This was a farily typical grocery store, not new, and probably rebranded from another name. What really annoyed me though was that Tops seemed to heavily push their membership program that gives savings on their products. Those savings apply to a great majority of the products that I looked that and sometimes the savings were quite significant. As I was only staying a few days in the area, I did not sign up for the membership. Annother annoyance was that even if I were to get the membership, their prices are still significantly more expensive than where I live (Boston area). For example with apples, their cheapest variety with their membership card were around $1.88/lb (costed even more without the card) but our apples are $0.99/lb for all varieties. For comparison, I visited Wegman's at nearby Johnson City on the last night of my trip and found their apples at a base price of $1.88/lb (no card needed). For positive notes about this particular store, the staff working at the deli counter were friendly and were able to make a decent sub for my coworker.
