I did not waste any time and headed to the Buffet line and got our meal. There was green beans (with bacon), Macaroni and Cheese (you can choose the toppings), Brisket (so tender and juicy, the best!!! YUM!!) and for desert- the peach cobbler. The long tables felt like we were outdoors on a picnic. Sweet!! After dinner, we were given a tour by Braxton Brewing Co. Very informative and interesting. It was short and to the point. They brew their beer at this location which is small, yet spacious. I've never been to Braxton Brewing and will definitely return. I love the décor and the long couch to chill out. My second drink is the Storm Golden Cream Ale (smooth and crisp). At the end of the night we had some pictures taken by WINKINGMANPHOTO.COM (Cool Props and backdrop provided). Predominantly a family run business, it is clear that they want to set themselves apart from the rest of the craft beer pack. We learned on our tour that one of the sons in the family started out brewing beers at home when he wasn't even old enough to buy a beer. At 18, he already had an award-winning concoction!! This place is so high-tech that in order to vie for some of the gift cards, you could tweet and see it almost instantaneously right there!! The facility itself was modern, spacious and clean. Co-hosting this amazing Yelp event was City Barbecue! They started off with a bang by letting us all go through their make-your-own-spice-rub bar to bring home some of the resulting deliciousness. Not only were the scents of their spices enticing, but the colors were as well. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to make use of it tomorrow!! Their brisket was mouthwatering and who could resist their mac n' cheese with extra fixings to top it with - think bacon and extra cheeses! After filling our tummies, we were sent home with their simple rub recipe, along with a small container of the one we had made with their ingredients. I found this to be a novel and fun idea!! Then as if that wasn't enough, they gave us a coupon for two free sides when we purchase the smoked meat from them. Here is a company trying to "rub' us the right way. Stopped by the Statue of James A. Garfield while walking through Piatt Park and was really…read moreimpressed. The statue is beautifully detailed and sits in a peaceful spot that makes it easy to stop and appreciate a little history. It's a great landmark in downtown Cincinnati and definitely worth checking out if you're exploring the area. A nice place to take a quick break, snap a few photos, and enjoy the park.

This statue of President James A. Garfield (20th POTUS, March to September 1881) stands in…read moreCincinnati's Piatt Park. An Ohio native, he served as a general in the Civil War and then nine terms in the US House of Representatives. He was the only sitting member of the House to be elected President. Garfield opposed the Confederate secession and was a major general in the Union Army, fighting in the battles of Middle Creek, Shiloh and Chickamauga. After taking office in March, he was shot in July 1881 but actually died two months later of the infection caused by the doctor's poor sanitation methods. I won't mention the assassinator's name. The oversize bronze statue shows Garfield wearing a knee length coat. He stands with his right foot forward and a stack of papers in his right hand with his left hand extended but palm down. That's enough suckiness, because like who am I even going to talk to, but I'm inheriting her hard work. Like I'm not even that smart. Well, but whatever. Then my brother sprained his ankle. I tried to help out a lot and it's just kind of tiring. Then, when he started feeling better, my husband was mugged in San Francisco! Like why would someone just go up to another person and punch them in the face? Because they want their wallet. Which is how I ended up here, looking at this mural again. I'd say it's worth going through security to look at the mural, even though I said before that it's not. These security people were nice, at least the security lady is. Since I had to go to the federal building last week, I made it a point to really look at this. It's very cool. Like I took a million pictures. I looked at the fat mallard for a long time. Also, I liked the grey, spikey owl. Oh! And the snail is cool. BTW I also thought the deer and elk and moose were cool. And one of my favorite things was the alligator about to eat a sheep. I love chompy mouth animal pictures. Listen. If you're mugged and your green card is stolen, you have to fill out some forms and pay another $450 for a replacement. It takes six months to get a new one, but you can get a stamp on your passport. Well, and then $590 more when it expires, which in our case is about 9 months from now. That means we'll have the $450 new green card for about three months. LOL But you're required by law to carry your green card all the time. Hopefully you aren't a victim of a violent criminal attack because it's one thing after another that might make you so angry. But when you think of these things and go down to INS, just to see if maybe life is a little more fair than you think (it isn't), take some time to look at all these little animals. Most important is that you aren't dead and these little tile animals will make you so happy.

Refurbished in 2014, he now has a dynamic digital sign and an electronic message board. Metrobot is the work of Nam June Paik, a Korean-American artist who works out of the Solway Gallery. The artwork is on the streets of downtown Cincinnati and you can't miss it when you're visiting the museum. And while I usually love getting FTR's, I'm really pleased to see that the Cincinnati Yelp community spotted this artwork and added it to the Yelpiverse! Compliments all around! Tucked away off Race St in OTR, the Cincinnati Recreation Commission is a great facility that also holds a boxing area, pool table, basketball, and more. I had a blast skating to some great tunes. I was really proud of myself for not falling at all, and everyone else seemed to get the hang of it too. I wasn't brave enough to try any tricks but enjoyed watching those who did. Thanks Cindy for the pizza and another great event, and to all the sponsors for providing much-needed bevs and snacks!

I was stoked to skate as it had been years since I last laced up and ventured onto the rink. You dig? The tunes were rad and had everyone boogieing in their skates. I really dug those that dressed in 70's garb, shout out to Kara and Stephen and others. The photos from this event are slammin' and hilarious. Right on! Thanks to Cincy Cindy for the groovy event.
